This little monster truck has features that the Traxxas 1/16 Erevo and 1/14 Savage Flux XS don't!. This could be the best mini monster truck yet!

MJX, Croboll and Rlaarlo make some great small scale stuff comparable to this one. I have a 1/16 kraton knock off from Hyper Go and a 1/14 Buggy from Rlaarlo. They are both amazing and very durable.
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
Those are definitely cool cars but they're a fair amount smaller than this and the increase in size really helps with where you can run it. I have the similarly sized Savage XS and it's a lot more versatile than the 1/16 cara

@@vivos71 Don't get me wrong they're pretty good The lower shock eyes are kind of junk, the steering is pretty bad, the steering links pop out, the servos kind of a pain, the slipper clutch isn't the best etc but most of those things can be pretty easily corrected. I've actually got a pile of parts waiting to go in mine That will fix most of those problems and I will be making a video on it at some point.

You really need to try lc racing with plastic chassis and carbone chassis brace, it's the really best small size actually on the market 😉
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
Lc racing cars really are awesome but they are smaller than this car. The larger size really gives you an advantage in where you can bash.
@seriaocsis
@seriaocsis Год назад
@@DoRC I'm really sorry, I have both of them, I know them very well, compare 14 mt and lc mt, they are exactly the same size, same wheelbase, same width, but lc have more ground clearance, compare 14 t and lc t, lc is bigger wheelbase, bigger width, bigger ground clearance, for large place or "big" grass I use lc, for smaller place and really "small" grass I use 14t, the big difference is reflex have center differential and lc have slipper clutch, so it's always more easy to drive with center differential. Also for "hard" bash plastic chassis of reflex is better,and this is why I put plastic chassis on mines lc. I love both, and this is just my opinion 😁
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
Hmm. According to the specs the 14mt is an inch longer than the LCmt. That being said it's been a long time since I've had an lc racing car and I was picturing them being the standard 1/16 size like the 16889. They are closer in size than I remembered. I do know the lc cars are very good quality. Assuming the 14mt is good it'll be interesting competition at a bit less money than the lc mt.
@seriaocsis
@seriaocsis Год назад
@@DoRC I'm agree, you save money with reflex, for my opinion we can't just look for specs, cause reflex length include front bumper and rear wheelie bar, to compare two models we need to look for wheelbase ☺️

It's kind of a different application. This size of vehicle is really great for being able to take essentially anywhere. Because it's so small it just looks like a little toy and places where you would normally get kicked out running even a 1/10 scale car won't even look twice at something this size. I run vehicles like this in campgrounds and parks etc and I have never had a problem.

Nice Vid - thanks. The Price is a little bit high for the size. There are a lot of other Cars in this size - MJX got a good MT - Hyper Go, for half the Price. But it is cool, to have more cars in this size. Like you say - put it in yout car (or your Bagpack) and have fun 🤘
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
The little car is like the hyper go ravage 16889 pro etc are definitely cool but this is quite a bit bigger than those. Those cars usually around 9 in in length and this one is over 12in in length. It's also wider taller and has larger tires. In my experience that additional size makes it much more versatile because it can handle a lot of terrain that the smaller cars just aren't fun to drive on. It is more expensive but you're getting a lot larger vehicle for that price.
@buttracerrc
@buttracerrc Год назад
@@DoRC thanks for the Info 👍 I did Not the wheelbase in the Infos. The hyper Go Cars are 175mm. But what is the Team Asso?
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
I don't see the exact number but it looks like around 200 mm. I was just doing some more research and I didn't realize that MJX also did 1/14th scale cars I was looking at the 1/16th. It looks like they're 1/14th scale cars are just a little bit smaller than the team associated. The team associated car is a bit more expensive but I would hope that you'd be getting more quality for that price. I have used the 1/16 hyper goes and they're pretty good but I haven't really messed with the larger ones.

This looks pretty cool especially at that price point. Do you know if this is made by Associated or just branded by them like the MT10?
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
I'm honestly not sure. I think the empty 10 is actually made by associated. I think they bought the design from helion but I could be wrong about that. It does have some similarities to the MT-10 so I'm guessing whoever makes one probably makes the other. And yeah it's very cool I can't wait to get one!
@FlailinMonkey
@FlailinMonkey Год назад
@@DoRC Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if Associated were just rebranding the Helion Avenge or if they had bought the rights and were manufacturing the the MT10 themselves. I was checking out some of the pictures on the Team Associated web page and I imagine the 14MT shares a lot of parts with the other vehicles but I did notice the chassis isn't the same as the buggy or truggy. I think the Associated 14 vehicles look pretty good but I haven't owned any of them, the 14MT is tempting me to change that. I have a LC Racing 1/14 EMB Truggy and I love the thing it's extremely fun to bash around and very durable. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from you on the 14MT.
@seriaocsis
@seriaocsis Год назад
I love both but I prefer lc racing, best drive train, best differential, very best shocks, support 1/10 buggy wheels, maintenance easy, I use it with plastic chassis and it's really strong, Team associated better on small place, and advantage with center differential, I think 14mt don't have full metal differential, just gear and pignon

@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
Honestly it's probably going to walk all over it. The 1/16th Traxxas platform has some pretty serious weaknesses. I've had several of them over the years and I always end up just selling them again because they're too much of a pain to work on and too fragile.

@@DoRC Thanks for the reply! I'm really wanting an easy to transport 1/12 or 1/14 solid basher. I've been leaning toward the Savage XS. People swear by the LC racing 1/14 stuff too... Or this one. Parts support would probably be best with Team Associated out of all of them. Decisions decisions! Thanks for the vids!
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
@@RippinBlastinSlashin something like the 16889 pro that I showed would be a really good option. It's not perfect but it's been around a long time as a platform and there are parts and upgrades available from lots of different sources. The flux XS is a good truck with some improvements I'm actually going to be making a video on it hopefully soon. I just need to find the time. It is a bit bigger than the other vehicles listed which is nice. All that being said the 14MT is certainly not a bad vehicle and I don't think that you would regret buying one.

@@hiramrodriguez4323 It's actually a couple inches and it's in every direction. The 116th scale vehicles are actually quite a bit smaller than these. Yes they're cheaper but in my experience not nearly as capable due to their smaller size.
@hiramrodriguez4323
@hiramrodriguez4323 Год назад
@DoRC just because of the tires. I put proline trenchers on it, and it's 9.3 inches wide. It's 2 inches shorter. Big deal, it's actually better to lug with you. It's on 3s. It has 2.5 inches of ground clearance. The tires make all the difference. I launch it off of my freashpark kicker ramp, and she keeps going. I actually been considering this, though, but idk if it's really that much of an improvement over what I got. The price is good, though.
@DoRC
@DoRC Год назад
@@hiramrodriguez4323 Yeah it mostly is ground clearance based on the tires. I haven't really messed with the MJX ones but I found that the other ones I had didn't really like larger tires.

Maybe. This fills a niche that neither one of those can. There's places you can bash small vehicles that you really can't get away with larger vehicles and they can be a lot of fun. Whether or not it's any good remains to be seen though.
