Shinji Mikami has an Executive Producer credit on Revelations 2 so he may of had some input on the direction of this game, hence The Evil Within vibes, which I agree with. It also has The Last of Us influence with the workbenches, plus Barry & Natalia's story.
Re revelations 1 is my favourite re game, my only complaints are rachel is very underutilised for such a great design, the scanner is a bit annoying and the dodge mechanic is very finicky to pull off.
YESSSSSS! Im actually surprised Rev2 isn't popular as I felt it should be. It was soooo good. Top notch. Especially the raid mode, that was so much fun.
I mean I wouldn’t say it’s underrated I kinda think it’s MID Yea I do agree with you with the gameplay, and raid mode, that’s actually really good and I quite enjoyed it Claire’s campaign Straight to the garbage because I refuse to believe that that’s actually Claire, the Claire that I know wouldn’t go chasing after a man who ended up betraying her she even lost her touch with kids clearly whoever wrote revelations 2 hasn’t watched degeneration and hasn’t played resident evil 2 But when it comes to Barry’s campaign, yeah I love the storyline No comment 10 out of 10 but I'll be honest when it comes to gameplay I would prefer Claire's campaign. storyline absolutely not Overall, as a Claire fan, I would give this game 6 out of 10 because Claire is different.
I enjoyed rev 1 but honesty rev 2 was by far my least fav title. It was too much. Switching back and forth from characters, all the options of crafting melees, it seemed like they tried to make it like the last of us. I’m prob alone on this lol
@GlennTooGrim Didn't mean to sound rude lol. Sorry. But yeah I loved those games. Put way too many hours into them as a kid. Really wish Capcom would do something with em. Either remaster or just HD remake. I'm actually in the middle of Rev2 😅
Naw it got goofy after the first level. Maybe its your cup of tea but I felt it was clunky .I love this franchise but it's not one I ever felt compelled to come back to
@natashaw.7315 I agree, outbreak and file 2 are really good games. The only issue I had with them is the AI. I always prefered to play through the games solo since the AI partners can be a little frustrating when getting in the player's way.
My problem with RER2 is its characters, I never liked Claire, then come this annoying teenager or whatever that is your partner and things just get worse. That little girl and her game mechanic was also pretty meh. Barry is cool though
I agree at first I didn't like Moira when I first played Rev 2, but she kind of grew on me later on. Also yeah Barry's awesome, but I actually liked Natalia. I think her design was a good contrast to Barry. In fact I'd like to see Natalia return in a new Resident Evil game.
Ive tried to play rev2 3 separate times and i just cant get into it. I do however love revelations 1. For some reason i find revelations 2 has worse gameplay and it felt clunky. I think the character switching mechanic is unique but got irritating at times
Yeah it takes a few minutes to get use to it, the controls do get better as you level skills up making you feel less clunky, hopefully you power through one day.
It's not because it's a subtitle game. It's just boring to me. That's just my opinion. The set pieces environment atmosphere is not compelling. Art wise its dry and stale. As hard as they tried to make it dark and grimey its predictable. Environments in the og series even though prerendered backgrounds feel way more creative and real. The feeling this was just recently a living place and the normality of it makes it more surreal now that it is littered with the dead and monsters. Its what gives it that george romero vibe which shinji mikami is paying homage to
Didn't like the art directions of rer2 it boring,ugly & lazy i get board of it i even forced myself to finish it but i gotta admit the claire campaign is fun on co-op but Barry's... my brothers refuse to play with me cuz of natalia on the other hand i freaking love Resident evil revelations for the ocean/water theme the queen zenobia is beautiful asf the final boss was fun & i love the 3ds ver ^^
One of my most proudest Platinum 🏆s! This game is such a gem that needs more love 😤😭 tbh, it's much better than REV1 gameplay wise and character roster too (still love REV1 tho and I was able to Platinum that too hehe) 💯 I just want that REV3 and Alextalia continuation 🥲🙏🏻 REV2 is literally kinda like a love child of TLOU and TEW 🤭
