You really are the gift that keeps on giving! Can't wait to play Valheim again - I just wish you add a payment option for servers you can play with friends that is always online ^^ hate going to sketchy websites to make it happen.
@@logic9436I was able to run my own personal Valheim server on a raspberry pi 4. If you’re willing to invest a little bit of money and some time configuring everything it is possible to run a multiplayer server without having to pay a monthly subscription. Hope this is helpful.
"I followed a false destiny, and it gave me nothing but ruin. Forgive me, my love..." has to be the hardest, most heartwrenching quote from a talking boss head
i imagine it'll be something ice or metal related similar to how we got the new stone pieces from ashlands. it'd be cool to build an ice tower or a ice viking long hall.
Ah it's Grausten, it's probably referring to "Gråsten" which means "Grey stone". Grey clay is common here in Sweden and I assume the vikings probably used it aswell.
I like how well these new pieces represent a sort of technological progress compared to the previous ones. They're more refined and pristine, and they invite the player to refine their builds as well. It feels like you entered a new time period. I have this headcanon of your character spending essentially centuries in Valheim in what feels like days for the player because it's basically purgatory and he doesn't age or die. It would explain lore wise how he's able to create and advance so much.
I wonder if this new wood gets grody in rain like the old wood. Would be nice to have an option for decks. I'm hoping they release the more sophisticated roof options for the other roof constructions.
I was surprised and happy to see the straw too, I’d been using the straw roofing to simulate hay piles on my farms, this will look so much more natural ~
I'm with you on the Mistlands. It was very unenjoyable to traverse. Concept was neat and different but it just wasn't fun for me. This Ashlands update looks far better.
oh, these are amazing. I love the new stone flooring and the detailed floor piece. I can imagine it for a special floor oder as a "roof" peice for agrdens or beds or someting. reelly nice. now I'm excited to tend to my building obsession.
Man this looks great! I use a couple of mods so I'm going to wait for the official patch and mod updates, but man I can't wait to start trying these out!
Does the Lox secure into that boat, or is it just easier to get them on and still a little dodgy? Thanks for showing the new bits, cannot wait to see what you make of them!
HOLY so excited for this update, still gota get to the mistlands tho.. made like 3 new worlds and quit them all at iron, the swamp is truly a test of patience that i dont want to deal with every again, mainly since i'm always so unlucky with finding a swamp with crypts, even found the first crypt after hours of travel and it was the bonemass swamp
They are amazing, can't stop building currently! lol I do however feel like Grausten Roof Ridges should be in the game to bridge the pieces more easily just like with the other roof pieces.
the portal for metals is great... except it comes too late in progression, by the time you're in the ashlands you've already done the majority of your metal farming. and you can't rush it either because of the linear progression, with land bridges to ashlands being removed, you must use a boat, and most boats break in ashlands water.
I think mistlands was so bad for a lot of us is because of the verticallity, not being able to see due to fog is okay but vertical cliffs and other stuff you really dont want to go around since itll take more time than just forcing your way by climbing it is what makes mistlands so god damn annoying for a lot of us glad that ashlands doesnt seem like its that annoying to explore
Incredible pieces but I have counterpoint, castles DO have thicc walls. Its all part of how they did it. I don't think such feeble looking walls for a castle will look right. Its a shame they did not make the traditional brick shapes in this texture as it would be much cooler than the black marble.
They really had no option but to add the metal transit portal, as the majority of players were using mods for no limit portals anyway. What the Devs wish and what the player base wish, are two separate things. The majority of players don't have the free time to spend most of their time sailing around the map transporting metal. When you only have an hour, or less, free time in a day to play computer games, you don't want to spend the majority of it looking at a sail when all you want top do is build stuff. I have only one mod running on my game, and yes, it's restriction free portals.
Blah blah blah, you don't speak for everyone. If you're not able to organize yourself to move the raw ore around cuse of your litmited time that is a YOU problem. They had a choice by sticking to their design but no, they caved to the part time "gamers" who want everything now. SAD.
@@alcovitch Correct, I don't speak for everyone, and neither do you. It's nothing to do with organisation and simply an avoidance of pointless busy work. I play games to relax and have fun and staring at an ocean is not for me when I am here to build. Considering that no limits portals are one of the most popular mods for Valheim, well that speaks for itself. But, well, if you wish to digitally embed pointy sticks in your eyes, then I'll not stop you retreating to your safe space to do so.
12,000 hrs in the game. built thousands of structures. I found the new crafting stations really nice, weapons ok and the ashlands the worst looking biome yet. Unlike you i find the new build pieces bland and boring. I say this because i feel they put no real thought or effort into the new pieces and seems like they just wanted to push something out. "Example" The new Flooring has been in the game since the cave release just re - textured. The hype was not worth the wait and i am a diehard Valheim player.. totally unimpressed with this release. Just my opinion of course. I'll continue to build and play the game in the other biomes as i think they all rock including the Mistlands. If you didn't like mistlands stay clear of ashlands lol.
My biggest complaint with Valheim has been the lack of content between the biome releases. It's been 16 months since the Mistlands update, sure we got Hildir's Quest in-between (totally disappointing IMO) and I would think the very least they could do is release some build pieces along the way while we are waiting for the next biome updates. Is that too much to ask for? I agree about the build pieces need more variety. Is it so hard to take existing pieces and re-texture? How about paint? We already collect different items to make color banners, maybe let us paint our structures?
really really cool.. cannot wait.. Most transporting metals, etc. through portals did not make the game hard it was just annoying and a time sync. Honestly i never felt like the game was hard at all just unnerving the first time through. After the first time game = easy mode. The new changes they did to make the game harder was a nice edition.. getting overwhelmed was the only way to make shit hard imo.
