I think that the one perimeter near the Lousville gun shop in the North(-West) deserves to be on the list. Surrounded by large walls, you can unfortunate not look through, and the only entrance being a large metal fence gate
I have made a base in the battory factory before and it was nice. If you block off 1 side you can secure a large area. Only downside its hard to build there and you dont have that many trees near but it was satisfying once I completed
@SaraLanc3 Some people are able to survive well into the days where you've exhausted all supplies within a large radius, turn the respawn timer up and avoid needing to cross the entire map for some scraps of loot.
That radio station outside Muldraugh is so criminally underrated. You are the only person I've heard talk about it and it's perfect. The isolated hunting cabin west of there has it's own well which makes the radio station even more valuable.
I've been thinking about making a base there, and had no idea about that well, interesting, although a bit far. There is a small lake to the north which is also kinda far. My biggest issue is really that it feels like I will need to chop down trees to make a easier path to the muldraugh road, and possibly one to the north to hit the east/west road too.
I built a base there and made a shortcut to the main highway through the forest, and to prevent the road from becoming overgrown with bushes I simply laid the floor in three squares on this road. And also there is no spawn zombie there and you can go fishing at the lake near hotel across the highway
@@cryptc it's not so long becouse you already have schorcut to the highway by the dirt road, just make it wider and cut off busches. You can fill it with the sand from nearby. By it seems to me we are talking about different places and lakes. it's better to show everything on the map
I love the farm in Doe Valley. You can make supply runs to the towns in a day, but you also have lots of woods for fences, a garden and the well! This is the base for my longest character, that's why it has a special place in my heart.
it's too easy. Have to play w sprinters and horde mod or else you win the game and it's boring. When they introduce animals it would be farm simulator 99 living there
In the southwest of Riverside there is a surveillance station, it is surrounded by large fences and it's in the middle of the forest so you can chop trees and expand your base and set traps to get meat and gain weight.
@@thechlebek901 because if you only you eat vegetables you will eventually lose weight and that will make you weaker: less stamina, less damage per hit, more damage taken, and so on.
@@uhtred7860 The major difference CodyCada didn't mention is that losing too much weight WILL kill you. PZ itself has 6 weight "States" with the 5th one having some sub-states itself. You can be Obese, Overweight, Normal, Underweight, Very Underweight and Emaciated (Which itself becomes severe below 35kg weight). Each of them affects you negatively in a way, except the only one that outright will kill you is Emaciation. You gain the trait at 50kg, and it has the worst debuffs (Worse than having an obese character for combat). Lower than 35kg and you will begin to slowly take damage that WILL kill you. It is entirely unavoidable, as your body just breaks down, painkillers won't help, and neither will say, First Aid. Character Weight is only really important in long saves, OR if you play a mode like 6 Months Later, A Really CD DA or a community made preset for 1 / 10 / 50 years later. In short lived characters you won't lose weight fast enough to notice signs of emaciation or losing / gaining weight, but in longer playthroughs you basically have to either luck out and find a lot of high calorie food, plan your character around weight (I.e taking Overweight trait for example) OR get really good at fishing or trapping depending on where you base up. Fishing is better in my opinion, but depending on where you base up, it will either be impossible or require a long drive. In the extreme edge-case that you base up in Louisville, unless you base up close to a park, neither are good.
I'm using the isolated forest house right now in my current playthrough. I built an additional two floors onto it and when I go to the roof I can see over the trees for any zombies. Been a great spot so far.
My Louisville base is the AmeriGlobe four story, open plan office building, plenty of room for storage, living quarters, an indoor garden and roof access , also perfect for a rope entry. You are surrounded by grass and woodlands, there is a water feature over the road for fishing, walking distance to a 4-pump gas station, a major hospital and a massive industrial estate for all of your supply needs. With the military blockade nearby you also have guns, ammo, backpacks and all of the generators you could ever need!
The goal me and my son have set, is to clear out and secure the Grand Ohio Mall, and live there, à la Dawn of the Dead & Dead Rising.😆 Someone must have done it before, would love to see a video of it being done.
My most recently discovered favorite base is the abandoned village near Dixie trailer park, the only real issue with it is that you need to be high enough level in the construction stats to really make it livable but it's worth it
My Preferred base location is the cluster of 3 big houses by the River between Riverside and Westpoint. The ones with Ben's Cabin close by at the small pond. You are pretty close to 2 towns, you have a river very close by, for water and fishing, and most of those houses have garages (good chance for nice cars too) and fireplaces for cooking and warmth. The wood is not an issue too, I hope there will be good hunting grounds when animals come to the game tho. I think that location is great for small group of survivors. Also great base if you have boats modded.
Lmao two of my boys and I are setup there now. We have horde night on so we shoot over to twiggys to defend when that rolls around so we don’t dirty up our houses by the river.
LOL, i had a real nice set up in one of those houses, (the one with the Jetty) plus, when i rolled up the house at the end was a survivor house, the loot i got out of it was awesome. But i used the 'Bens Cabin' as my fishing hut, and was walking back from a days fishing when i walked right into two Z's and got bit. I didn't realise, but there was a group of tents on the edge of the road thats close with about 8 Zombies lurking about, they must have heard me and wandered over without me knowing.
I actually spent awhile recently doing runs where I spawned on top of the Ohio mall and eventually had to call a helicopter to escape. You spawn on the roof in that same spot you talked about. I never was able to escape, though it’s a really fun challenge. Also another super underrated base location is the train depot logistics building next to the main Louisville checkpoint. It’s close to the city and is a huge area right next to the checkpoint which is stacked with loot. It has unbreakable fences surrounding most of it too so it’s easily defendable. It’s got “garage” space for dozens of vehicles and has a really badass 3 story building with double balconies on the roof. I’m trying to build a Woodbury type community there right now with the superb survivors mod. Also also for that guns a blazzINN location something to note is that it has a shooting range and hunting lodge next to it. Both places usually don’t have many zeds and both have unlocked armories that are super easy to get into. The hunting lodge also has several refrigerators with lots of fresh food in it next to the armory.
Theres also a Scarlet Oak Distillery (located at the riverside of Louisville) which is incredibly large and has many tall fences. It also has a forest, gas station, a river nearby and a ridiculously large amount of bourbon so you dont need to worry about disinfectant.
A personal favorite is the mechanics shop in the top left of LV, it has an upstairs, fenced in back, and garage space, plus lots of surounding warehouses
I like the apartment building just south of the Grand Ohio Mall, next to the strip mall with the gun store. It's got a closed in parking area on the bottom floor so that you can be safe while you unload your loot after a supply run. I also like that it has multiple doors that the zomboids have to break through if they're after you, and it's easy to add more in the hallway. It has 12 apartments so there's plenty of storage, and each person can pick their own apartment even if you're playing with a large group.
Riverside has a 2 story Food and Bar place right near the river that i think is just one of the dandiest spots in the game. Board up all the windows downstairs and the ones upstairs from the 2nd floor to stop peeping zombies from knocking on the ones downstairs and you have a large, secure, location complete with cooking and cold storage appliances as well as the capability at higher carpentry to rain barrel the areas above them for water access to live a zomboid life in a modern-ish day way. i might still be in riverside but that 2 floor bar is one of my many many homes in zomboid. Other places include. Muldraugh: The Rusty Rifle bar on Muldy's south end (Smokey's if i'm living on the north end) Rosewood: I hate this place so don't ask. West Point: No IMMEDIATE spots to think of here Valley Station: Where HAVEN'T I lived here? There's a nice area up from a farmer's market with a lake nearby as well as some homes to live in as preference. Louisville: Mostly northern end aside from the mirror like mansions outside West Point but a more complete gated entry than the West Point Mansions. Some apartments for sanctuary on the 2nd floor. The Louisville Trainyard near the checkpoint is also a building to take for me as well not because of the guns nearby but because on multiplayer servers i can put them inside without some goblin trying to take my shit.
I'll add some. Muldraugh: the 2 warehouses just up the road from the Rusty Rifle, or the one next door to Smokeys. I ALWAYS find sledgehammers and antique stoves in both those warehouses. Lake Phallas: (its in Doe Valley, with a lake thats shaped like a D, hence the name) The Church building with the upstairs, Or the small apartment above the Gas Station. Rosewood: The apartment above the gas station, the Lumber Yard. Or once you get a sledge and carpentry level, build in the rafters of the church. West Point: So many good spots, The school, the apartment above the Hardware shop (lots of canned food stashed up there) The 3 storey office building next to the food market (has a big balcony for collecting rain and is sometimes a big survivor house/base) Valley Station: The big warehouse near the entrance to LV & army checkpoint. March Ridge: Its a death trap, I avoid it. Riverside: The C.G.E Corp abandoned factory AKA "Tanglewood" west of Riverside Louisville: Jims Auto Shop near the Ready Prep army surplus shop. Roof access (always good) and a secure garden area.
I'd also suggest the campsite west of Riverside. It has two shops with apartments on a second story with everything you would need. One is a general store with a modern apartment and the second is one with more of a cabin feal which would be great for expansion. It also has a gas station just down the road. The location is extremally far from any other POIs so it can be great for those that want to stay isolated and self-sufficient.
I started a base there, but it was a bit to isolated, so i moved to the Three mansions by the lake & river, to the west of west point. One of the mansions was a preppers house with a decent amount of guns, melee weapons, food & meds, it was also full of walking dead preppers😆.
I love the Camp Grounds in the middle of the forest near Muldraugh, it's sparse and there's no electricity but there's a lake, cabins all have an oven, it's not too far from a few interesting places and the deep forest protects from the zombies
Seeing the tennis courts made me think they should eventually try to work mini-games/sports into the game. It’d be a good way to break the monotony especially in MP. From things like darts and pool tables to actual sports. Or even video games if you have power. Sports like tennis, basketball or soccer would probably be easiest. Physical activities would also have the bonus of training fitness.
,I think another amazing location is the riverwood factory, I don't hear people talk about it much but, its in a isolated town with a VERY low so once you clear out the zombies, you could live there peacefully without worry, it also has a house with food and a generator spawn, while the factory is messed it can be cleaned up and you can make a good base in the rooms in the larger building garage, done it a few times and I'm happy with how it turns out every time!
It is a nice location - just isolated and a long way from any points of interest of significant value. Once the map expands in the next big patch it'll gain value as it'll be a good staging ground for going north/west (I'm never quite sure which way is actual north on the map).
there's a big warehouse in the north-west corner of Louisville (between Fossoil HQ and a gas station) that I found surprisingly solid for a big base. It has a south entrance for cars that can be fenced in rather easily, and 1 door + some windows to the west, these would be the only points of entrance for zombies. Otherwise it's completely surrounded by big fences. The warehouse itself has a couple small rooms for personal quarters, 2 floors. Then there's an absolutely massive space for your own custom base, tons of shelves, of course there's useful items as well, and the location is very close to massively useful stores while not being crammed full of zombies itself. I was honestly surprised by how useful that place ended up being on my last run. Only thing it's missing is nature, there is no grass, no trees. I quite like the mall idea, gonna have to give it a try at some point. Thanks!
The Farmhouse in Muldraugh would be a good option as long as you aren’t doing the CDDA Challenge, but even then, that’s where I usually find the needle I need to stitch up my leg. Btw, the “isolated forest home” at 1:51 is literally just a meth lab. There is medical equipment in the trashy white building.
I love the radio station deep in the woods just outside the Riverside trailer park. It's got its ups and downs but it's good enough for one player, could serve up to three or four in multiplayer. It has a car path but it is still isolated from most wandering zeds, has foraging opportunities, has a fence to protect eventual livestock from zed, and is a great roleplay option overall. Furthermore with the rain barrels from the fishing shop in Riverside you can set up there on Day 1 if you spawn in Riverside and either hotwire a vehicle from having the Burglar profession or find a key for a working vehicle. Additionally I imagine it's actually a pretty good decent base in PvP servers simply because the building doesn't offer loot that is worthwhile enough to go out of your way to raid it for and being near Riverside already - which is already considered a bit boring - makes it a decent safehouse simply because you're unlikely to have visitors.
Honestly guys if you like urban bases and building and modifying the base, please check out the VSH store building that has the liquor store that’s in the small strip mall (?). I took over the entire building, fortified, and even built a staircase to the roof. Probably my favourite base I have ever made
I like to base at that one left most house in West Point that I love to call the "Country House" Nice place, gets you nice and near to the river and forest, so you can always have wood and fish when you need it - and let's not forget to mention the shed and small warehouse behind it for some extra loot, specifically farming supplies as I usually find Plus it's got a double and two single beds, a closet with a metal shelf, a nice kitchen, and two bathrooms I know there's better places, but this one feels easy to get to and welcomes you with open arms... once you evict the previous home owners that were there and the neighbors near by
We're basing in the Louisville Baseball stadium and it's great. Large open area to build in, huge perimeter provided by the stadium buildings which are easy to plug up. Safe, farm friendly and close to the action. Only thing it's missing is a water source to fish from (like most bases).
Me and my son built a base on the railway bridge over the river just outside West point, that was a great base, could fish into the river off the roof, and snipe the Z's on the highway bridge just next door.😆
The military campgrounds Southwest of the Crossroads Mall is also sexy. Though, I'm still wondering if you can setup shop on the Louiseville bridge - just build a base from scratch because there's not that many zoomers there once you weld the wrecks.
I'm honestly a sucker for the whole area around Crossroads mall, i end up setting up a base somewhere near it like 90% of the time, it has good loot close-by (not just at the mall) and all the best towns are within only a few minute drive distance. Especially prefer it for that reason in multiplayer as very few people seem to realize its value & focus on those 'best towns' instead.
One of the best bases in Louisville is the Mounted Police Barracks in the bottom left of the park at the center of Louisville. The building only has windows on one side and an entrance big enough for cars. You can build a big double gate to block it off. The building has an open courtyard in the center of it so you can work on cars and farm in safety. The building has a small armory, office, bay bedroom with 4 bunk beds, bathroom and two storage rooms. There is a parking lot in front and a white picket fence around the whole compound. There are three large water barrels around and a small pond too. The park has a large pond in the center of it. Diagonally at the other corner of the park is the visitor’s center with a wood burning oven. Not far from the barracks are two gas stations, a police station, school, small bookstore, liquor store, garage/tire store, pawn shop, garden center, small mall, and big gigamart!
I do like the train yard south of Muldraugh. Somehow, claustrophobic characters do not panic if living in those hangars. And its pretty chill once you've cleared all Z's being since its out of town.
i like to build my base within the louisville defense perimeter. I use the tents near the burned village that still has an intact gas pump. Then i start building my own house. It's almost impossible for zombies to get in. The fences entrances are too far away, so any zombie attracted to you will just stand behind the fence.
I’ve always liked the Army Surplus south of riverside. Plenty of weapons, somewhat remote while still having connections to major roads, a small hospital nearby, a mechanic shop just across the street, a gas station at the mechanic shop. It just seems like a great place to go when you can clear it out.
Theres a lumber mill south of the fire station in rosewood, it has a wood fence all around it with a chai link gate and a TON of logs which are perfect for people who like to build
Another place alotta people overlook is the abandoned CGE Corp warehouse in the abandoned neighborhood west of Rosewood. It's also in an interesting location close to the new map expansion and where (I presume) Brandenburg KY will be when it comes out.
I'm sad you didn't mention that the isolated forest home is a meth lab / crack shack. It's a trailer filled with lab equipment that spawns guns in the cabinets, and sometimes you'll find a hazmat suit zombie there, too. The house beside it is piled with trash, basically the only furniture in there is a couch to smoke up on.
Me and my friends base is west of Wespoint by a lake and the river in the middle of a forest with 3 big houses and our house/fortified base uses the big metal fences and it’s great. Farming space, fishing, isolated so hardly any zombies.
The American Tire Store outside of West Point is nice. It's right on the edge of town but it's not too bad in terms of zombies from what I've seen. It's got the shopfloor, the double garage in the back, the second floor office, a kitchen, and it's just a neat space.
By following the road in riverside, closest to the river, and going south and then east, past the few houses off the road, you will find a secluded camp-site-ish house in the forest. It is down a path on the road going east from Riverside to West Point. It doesn’t necessarily have everything you need, but I made a base there and it is wonderful. There are basically no zombies, and to find any at all, you have to drive down the road pretty far. There is a house, a large shed with storage, and a weird roofed thing with boxes in it. It is close enough to riverside where you can make runs for items and books. In my base I made, I built a compound using the curved shape of the house and it is pretty cool. I also just got a fishing rod, so I can walk about thirty seconds to the river and fish. 10/10 location, I love it. I also have survived 40 days so far which is my longest ever!
Personally, the park ranger station and the other areas around that lake are nice - however, I based there in one of my early playthroughs, and the biggest problems are that it’s pretty far away from everything (though there is a military surplus store close nearby) and because of the lack of road access, transporting and moving around is a pain in the ass. If you’ve turned down population settings, also, it gets boring, pretty fast, because there’s just nothing around.

For anyone with a decent sized group, you can set up in the freight shipping office building, its just outside the containment zone and you can removed the fence with a propane torch to allow a car in to the city with an easy escape route, it leads all the way to the train station at the heart of the city.
Not exactly "hidden", but it's also not immediately obvious is Twiggy's on the NE side of West Point. It's got decent size to it, not too far from water and forest, and you can remove the stairs if you're into that kind of playstyle. The gun store is just next door and making runs into West Point is easy enough and you can graduate to Louisville from there when you're ready.
Clarks Storage in Muldraugh is my current fave. It needs work to turn it into a 'house', but has high fences and some buffer cells around it. It's near the highway, and give access to the Muld.South Gas Sattion. Post Office in Riverside is bad ass if you settle up there. Westpoint Hardware store/Gas sation combo has a lot of potential.
my friends and I love Muldraugh and the restaurant on the edge of the city where the warehouses are. There aren't a lot of zombies, quick tree-chop trough the forest on the street to McCoys wood storange thingy and much freedom for building! Also you're directly on the highway aka main street. The 1st level fo the restaurant as storange and/or mechanics garage and upstairs you can extend the areas and build to the roof.
"isolated forest home" is called a drug lab. it also spawns guns and some tools and if you like the civilian bulletproof vest, then you can find one there
The best base I've ever found in the map is the gas station on the highway leading into Louisville. Its in a relatively quiet spot between two cities, a minute's drive from the Army checkpoint and Mall (not the main Mall, but the original one without a gun store) and lots of points of interest within short travel. Yes there are zombies in the trailer parks nearby and also on the highway - but both are 100% manageable with some thought, and you don't even need to be quiet. Its also walled on two sides with unbreakable tall fences, is right next to a decent sized wooded area, has a pond just down the road, several warehouses a short trip away and lots of cars to salvage. Oh, and effectively infinite fuel and a large car park. And a decent sized garden area. And two reasonably sized two story shops with apartments. And massive amounts of storage space with crates, shelves, freezers, washing machines, a single story bathroom area that can easily be plumbed into water collectors... Literally the only downside to that base is its far away from spawn locations and there's quite a few initial zombies in the area - so you need to prepare with a car and plenty of ammo if you want to clear it in good time. But once its secure - its perfect, ripe for expansion and safe without being boring.
Ruby Gas?? I was based above the liquor store next door for a while, before moving just down the road to the big warehouse. I like living in commercial building with roof access.😆
My base of choice is right next to the baseball stadium in the middle of Louisville. The white building only has one set of stairs to knock down. I'm pretty much completely safe with plenty of room for storage and workshops, and a roof farm on the adjacent building.
The American Tire outside of West Point is pretty good too and hardly anyone uses it. Its right outside of all the zombies of west point and the train track near can take you anywhere you need to go.
I remember visiting the first two sites in search of resources and those areas had a mid zombie population, perhaps they are affected by zombies that migrate and spawn from the roads
Tiny nitpick/fun fact: that "guns a blaze-inn" would actually be a motel rather than a hotel; the key difference being that hotel rooms are all indoors. Still some interesting locations.
Ngl I kinda really like the car lot in riverside, lots of cars to steal or salvage, fence all the way around, and a very nice location for wood, and close to the main shopping areas of riverside
Theres a nice cabin area just south of Riverside. Theres a dirt road turn off on the highway just south of the Fossoil in southern Riverside. Its got enough trees to keep the zombies away and it far enough that no matter how loud you are, your safe. But its still a 3 min drive into town.
There's this massive group of depots isolated from the city iself but near Maldraugh or whatever it's called, there are 2 big depots and 2 small ones, I've established my base in the bottom big one and it's spacious and has tons of metal things for you to scrap and all appliances necessary for your survival, such as sinks, microwaves, and a radio. I also park my cars inside the base, which is a possibility because of its sheer size, and the depot that I used has a small room with 2 shelves (50 inventory space each) and a counter with sink, which is great for storing your stuff, and to make it even better, food is not an issue since you can quickly get to the city (Less than 2 minutes to get there) and go on a looting spree or just set up a farm The name of the depot is McCoy Logging, there are 2 entrances to get there and I remember that there's a sign in one of them that says "McCoy Logging", which should help you get there
The rosewood construction yard is great too. 3 buildings unbreakable high walls. Lots of empty space already secure and a bit further from the city then the firehouse
My fave is the farm house just north of Riverside. Near enough to riverside so you can do raids into it but has a forest inbetween to easily lose zeds. Lots of land to build with fields for crops surrounded by fences. You also have a river near the back for water. Not near anything major so player traffic is low.
I think the gas station in that small town tween riverside and rosewood (doe valley?) Is great. 2 storys, low pop zombies near by, an that town has all you need with a hardware and farm store(with gun counter), medical, and a bar.
there's a group of 3 big houses to the west of west point which i quite like, there's a cabin nearby with a woodstove and it's right next to the river. one of the houses even has a tall fence around it!
I recently posted up in the clothing store located in the highway rest stop south of west point. It even has a gas station and i converted most of the clothing store into a garage with a very lucky sledge living in the back storage room
I personally like the Smokeys Saloon & Restaurant in the North-East of Muldraugh as well as the Cortman Medical inside of Muldraugh. Both have a complete apartment in the first floor (or second floor for Americans) and I like to have everything I need just ready for me to move in, so I don't have to bother with moving heavy stuff that much. You can in both cases just put some ropes out of the window and then destroy the stairs with a sledgehammer, although I personally don't do that usually. With the Smokeys Saloon & Restaurant you can even destroy a wall and connect that apartment with the second floor of the actual Saloon and then remove the stairs of the Saloon and you instantly have all the space you need especially when you put some additional floor down. Both cases can have problems with high zombie population of course, although it's not that bad, both areas aren't usually the main area for zombies to hang around. But well, I mostly play on Survivor.
I base in the warehouse just next door to Smokeys, roof access and theres always a sledge hammer on the crates, destroy the stairs and put down a floor and its great, u can get your vehicles inside too. Muldraugh highway is always infested at the beginning tho.
For me is Golf Course near Riverside, It has watersource+tree and many potential base. Like resterant middle of golf course, 10 house with fance, or country club.
The Golf Club in Louisville, Fence on one side with parking beyond it and the exposed side is a forest. It's as isolated as you can get in the middle of the big city.
yoooo i did a spawn at phallus lake or ekron or whatever you call the dong lake town xD but anyways, i found the one you call farm farm and i LOVE the spot. one part that's getting tricky tho is the long dirt driveway to it, it starts growing bushes and grass and saplings and you gotta clear it up to keep your car from slowing down in it
On a looting run, realised the Scarlet Oak Distillery would be excellent AFTER the helicopter event. Not a huge amount of zeds in or outside in the parking lot, and all that you can drink! (Water is there as well if you want to be weak)
just started a new run with a buddy and we're at the relay station and dont forget to point out that the top corner has a hole in the fence. I put 2 file cabinets there until my carpentry and metalworking was high enough to block it properly
there's a playground near the vhs store in riverside. build up to the jungle gym house or use the working ladders mod. it's perfect with nearby river, grassland, bar, restaurant, vhs, clinic, downtown, and forest, and very few zombies.
There is secret radio stastion building not far from gold court. With spiral road leading to it. Very safe, cozy, with fence and enough place for 2-3 survivors. With everything you need to survival.
I think you kinda forgot about American AutoShop in the West Point. Its a great location too. Base needs are all around, and it is isolated enough to not get raided instantly.
I just found the "ISOLATED HOUSE" in muldraugh its small but the fence goes around it pretty nice and can be barricaded easily thanks to that :D perfect for HORDE NIGHT mod where zombies wont spawn closer then 90 tiles away (maximum tiles possible)
I love doing the mall that is not in Louisville , it is best done with a group though, otherwise you just end up living in an apartment at the top of the mall :P
The isolated forest house (meth lab) is a great spot Ive stayed in many times. Just be warned though, it cannot be claimed as a safehouse in multiplayer because both buildings are marked as industrial buildings, not residential. Even the cabin.
I live St. Peregrin Hospital. Perhaps, there is nothing good. A few thousands of zombies, poor supplies and a too big complex to defend. A survivor RU-vidr I follow died there. I have migrated there just to build her memorial. It is one of so many ways to find one's base location, imo.
