Austin Reaves had the nickname "Hillybilly Kobe" in college and even in the early days of his career for the Los Angeles Lakers. Once he hit a game-winner against the Dallas Mavericks in December 2021, though, people realized he wasn't just an undrafted rookie but a serious player who could hit shots in the clutch. Thus, Reaves has been known by the nickname "AR-15" after the famous rifle, or just "AR" for short, ever since. He could be the start of the next Andy Hoops video: "Players Who Reinvented Their Already Famous Nickname." 🏀🏆
