@@pikaachoo3888 Flight performance is becoming increasingly irrelevant each patch. Missiles matter more. You aren't getting consistent 6 or 7 kill games with the F-15, quite easy with the SU-27

@PhoBos_____ I merge a lot but I just don't engage in a dogfight because I don't always need to, getting third partied happens regardless of performance but getting energy back quickly and not losing as much of it definitely helps. If the enemy is extending then don't chase them if there's more on their team, but either way performance will help when chasing someone and r73s really haven't been a problem unless I'm not paying attention as it should be. Just preflare before they launch to avoid the fov gating entirely, and don't go one circle with aircraft yk will win it

@@InterstellarTaco the thing is having good 1v1 performance doesnt really matter in current air rb matches. i dont care how good your plane is if your team gets wiped due to them all dying to r27ers and ets. the f15s just don't have the capability to get those numbers down in the start that the su27 does. BVR matters because your average war thunder player will die to r27ers in the 1st 2 minutes of the match and then your team is already down to 4 players by the time you get within range to use flight performance. or atleast thats what happens to me

⁠​⁠@@DigitalShaolinwell actually most of the times opposite happens, no one dies to 27ER cause that’s literally impossible to get killed by that missile if you’re low and all your team members are hugging the ground and 1 minute after start of the match your team or other just make about 10 kills in 10 seconds with 9Ms/AAM3s cause it’s broken for 16v16 and I really feel bad for those who don’t have that missile cause in current 16v16 the target have to pull hard(except headon situations) to get out of the 9Ms seeker after flaring so then the targets are too slow to dodge another one (especially su-27s that are losing all of their speed in half-a-turn and after dodging a single 9M are unable to dodge even a gun), the only plane that feel kinda not that bad in the current top tier mess is gripen

@@СергейНикольский-я2цThe problem is American teams can’t fly low, can’t pre-flare etc… So the bots in the lobby die to the enemies bots so their good players are fighting against the enemies good players + bots. It created a negative feedback loop where it feels as if the plane is bad due to people on the team not learning high br skills & not respecting weapon systems such as SARHs. Of course the ER/ET is very very good but they’re not this undodgable monster I mean RU and CN teams have to fight them every game (due to teams in top tier air being like an ace combat lobby) and dodge them consistently it’s just US players that cannot.

For the ET just be attentive and flare at a far enough range, don't let it get too close to your exhaust

Any radar missile, hug the ground or notch+chaff if you are high altitude. For IR missiles with gatewidth IRCCM like R-73, R;27ET, Magics, cut burner, turn slightly towards the missile and flare and avoid getting launched at below 1.5 km and rear aspect. For Suspension type IRCCM (AAM-3, AIM-9M) Flare then change direction

Yeah, and taking only 20min internal fuel is very important. I’ve also noticed that the center fuel tank doesn’t impact manoeuvrability that much unlike the wing mounted ones which decrease roll rate a lot.

​@@stoyantodorov2133I noticed this too, at this point I'm bringing Min fuel with all 3 tanks, dump the outer ones on merge, and that still leaves me with enough most of the time. If it gets bad, can then dump the centreline.

He indeed tried to force a one circle fight, converting his energy into nose position in order to get a high aspect shot. Defyn quickly responds by denying him, instead forcing a two circle vertical spiral as he of course knows that delta wing relies on cashing in potential energy for nose position. By forcing the two circle fight the J8F was already dead as he over committed and never had a chance to begin with. He then quickly and mercilessly whoops his ass. Beautiful.

Pretty much. The F-15A feels like a UFO with how absurd the thrust to weight ratio is. You can literally accelerate on a high angle climb with fuel tanks and bombs lmao. The F-15 is a Mustang to the Su-27's A6M Zero. You just abuse your ridiculous energy and thrust advantage and dance around everyone

​@@pikaachoo3888I'd argue the Su-27 ain't even a Zero. It's more like dogfighting in an IL-2. You get 1 decent turn before you fall out of the sky, but in that one turn you have firepower for days. As long as people use their 2 braincells you are dead--otherwise it's back to the hangar for them.

If you merge right the su27 will at best get to fire one r73 at you which you can easily pre flare In a dogfight the su27 is absolutely nowhere vs the entire lineup

Su-27 has a MiG-21 F13 flight model right now. It's a one turn plane that loses the one turn against basically everything in the game. The only reason people have issues with it is because they're at like 1500 meters getting R-27ER'd or they don't have the awareness to preflare an R-73 or R-27ET. A thousand times it's been said--good guns (or missiles in this case) doesn't make a plane good. It takes a combination of things.

​@DEFYN yeah, from what ive gathered, Gaijin is using a far too low oswalds coefficient or whatever its called that essentially is how they measure energy retention. Iirc its in the mid-upper 0.40s on the su 27 when really test data estimates it at 0.7-0.75

@@DEFYN you’re not entirely wrong for sure. But the fact of the matter is, nobody really seems to preflare in top tier for some reason. And right now the matches are so heavily scued towards the SU27 playstile and teams, that it actually manages really well. Another thing is, if you gp into a squad of 2 or more of those things, they become really dangerous. But yes, against a skillfull player, the su27 is the second worst top tier jet. Just better than the mig29smt 😂

Are you climbing off the runway for BVR at the beginning of matches instead of deck hugging? I keep getting skill issued when I try climbing at match start

Sparrows can only get a bar kill if the enemy is absolutely oblivious, because they are SO easy to hitch

@@TruthAndReconciliation yes, I side climb to the side and go at 9/10km alt, pick up the speed to mach 1.2-1.4 and loft sparrows. Works really good. I play ADF and I win fights Against Su-27's and F-15's

@@commander843 yes, if someone is really experienced and know how to defeat a 7M, you wont get a kill above 30km range. I had some crazy kills, when even tho guy went straight to the ground, Missile was so fast it was able to hit him, and it was a over 40km shot

@@_lo8241 Do you know which aircraft the f-15 was dogfighting with? These were the mig-23s, 21s and other 3rd gens, of course, it had a huge advantage over them. But the f-15 hasn't won a single dogfight against any 4th gen aircraft (maybe only f-14). And I'm not saying the f-15 is bad, because it clearly isn't, but what the f-15 excels at is bvr, not dogfight. The Su-27 was built about 9 years after the f-15, of course, they built it so that it could win a dogfight with the f-15 (and at that time the bvr was still not that advanced, since there were no good fox 3 missiles). The Su-27 has one of the most (if not the most) advanced integrated aerodynamic layouts (lifting body) ever created, which means that it loses much less speed while turning, especially at high aoa. The only advantage of the f-15 over the Su-27 is a higher twr, but when the f-15 begins to turn, this advantage is offset by a worse aerodynamic scheme than that of the su. F-15 can beat su-27 in a dogfight, but only in some very specific situations, for example, when f-15 maintains speed around 1000 kmh in 2C fight, but I don't think it's possible to maintain that kind of speed when a flanker is constantly firing guns and missiles at you...

The Su-27 is just a better 29, more missiles and better flight performance. The SMT has a better radar yes but you only get 2 ERs to take advantage of that vs 4. The 27 is just a better 29 no reason to go back.

The Problem with the Su-27 is that Gaijin made the Automatic Flaps none toggle able meaning every time you turn you lose energy because of a feature you have no control over. On top of that the Su-27 Wing Slats Extends 30 Degrees, which is meant for landing, not turning, overall the Flanker would be performing slightly better then an F-15A, Gaijin just messed up the wing configuration implementation. (There is already a bug report under way for this btw) The Flanker still beats the Mig-29s Either Way.

They both pull the same and they’re both fast and have range, but the Aam3 is better in a few areas. It has ECCM, it turns immediately off the rail, and it’s smokeless (which is very useful in ground rb and sim)

I hate flying it. Yes, its missiles are amazing, but flight performance is horrible. I lose almost every dog fight, especially with f 15 and the m4k.

Try to put a few teammates between you and the enemy. Usually the majority of players go left after taking off from their airfield. So stay somewhat left or right of the gaggle of teammates and just pick off people who try to fight them.
