MS-06GD High mobility type Zaku (for ground) Selma machine
Equipped with a bazooka B2 and a heat dagger, it acts as a medium-range support for other companions. A variant of the Zaku deployed by the Southern Cross Corps following Cucuruz Doan's desertion. It is a high-mobility type Zaku for land combat with thrusters added to its legs and waist, and can move at high speeds by hovering. As the name "Brown Southern Cross" implies, it is painted in brown camouflage, and its color pattern and armament differ from one machine to another.

Since Amuro stabbed the cockpit of Zaku High Mobility and stomped the other pilot inside Doan's base, the two Zakus are still intact enough for Doan to salvage them and use one for his new mobile suit while the other for spare parts.

When those Zeon pilots infiltrated to activate the missile and ran into Amuro who stabbed the guy's cockpit with RX-78-2 Gundam's surprise beam saber attack. And stomped the other pilot who tried to run away into paste Suletta Mercury-style.

@@rexlumontad5644 both those Zakus were dumped underwater anyway. Although, as seen in the movie, Zakus could still be used underwater, so I think it's plausible for Doan to at least use the one owned by tomato paste since it's empty and undamaged.

I don't really care for how extracted emotions are in Origins but I do really like the little subtlety of how experienced a pilot is with their mobile suits like at 0:12 or 0:32. There is no tactical advantage to run straight while you're already zooming (anyone who's done ice/roller-skating would understand) or use inertia as the main way to transfer your weapon from one hand to another. It's like the little quirks that real athletes and professional soldiers show how much training and confidence they have in their own ability.

I find it interesting the zakuu II mobility type were considered more expensive to make than the doms. I would figured the high mobility zaku II would been cheaper to make. I mean gundam series featuring one year war to 0083 operation stardust did show the huge variety of zaku II that were being created. I actually like their designed next to the gouf customs with gelongs being last.

I would imagine jerry rigging a regular zaku requires a lot of specific time and effort while you take off the old parts, put in new ones, maybe reinforce somethings. But if you are doing a high speed suit from scratch, you can skip those steps adn get straight to building.

Well, the Zaku I does kind of have the advantage of being about half the weight of its successor. So under gravity where thruster power isn't the main measure of maneuverability it could do some things the II can't.

Actually, Zakus ARE that mobile. Doan's just one of the few true Aces that actually CAN bring out that MS' performance to the max. His Zaku isn't modified so much as received patchwork maintenance; It's not supposed to have any particularly impressive boost compared to the standard fare, it's all him just being that good.

When a GM dies doing something stupid, that is fine. it is a tactical issue where he chased one wolf and got bit by the other. Rocket in the back. makes perfect sense. They might do better if someone with better tactical sense used them. But they are going up against high grade zaku, so their opponents likely have more experience. At least they aren't dying because they are paper mache that break at a stiff breeze.

Yep and canonically accurate. GM'S are better technologically than the Zaku II. But the Feddie pilots where trained in a rush due to Mobile Suits only being available to the Federation in the second half of the war. So Feddie pilots are both green and are absolute ass...

Pink normally denotes a minovsky reactor has been breached which is super bad to do in atmosphere Usually only an idiot or someone very desperate would let a suit blow up like that. I've seen it happen but it's rare for a reason. Plus mixing with the oxygen causes more fire so normally the pink is only visible in the center of terrestrial explosions.

This ridiculous explosions. are they full of C4 or something similar? why a hit to the pilot or some mechanical part, results in such an explosion?

0:02 Generic - direct damage to reactor 0:06 Initial explosion - enemy bazooka round, secondaries caused by fuel ignition and reactor failure 0:45 Reactor detonation - direct damage to the minovsky reactor causing catastrophic failure EF used pretty mediocre reactors in the MS which meant alot of explosive deaths when shot close to the torso, Zeon employed Minovsky reactors that were housed unusually close near the top of a Zaku cockpit so again hits near the torso could spell instant death

Such a boomer comment Listen, I'll be honest with you, it's not great but it's not terrible either. And speaking 90s gundam animation, I hate to break it to you but some animations like gundam wing (excluding endless waltz) and victory gundam really have not aged well in terms of animation quality.

@@dovenbullet0147 We all know Gundam Wing TV series doesn't look great. Peak Gundam animations were in the 90s movies and OVAs. And what "boomer comment"? You're just being denial. They could have traced over the 3D CGI and used a better color palette, instead of using cel shading. These cel shaded CGI animations just look uncanny.
