I've found the narcissists who come when you are down on your luck, stay around for a while. They identify you as a possible friend because they feel above you and as if they are doing better than you. As your life improves the devaluation starts - toxic behaviour and triangulations. Finally you cut free of them because the stress of interacting with them is stronger than the benefit.

I experienced this.. one fake friend came around me while I was going through my divorce and pretended to be a true friend but every now and than she would insult me suddenly out of the blue and laugh... she got progressively worse and mean actually so I eventually dumped her.. who needs friends like this... I suspect she became jealous of my strength and ability to bounce back and my resiliency... she was weak and hollow deep down and couldn t stand my strength. Such ugly hearts these people.. pathetic...
YES. in general people only feel content and secure and artificially happy.. if they feel they are above you in some way fashion or form. like the pyramid on the back of the usa dollar bill. all those stone blocks represent actual people and everyone is feeling superior to the one below them and ultimately striving to be like the person above them. and the people at the top of the pyramid get their powers by manipulating those below them. meanwhile they on the very top are being deceived themselves from the all seeing eye of lucifer. this is why the usa is mystery babylon and she will fall in one hour.

I find that these people keep showing up at my office needing my attention at work and they do drain me...than at home there are a few neighbours that keep trying to get more of my energy... I really see how some of these people cannot function without siphoning off energy from people so badly that they cannot even stand being alone for a day... one neighbour that keeps asking me out, and I keep declining politely... I see him running to and from constantly after other women for his supply... than he dissappears for a while... probably hooked one in.. and it never lasts very long and he starts after me again... I see right through him... what a sad empty being he is... and all those like them.. really vampire is a great example of a narcissist. I just wish they would stop trying to keep getting my attention and time... they are relentless. Ughhhh I cannot stand them. Also to add what you say about how jealous they are this is so true.. I had a sister in law that used to put me down in subtle manners constantly and she copied the way I decorated my living room right down to the same sofas, colours, etc... she used to change into a white t shirt and jean skirt if I showed up wearing that.. it was so obvious how she constantly copied me... wierd.... I have seen this type of jealousy with every narcissist. They always want to destroy you. Sad, vapid, empty souls.

I woke up once as I was laying to my left side, I woke up because I felt like someone was staring at me. It was the girl I was dating. The look on her face was intense annoyance. Once I jolted up she pretended to close her eyes and be asleep and that she was waking up at the same time as me, she even started stretching. I am mediately questioned her about why she was looking at me like that to which she continue to deny and continues to play dumb. The energy I thought was how dare you sleep so comfortably perhaps I was smiling or I just looked like I was resting. It freaks me out to be honest the fact that you could just stare at somebody that’s sleeping and start to have negative thoughts is beyond me and if you’re evil.
I never understood why he was so jealous of me. I mean he was jealous that me and my kids got SS income from losing their dad. He would always call it “free money.” Someone died for that money, it wasn’t free money!! My deceased husband’s mom bought me a cell phone for my birthday and he was so jealous, he went out and bought a bigger one and had to show me how much bigger it was. Same thing with my mom buying me a tablet one year, he had to go out and buy a bigger one. Just a very immature attitude towards things. That was an awful 6 years of my life!!! He was mean, he would hold things like intimacy over my head, always put me down in front of my kids; I’m still struggling to regain my confidence because he always told me, no one would want me with 4 kids. Now he lives with his mom and maybe he felt inadequate because he didn’t have anything?? He met me, a vulnerable grieving mother with a house and a van; he still doesn’t have his own vehicle!! Unfortunately I don’t look better now 😢 but one day I will!! I know he’s mad about my new van and he didn’t buckle his sons car seat in on purpose the last time he dropped him off. He’s a very vindictive, mean, angry little man!!! After almost 9 months, he finally got his own car seat and called mine dirty and old, he said “we don’t need that dirty old thing anymore” when he was riding with his mom to pick up our son. She won’t let him drive her vehicle. Anyway sorry this comment is so long, I’m so thankful for this channel because it’s very healing for me after getting out of that relationship!!! He left 4 months after my brother died. I think he struggled with his sexual preference honestly.

This is several women in my family. This is their behavior towards me. I am now “no contact” after they scapegoated me and turned family against me. They all deserve each other. I’m glad I’m different.
Great message. When I left the Narc I continued to do by myself what we used to do together which is buying hay ( I’m not set up to make hay yet ) and selling it. I don’t think IT was too happy about that especially since I kept some of our customers. And I was selling better hay than ITs crappy weedy and often moldy hay. I know I have a huge advantage being able to connect with people . I look right through the x Narc and don’t react if I see IT in town with a new supply and hauling hay with the old junkie horse trailer that IT painted nice and shiny. And I think to myself. You can put lipstick on a pig but you still got a pig .
It felt like dating a frenemy. There were so many times she claimed I did things that I did not and I always would feel this sense of she was jealous of me. And I had felt it before with many former “friends” who were never my friends to begin with. But dating a person who is jealous of you because of who you are is awful. It’s like dating your bully. I never thought I was better than her once and never acted like I was better (in fact I don’t think that way at all). But now I realize I am actually better than her in the sense that I don’t do what she and other narcs do to people. They are literally the devil in the flesh masquerading as something they could never be.
Thank goodness I do not have envy and jealousy. Blows my mind away to try to understand how a narc man could be envious and jealous of his lady. So odd to me. I totally concur, Paula. I remember well how he set up my bicycle accident. My leg was shredded and became infected with Staph. Came very close to amputation. He was euphoric playing the carer and making the family think he really cared. After the discard I began to think he also suffers from Munchaussen by Proxy because of all his diabolical acts upon my well being over the years.
It actually is a form of 1000 by proxy if you think about it they drown you to save you John you to save you mine put a broken propane tank in my car think gotta didn't like a cigarette that day.
I had to ask Jesus for forgiveness, because I was so ungrateful and complained about myself. Then when the narcist tried to hurt me and steal my identity. I had to ask God to forgive and say thank you for making me, me.
They actually sleep very badly. And that you said about how you slept so good and he not, I recognized very well in my ex girlfriend's comment about my sleep.
They don't sleep because when they dream it is the subconcious which processes the truth and analylises the day's reality ..which is there evil deeds..so when they dream it is a form of self reflection.(there nightmare)
My ex narc husband was a pathological liar who lived a double life. I never knew a person could be so cruel. He never slept and was on his phone all night. I could never make rhyme or reason of him after we married his while personality started to change. He always wanted to be alone and sleep in the guest bedroom.
They play the victim after destroying you then try and come back so they can do it again we are their victims they abuse us you try and make a break for it and they try with their hoovering when you knock them back get ready for the vitriol the behaviour is off the scale disgusting it always amazes me how they try to turn it around after 3 decades i feel damaged by it all I just want to live the rest of my life in peace being on my own is more important to me than being with a bully

I have dealt with this 3 times this week Paula in 3 seperate situations . Your so right , they are so devious , and underhanded, and envious . Sneaky little ways they , undermine , belittle , and they subtly try to defame , and disqualify . In the one instance they attempted to create the illusion, I was difficult , and disagreeable , no just realistic , and aware , but they create a false impressions if allowed . The next they accused me of being a troll from someone else's camp ,but it was only to attempt to , disqualify , and as they often do if you can't disqualify the message , then they try to destroy the messenger . The last instance , they while giving the appearance , of being supportive, there was a underlying, consistent one upmanship little things they kept pointing out , a air of domineering , superiority .under the guise of encouragement, and support , but it was done in a very demeaning way . They would correct , when it wasn't necassary . I actually purposely tested them three times , just unimportant little things , details that had no bearing on what was being discussed , and yes each time they couldn't resist the opportunity , to demonstrate their prowess , and superiority. The ; See i am smarter , though that isn't the purpose of the group . Join menza if you want to demonstrate your intellectual prowess . In the first case , I simply pointed out the situation , and the restraints , that had nothing to do with , being disagreeable, or difficult . Reality , no one should be caused duress for not paying for what someone else desires . The second instance I merely stated whatever , not my issue . If a narcissist could be honest , they would tell you whatever is how they recieve anything you have to say , and if they decided to make something a issue , you better treat it as such , who do you think you are ? How dare you ? Lol . As in was in front of a audience , and to maintain their image , they left . Lastly , no didn't take them to task , I waited , and pointed out a glowing inconsistency between what they promoted , and what they were teaching , and excused myself , as I could clearly see , this person's complete fakery . I was taught or learned that compromise is key , I now know , when someone repeatedly offends , or grossly offends , do not get in the pen , with them , do not look to them to acknowledge , or , confirm . They count on you to do that , recognize it , and act on it accordingly. Liars deny themselves that priviledge , I know I wasn't being difficult or disagreeable , I know I wasn't a troll sent from another camp , I know I am not here , to provide others , what they should be paying for themselves, and I know when someone is being deceptive , manipulative , and abusive . Takes practice , as I spent so many years , explaining , enduring , being the peace maker , and with narcissists dare you show the smallest inconsideration , or not take into account , how important their feelings are , this while they are using you to wipe the bottoms of their muddy shoes . So very true! What boggles my mind is that he loved those qualities about me in the beginning and those very qualities he ended up hating me for. He became very jealous and envious of me and would put me down and belittle me for just being myself! So strange! This is one of my very favourite videos. So insightful! I say the same thing. They grow to hate you for the same things that attracted them to you. They deplete you completely of everything, then dump you for a new victim. It’s incredible
They know exactly what they are doing. My older sister has always pretty much said what she wanted to, regardless if it was going to hurt feelings or not. She has commented that on a trip out of town with someone, things went good because she kept her mouth shut. She never learned her lesson though. I am now no contact because I couldn't do her any longer.

I don't mean to keep writing. I know what you say is correct. I thank God I do not think like these people. And, I had a big smear campaign. Used to bother me, but gave it to God and if people want to believe that nonsense then that is their choice. They are not too smart to not realize that the other party played a significant part also.
My ex was so cruel I can't figure out if she was narcissistic or a sociopath it was that bad. We lived together and had two dogs from being puppies. During the discard she sold my five month old cockapoo to friends of the new supply whIlst I was at work on a 12hr shift. I work in the NHS. That's not just narcissistic. I begged and pleaded with her not to do anything with my dog but she went ahead regardless and without saying anything to me until my dog was on her way to her new owners and I was still at work and unable to stop it. That's not just narcissistic surely? She had zero concern as to how it would affect me. I've never been so heartbroken in my life. She sold her for £850. She was only a puppy and had really bonded with me and likewise. Please can you tell me what kind of person thinks it's ok to do this kind of thing? I try to see the best in everyone but this was just evil. I've never come to terms with it.
Sounds like she did it deliberately to hurt you, it sounds like she wanted to hurt you, please note she will treat other people in the same way. If the dog was a pedigree, it may of had pappers saying so. If there is a paper trail to prove ownership, then if you can prove the dog was yours, then perhaps the police may of been able to help you? When I was 18, my first dog was stolen while I went into a Post Office by 2 men who had a van. I never got my dog back. If the dog was microchipped it my also prove who the owner was. Your ex sounds like a cruel person and you are much better without someone like that in your life. It is very important to heal before you go into another relationship. Sorry this has happened to you.
TY, It is okay to have bad and good days. You don't have to remain in a negative state all day long. You can redirect yourself to an enjoyable activity to shift your mood unless you are actively engaging in processing trauma. No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. Don't take other people projections personal. May you maintain your own identity and your own truth and your own boundaries/preferences and values. May you continue to heal and individuate. This has really helped me sort where I fall in both category of character and spectrum of my deficits. I have lived in a stew of everything from psychopaths to fair weather people....all the categories in between...and me with my own diagnosis of borderline schizophrenia in my teens thru my 20's. My emotional disregulation was both my defense and downfall. I have somehow pieced myself together with both spiritual disciplines and a little therapy, just enough to drift over to the empathic landscape. Only now am I able to understand the scope of what you bring us. Timing is amazing. One month ago even, this would have been over my head...oh, and I have refused their medication for several decades. That enslaved me me the strongest.

With my ex, he has burnt so many bridges in his small community, he can’t smear me. His family protects me in a sense that he k Les he can’t run me down because they know he is lying. We have no mutual friends, mainly because he has none, so no flying monkeys. I have him blocked so he won’t have any line of sight to my happier life!
I showed love and emotion, and got called weak minded. Would ask for his advice. To be told "I can only give you a hr of my time to protect my energy" got called selfish for raising an issue from a nasty txt, wh😮he turned around on me. And when he sent the nasty txt, he said he had to take an anxiety tablet! Breadcrumbing also. Would read my txts but not reply and in the end would only call once a week.
yes the narc said the pet was dieing and I took the bait .... and she triangulated me with that new supply and I did not get to see the sick pet . the new supply asked to the narc right there like I was a statue in Egypt .. she said to narc , " is that her ?" and that narc said yehhhhh thats her . Then the narc said you need to leave . i said what about the dog . narc said no . can you believe that lunacy ... really the new supply walked right up to my car window when I pulled up and gawked at me bc she is under that control of that narc . i am already seeing there has been seem stress over there bc that new supply looks sucked dry in all the wromg ways already .. I found out that he has been able to ensnare a new victim and in the end she may be playing him. She is overseas and is probably looking for a green card. I found out because someone who I thought was my friend called and told me. I will no longer take this person's calls.

He insisted that I make my peanut butter and jelly sandwich exactly like he did, when I had been making my own pb&j’s for 40 years!! I was getting resented and anger because he didn’t like the way I made my sandwiches!!
