Even though I was extremely lucky to get this game a few months ago, Klogg's defeated scream of "KLAYMEN, NOOOOOO!!!!" sent shivers down my spine. I mean even when Klogg is defeated he's still drips evilness in his words.
The story is presented and layered so cleverly. There's this amazing sense of immersion when you realize both you and Klayman are experiencing the Never Hood for the first time.
I swear it's the only game where I watched the whole credits with a big enjoyment. Interesting thing is that you need to watch these credits playng a CD version, this adds some lag and credits start to show in a right way. For example, Dreamworks screen shows right on breakdown, and there's a moment when you see weasel sketch, last verse (with shouting) kicks in, and after 3 seconds you see the sketch of frightened Klaymen. Gives some strong feelings!
Agree 100%. In an industry that typically pins only the epic, orchestra-heavy soundtracks as 'great,' the soundtrack to this game stands as one of the best and most unique collections of tunes ever created for a game. Seriously one of my favorite soundtracks.
Its too bad that adventure games like the Neverhood were never that popular, there are great stories writing, humor, and puzzles. That and alot more creative design goes into these games than what you see now.
i love the credit song! it's my favorite song all the time! Contemplating Klaymen Clitton Klatton Klogg We behold it's Hoborg Big Robot Bill is odd! The Clockwork Beast and Frenchy guy are with them Hard to see: Crit Unit "A" Oh what a day! He joins Crit Unit "B" At the Neverhood The Neverhood The Neverhood! lyrics of it ^^
I have this whole scene memorized, my brother and I used to play it when we were young. We always say "I know what youre thinking and you can forget it!' We're 17 and 19 now though :P
That one is my favorite song in the entire soundtrack! Never woulda understood the lyrics without looking them up tho. BEST puzzle game EVER!!!! :D soo hard first time around.
You know, today being 20 years old i realised what neverhood was about. Claymen felt lonely. Thats why he was so sad when he lost robo-bill short before final of the game. And in the end, he did last to see whole kingdom full of other claymens. Man, this game is about getting homies. Bro, i think im gonna cry.
The neverhood will go down as one of the best entartainment devices of history and is the best computer game of all time without a doubt. what saddens me is games like this are becoming rarer and cames like MOH and COD are taking it over
@Daniel0889 That's what makes him so awesome though. We could really experience the effect of the eerily silent Neverhood for ourselves through Klaymen, rather than having a bunch of dialogue distract us.
@tigerlilja1 I don't think so. The only reason Klogg offered the crown to Klaymen was to keep him from finding it on his own and giving it to Hoborg. Klogg hoped that the crown would tempt Klaymen as much as it had him and Klaymen would meet the same fate, and Klogg would have another person to rule over. I think bypassing that and just giving the crown back to Klogg would have made him jump right out of his skirt.

We could try, but I don't know a lot about the copyright and stuff. Yeah, on wikipedia it says: "A feature film based on The Neverhood is currently being created at Frederator Films, with Doug TenNapel directing." Maybe we can find his e-mail or website and ask him!
