Moncrief, David Thompson, and Nique are definitely on the short list too. English. Agree on Mitch... great defender too. Not a lot of wasted motion on offense, similar to Jordan. Great fundamentals. Strong asf. Didn't realize he averaged more 3 pt attempts than Dirk. That Run TMC team took a lot of 3's for that era, and were crazy uptempo. So much fun to watch. Agree with the guy above that says it's more like they're forgotten in general. As true aficionados don't underrate a guy like Richmond or Thompson. Nique and Moncrief however being left out of the top 50 is flat out underrated.

He was an all-nba talent in Phoenix, but he was later overshadowed big Boston's Big 3. I doubt he minded though.

I just made the same comment. I'm from the Sacramento area and Mitch was basically the only highlight we had in the 90's. I remember Jordan saying that many times.

@@FuShengAlex I think Mitch was better than Clyde, but there's definitely room for debate. I think Mitch was a better defensive player for sure and his offensive game was pretty evenly matched with Clyde for the most part. Both great players though without a doubt.

I think it was Reggie Miller 2nd to Jordan but Mitch Richmond sure could play he’s just another guy that got stuck in the Jordan era that got overlooked

@@ericm9686 Mitch doesn't get enough props because there wasn't much flash to his game. He would routinely abuse people in the post and no 2 guard could consistently back him down on defense. I also recall Jerry Reynolds (who did just about everything for the Kings organization) stating that Mitch would have had a way higher scoring average if he cut off his big toe. SO many shots with the foot on the line...

There is 0 argument for Mitch. Clyde was so much better it’s not even funny. Also in 15 season Clyde Drexler had 135.6 Winshares where as in 14 seasons Mitch Richmond had 79.3 Winshares. That’s a ginormous difference. There is absolultey no Goldman way Mitch was better than Clyde stop it.

In hindsight it was a bad trade but the Warriors had to get bigger and not just bigger but bigger yet still skilled , Billy Owens fit that bill he just didn't have the impact Coach Nelson anticipated.

Peter Virden unless you were a spurs fan and watched him play his 19 seasons, its understandable that you don't see it. He wasn't flashy. His clothes were cheap. Never missed the playoffs in his 19 seasons i the West. One of the highest winning ratios in NBA history. 5-1 in the loaded West. Beat Shaq and Kobe Always made a defensive team. Consistent AF every night with at least a Double Double every night. Did what made the team win instead of his bank account. Clutch 2-1 against lechoke, with 2 of those times being old. Loyal Ejected only once and it was for smiling on the bench. Best Power Forward of all time. He was a role model to all his teammates. Humble.

Key Skywalker So I don’t disagree with Tim Duncan being a top 10 player all time, in fact I would make an argument that you could place him ahead of Kareem. I disagree with the inconsistency in your logic. 1) There is a decent sized list of NBA greats who haven’t missed the playoffs, that’s not really the best individual stat line. 2) 5-1 Finals record, a players/teams Finals record can be a horrible stat to look at from face value. Jerry West was 1-8 in the Finals which is god awful, but isn’t going to the Finals and losing better than not going at all? Obviously this doesn’t take anything away from Duncan’s near perfect record, it’s just Finals records in general are not good reference points. 3) Shaq and Kobe hadn’t accomplished anything yet when the Spurs beat them. 1998-1999 Lakers were not the same Lakers that went on to win a 3peat in the Finals.... bottom line. This doesn’t take anything away from the Spurs but let’s not take “Shaq and Kobe’s defeat” out of context. 4) The fact that you referenced an NBA legend as Lechoke definitely shows your bias about certain accomplishments or eras in the league. But just because you’re underselling LBJ doesn’t necessarily mean you’re overselling Duncan so we’ll just ignore that 5) you seem to be obsessed with Tim Duncan’s personality traits that have nothing to do with basketball skill or accomplishments ie referencing his humbleness, loyalty, and cheap clothes. For instance, leflops 9 trips to the finals sounds impressive until you realize that the east was so weak that they had to do away with the East v West all star game format. These are just the ones at his position. If somebody matchs MJ's efficiency, defense and accolades while putting up the 45ppg MJ would be putting up today, I'll concede that if that player maintains that peak for 10 straight seasons, he would be better than MJ. I don't hate any era I just have a lenses to read what the numbers really mean. Why? Because the context shows that theres never been an easier era to for offense because hand checking is banned, bigs can't defend the post for more than 3 seconds, any contact is a foul and a 90's foul can be an ejection with fines today, the shot clock resets to 14 instead of 24 creating more processions per a game. 5) I mention Duncans personality traits because without them the greatest trio in NBA history would not have been possible. Duncan shared the spot light, never let his ego create a problem like Shaq and Kobe did or Leflop and Irving, and he took pay cuts to keep his winning team together. He cared about having the best team possible, not being the best player possible. Also another reason I have him just above Kobe. I mentioned his clothes were cheap to emphasize the point why he is often overlooked. He never drew unnecessary attention to himself.

Key Skywalker 1) Absolutely, Timmy was a beast of an iron man and the Spurs wouldn’t hold that record without him on the team. But if you want to add in further context, like you did with pointing out LBJ dominating the weaker E Conf saying he would have never made that many Finals appearances in the West, you are absolutely right. But Duncan would have never pulled his amazing act of playoff dominance off without coming into such a perfect situation with the Spurs. He had the veteran experience of David Robinson to pull from immediately, an up coming future HOF coach Popovich to guide him, and an overall organization that gives a shit about its players. Imagine if Duncan had been drafted to the Knicks! Or the fucking Cavs, they wouldn’t have a title! So these circumstances contributed a giant amount to Duncan’s success, but you have to tip your hat to Timmy D bc he took every bit of advantage of it, ceased every moment and never took it for granted. 2) I feel like you could put Duncan over Kobe if you’re strictly comparing accolades and being completely objective about the situation. But narratives play a big part in a superstars legacy: game winning shots, intense rivalries, etc. You seem like you’re more into the old school basketball play style so you should be able to appreciate that. For instance, Kobe Bryant defeating a HOF Boston Celtics team that has a legendary rivalry with the Lakers since the beginning of the league. Spurs championship against the Cavs and Nets cannot compare to something like that you know. Not all rings are equal 3) So the Spurs beat Shaq and Kobe in their early phase and then much later in their bickering phase. That is no small task by any means. But LA was untouched for 3 straight years. Although at that point it’s just up to personal preference. Either you a lakers fan or spurs fan in that scenario. Neither answer is wrong, whether you want to say “Shaq and Kobe beat themselves” or say “the spurs were the ultimate downfall of the Lakers”. But Orlando knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs when MJ first returned, team stability is important. Also Spurs have never won back to back championships, that definitely says something. 4) At that point you’re just getting into circumstances again, put players in different situations and eras you’re going to get varying results. LBJ has a case to call himself the GOAT, just like every guy on your Top 10 list above us has a case. And I don’t know why you and other people are dead set on comparing LBJ to Jordan. It’s contradictory since LBJ isn’t even on your list, and yet you immediately compare him to your number one spot MJ? And comparing Lebron to Jordan in general is always a major downfall of judgement. They as players couldn’t be more opposite, Mike was a regular sized guard who was ball dominant and contorted his body to get around defenders making a living playing half court knocking down jumpers while Lebron is a giant athletic freak who likes to pass the ball or in his hay day just go straight over people (I’m aware Jordan was also dunking on everyone) while he’s absolutely dominant in transition. LBJ is more comparable to Magic or Larry Bird. Although Luka Doncic is starting to look like a young Lebron minus the athleticism, and if it wasn’t for LBJ then a guy like Luka wouldn’t even exist in the NBA today. Who do you think LD grew up watching and modeled his game after? 5) Everything you’ve just said about Duncan is true. But the shit about Shaq/Kobe and LBJ/Kyrie is just taken out of context. Kobe hated Shaq bc Shaq was fucking lazy. So that’s just a reasonable work dispute if you ask me, of course it’s going to look more dramatic than it is because they’re in LA and everything there is a fucking reality show. With the post champion Cavs, Irving was just a little spoiled brat who happens to be an amazing scorer but once LBJ got him that chip Kyrie thought he could just be the man on some other team like it would be nothing. So I say fuck Kyrie for being spoiled and ditching a championship team and fuck Kevin Durant for joining an already well built championship accomplished team and completing throwing off parody in the NBA. Yeah young Ray Allen was dunking on bodies...his UConn vs IVERSON's Georgetown was a CLASSIC...96 draft, is up there with 1984, and 2003 draft classes...J.kidd,IVERSON, Ray Allen didn't have SHAQ thats the only difference in the early 2000's when they dominated.
