I was just here with my family last week from the U.S.. What an amazing structure! Excellent view and history inside of Scotland's heros. 256 stair steps to the top - very narrow spiral staircase. Quite an accomplishment for the time and fitting monument for William Wallace and others.
Its beautiful. Im Native American i always admired Scotland and Ireland. I love the castles and green land. The castles are amazing. I could just stare at them all day.
This is the first time I've looked at footage of the monument. I was there in 98 with my wife a few days after we were wed in a castle SW of Edinburgh. You couldn't drive up to it then. I recall the wind at the top was like a small tornado. I remember everything about that trip, including the walk up those stairs. Lost her to a car accident 9 years later. Life kind of ended then. Wish I could go back there and the other places we visited.
While one is watching this, one is looking down upon the modern town of Stirling. But while watching, it tends to make one drift back in time to an age when there were warriors who battled against tyranny and oppression for causes they believed in.
Very Special! I finally made the trip. Like going home! Thank You. Ps. Nice your honoring James Horner's sound track. I meet him right before Braveheart came out in the movies. We had a talk about music. Did not know he wrote the soundtrack. Until I was in the movie theater. My favorite soundtrack ever. And my favorite movie. We miss you James! R.I.P
Brilliant video in every aspect. The last piece of music...whenever i hear it, it reminds me of all the lost soles, crying for help . Very moving ! Thank you for a great video.
That's absolutely beautiful. I would love to see that, I love that movie braveheart, the music is so pretty. I am part Welsh, and Scottish. Beautiful place
I am looking to be there soon , I never was in Scotland but yet I have Wallace's as my relatives and Murray , Kennedy , Monroe , McCombs. Pipes they sound good , very good.
Sir William Wallace faught and died for his absolutely beautiful country, his rights as Scotsman and as human being. We English were arss wipes back then. Braveheart may not be all accurate, but it introduced me too Sir William Wallace and his passion and relentless fight for what his by God. He died a horrible death but Scotland won their freedom against English in 1314 at battle of Bannockburn. His legacy and Robert the Bruce will live on forever, and rightly so. Xxx
I am from Spain. The history of Scotland is amazing. Free scotland. you are not English. Scotland must be independent. And be a country that belongs to the EU. You must fight to honor those Scots who fought for your freedom from the English yoke. Scotland was a kingdom and must once again be free from English clutches. Long live Scotland from Spain. Fight for your just independence from England.
Accidenti che spettacolo...awesome landscape from here,,very tall tower,, oh that is Stirling? i thought it were more big,,look as a lovely town..i'll come here..
I was there as a young man. Very Stirring. I still don't understand the Scot's relationship with the English, however. They fought for their freedom from the English in the 13th century under Wallace, finally winning freedom under Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. The English were back somehow for many years. Then the Scottish Highlanders were defeated in a brutal slaughter at Culloden in 1746 that saw the extermination of the Clan System, the wearing of the Clan Tartans, and even the prohibition of the playing of Bagpipes. It was a brutal reign by the English, yet the Scots keep coming back to England and the British Empire. In a recent referendum, they STILL voted to remain in the British Empire rather than be free. Is it resources, a standing army? What keeps the Scots coming back for domination?
I m not Scotish.....i m a Greek....and i can feel this....... we have many similar points with Scotland ! i mean look tha national flag of Greece and Scotland's! or tradiotional Greek Macedonian dance with Scottish bagpipes /watch?v=Lj0emJ_Vqb4 GREEKS AND SCOTTISH ARE BROTHERS!!

ACTUALLY I AM RELATED TO WILLIAM WALLACE' HIS OLDER BROTHER WAS MY 9TH GREAT GRANDFATHER AND DIED AT THE TOWER OF LONDON 2 YEARS AFTER WILLIAM WALLACE DIED; AND I AM ALSO RELATED TO ROBERT THE BRUCE; AND TO LONGSHANKS THE KING OF ENGLAND AT THE TIME! WHICH FREAKED ME OUT; AND I GUESS THAT IS WHY THE MOVIE AFFECTED ME SO STRONGLY!
wow... i cant believe they ruined that monument by putting technology and shit inside of it. Theres fucking TVs in there too?! disrespectful. that man sacraficed himself for their counrty and they dishonor his monument like that? thats fucked up dude...
Had the privelage of being here twice...and theres more to come! Edit: there were renovations being done to the top the last time, so I wasn't able to climb all the steps.
