► In 2017, the studio unfortunately rushed through a Mummy reboot starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella and failed to bring the franchise back from the dead. The plan was start its own “Dark Universe” starring movie monsters from Universal’s beginnings. But, if there was to be yet another Mummy remake, would Brendan Fraser return as Rick O’Connell? Here’s what he says:
"Absolutely! Just gotta say, I know how hard it is to make that movie. I tried to do it three times, and the essential ingredient is fun. You gotta remember to have fun. So if there’s a fun way to approach it again, I’m all in."

I feel like Tom Cruise plays the same character in every movie nowadays. He’s always just the handsome, fearless action star. I get that action plays to his strengths, but his career has no diversity anymore. I still remember when he was in dramatic roles like A Few Good Men, Magnolia, and Born on the Fourth of July. He was also hilarious in Tropic Thunder, since that was a very uncharacteristic role for him.

This is what happens when boardroom executives focus group the soul out of something rather than trying to genuinely make something compelling/enjoyable. Iron Man didn't have a complete script when they started filming, and now there's a muti-billion dollar movie empire built from it. Universal wanted all that too but they started with something we'd all seen but without the charm. They literally picked the most robotic human possible to fill Brendan Friggin' Fraser's shoes. It's an epically laughable and embarrassing f-up.

I don't get why you people can't let go of movies, why you always compare. Tom's movie was fine, hell it was better than most Mummy movies, but you people just hang on those old childhood movies and gripe, it's sad. Fraser's movie had horrible cgi, his acting was hammy, funny but hammy, more like Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy than a serious, say Boris Karloff, movie. Fraser is so old now, he didn't hold up like Tom, that you people would bitch about that if he did another mummy movie too. lol I enjoyed Tom's move, could it have been better, everything can always be better, but it entertained me for a couple hours and that's all movies are for.

Just add new plagues and make the new mummy an ancient real Egyptian god this time around, like maybe freeing Osiris, Apep or Anubis himself from the underworld and have man eating scarabs appear in the new continent. Mention that it is: "The curse of all curses!"

If it wasn't for the voice i'd never know it was deepfaked. that lip movement is the hardest part and it is perfect. I bet Karl Urban as Wolverine would get alot of views too since the fans want him for the next movie.

This, to me, really shows how cruise has only one, aggravated expression. Fraser would have had a couple more expressions in dramatic / dangerous scenes (the deep fake follows the original (cruise's) expressions)

Your CGI Brendan Fraser is amazing and looks ten times better than the zombie in the mirror from the actual film! I am actively blocking out Toms's voice and replacing it with Brendan's, (And adding about a foot in height) very easy to do, I have loved Brendan since School Ties in 1992. Great job with this!
