The New 4 Point Line Could Ruin The NBA 

The 3-point shootout has already become a circus with the money ball rack and the Mountain Dew balls. We don't need a circus during the games, also.

Good idea… but the 4 point line is more of a shocking outcome

I see the logic, but bad idea. Players aldeady have a ton of space. Increasing the size of the court will only make iso plays way more common. The best basketball is played as a team.

You know how exhausted the players would be? 😂 That would mean changing the time system, eliminating 4 quarters and implementing the NCAA for two 20mins quarters.

yep this is the only way it would work is if they add it to half court. This would add a "hail mary" effect into the game.

Aren't there already many late shots from deep, so this would add points to shots that are already common?

I miss more mid range and plays on the paint. You don't see anyone trying to play like The Dream anymore. Just 3 points or dunks. Boring.

I mean you'd have to be open to shoot a 4 pointer anyways as good as these guys are I don't see guys like Damian Lillard and James harden hitting step back 4 pointers from 50 ft away on a consistent basis unless they're open

@@alphinmesa9945 So then don't shoot step backs. It's not like players were doing step back threes on the regular before anyways. The game evolves so they'll probably just evolve again and find what works for 4 pointers. Besides plenty of guys take threes now anyways without trouble from the defense. Other than it being further away, I don't see why that would be different with 4 pointers.

They do that in the ABA, as well as an added point value in transition for every live ball turnover. Pacing is furious but very fun to watch

I like the 4-point circles in Big3. By being in a few specific spots, it makes it easier for defenders to anticipate and defend against 4-pointers. It makes it a lot harder than just needing to make a long shot.

Good point. Mid range is a losing strategy as it stands. And when you're moving it out, also remove the extra close 3 pointers from the sideline.

the game was fine pre 2000's they destroyed the nba a long time ago this is why they want the 4pt line no one is watching the nba's bull shit anymore at least not like they used to they're attempting to bring in viewers because they're desperate for it, what we need to do is put these players in reality check and stop giving them so much damn money players are millionaires before even touching an nba court nowadays that is ridiculous you wanna make the nba interesting again take about 70 percent of the money away give them something to work for why put in an effort if your gonna be rich no matter what the wnba players don't get paid shit and they still play we won't lose basketball by taking a lot of that money away people will always wanna play the game but they need to feel like they have to earn what they're making there is to many guarantees

Honestly, when you say 6v6 that's an intriguing idea. Imagine the NBA with 6 guys on the floor lol, it would at least help bring defense back, also would look pretty cool to see 6 guys on the floor and the way they would space them out, it would be similar to hockey in that aspect. Plus it would add more NBA jobs since teams would now have to add at least 2-3 more guys to the roster for a 6th man and their backup. With 30 teams you're adding at least 60 more NBA jobs. Now as I imagine a 6v6 league with the ball moving around with a LOT more spacing similar to hockey and potentially moving anywhere from the paint down to the 4pt specialist out by the 4 point line I could potentially see them even shortening the shot clock to speed the game up. It sounds like a crazy idea to imagine and unfortunately may never happen, but I could imagine that league looking pretty cool

they still have to play D tho. and scoring 2 layups/dunks is still way easier compared to making 1 logo shot so IMO, its perfectly justified. old heads keep vilifying long range shooters like "iT tAKes nO sKIIll" but then glorify players like shaq/lebron(miami)/giannis who literally just bodies defenders like a truck and then dunks.

There used to be 3 point specialists like Craig Hodges that couldn’t do much else, but I think a 4 point line would be silly.
