I just tried this its straight fire. I wasn't even shopping for cologne, just happened to smell it and instantly bought it. It's in a league of it's own as the reviewer stated
Just smelled it for the first time today, I love it, and I don’t agree with him that it leans feminine, I would say it leans masculine, i’m getting a bottle, I think it’s signature scent worthy
I’m 61 and I really like it, as you said it’s something different, it doesn’t have that mall scent. I don’t really get the rose. To me this is a like but not a love yet. I always find it interesting that people always say that they want something different and then when they get it...no, hate it, terrible scent. Another great review Ash, thanks🙏🏻
I'm 23 male, not really masculine and I find it fits me so well , couldn't be more happy that I found this one, nothing too animalic or woody, just enough pepper, resin and musk I love it.
this is easily becoming one of my favorite rose fragrance. Sampled it at Macy's and knew right away that as an older man I could pull this off. Keep up the great reviews.
I normally distance myself from floral fragrances but i actually liked this one. Definitely a strong woody rose note on my skin. Try layering it with your favorite oud fragrance if it's too feminine for you
I just bought (blind buy)Toy Boy and I can confirm that its really doing its own thing xD! I have never smelled anything like it. I pick up the cloves....a lot! So its taking some getting used to. I really cant say I like the opening that much. I would like it more if the tone down the clove and add more pear. However, I do enjoy the dry down a lot more. I bought it from Notino (100ml) for about 45 dollars.
I like this fragrance very much and I have bought it recently, even though sometimes it gives me headache and nausea (perhaps because of the flowers in it?...) Anyway, for me it's a gothic fragrance...A strange and overwhelming note of a powdery dark rose...mixed with magnolia, pink pepper and nutmeg. I don't perceive the other notes! It has something "ecclesiastic" and almost funereal to my nose, but i am a dark soul so i like It :). This is not a Toy Boy... this is a gothic ROSA MYSTICA.
@@IDLFlow after a year i can say that i have no more headache and nausea when I wear this fragrance 😀...now that i used to wear it more often. I always feel it dark and Gothic... I love Toy Boy 😍
wore this for the first time today , very pleasing rose sent , mixed with parma violet . not for everyday use but all in all a solid fragrance . just took a shower and still smelling strong on my skin . definitely not for everyone .
Mine just came in today and I am very pleased with it. I think it's the perfect Fall fragrance. I could see it being used year-round, but personally, I would probably use it just throughout Fall and maybe early "winter" since I live in the South.
Has grown on me too. So much so I've brought a backup bottle for when my first one runs out. Appreciate the fact it does something different than many of the other brands. Especially with its rose note
I just bought & wore this today and wow - I love it! I hear a lot about how unique it is, but after the initial blast, I get a scent that reminds me of a perfume that an ex used to where back in the mid 90’s - either Dior Poison or YSL Paris (I think Paris). But that feminine floral eventually changes to something really magical. I can really see this becoming my signature. If I ever get married, I’d probably be rocking this on the day for sure, as it has that elegance to it too.
I blind bought it based on comments from you and Steven, since I couldn’t find it locally. I got it and LOVED the bottle. Then, I sprayed it and 🌹 🤦♂️🤢. However, after trying it a few more times, it’s slowly growing on me .... very slowly ..... but I must say it is very unique for a designer fragrance.
Akhmad Irfan I don’t have an issue with it being feminine. It’s just that rose is new for me and it’s taking me timing to appreciate it. Too much time. 😁
Very well written review. It is definitely worth a sample. Definitely more feminine and I agree that fragrance enthusiasts will like it more. If you’re a confident guy, then I believe mentally, the person smelling you will see it as unique and intriguing scent. I think a fragrances gender aim is malleable to ones character and personality.
CK One is unisex leaning feminine, CK Be is unisex leaning masculine and CK All is unisex with a balance of masculine & feminine nuances. This is how I generally view unisex fragrances & Calvin Klein is known for putting out unisex fragrances over the years.
I haven’t smelled it but I know about it. A couple of weeks ago I almost bought a mini of it but decided not to because it seems like a big gimmick. Now I’m reconsidering having watched this review and having been in lockdown this week. A clean, bright floral fragrance would probably cheer me up, not to mention I’m sick to death of all the ambroxan, iso-e fragrance bombs out there.
For me it’s the best new fragrance of the year🔥🔥🔥 This is something new. Love it. Beast mode Longevity & projection. Ordered yesterday from Notino (Ukraine) 60$ for 100 ml Ash, Thanks for the video!
Loved it when it first came out, still one of my absolute favourites, it has a duality that is just amazing - I wear it as a man with great confidence, but would equally love it on a woman.✨💙❤️✨
For me, i get a little Lalique White in the opening, with the strong peppery freshness. Then that slowly dissipates but never totally disappears, and it slowly morphs into something similar to my nose to Hermann by Etat Libre d’Orange, just a little more complex and more playful, and not quite as dark as the black bottle would suggest. But still it feels totally unique to me. It has a slightly subversive vibe which I love and is a welcome change from most designer releases. Also seems slightly reminiscent of Marc Jacobs Bang, which is probably because they were both created by the same perfumer.
Had ToyBoy for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. If it feels too feminine for you I would recommend adding some Molecule 01 (iso-E super) it pushes it to the woody side a bit
Grabbed at a discount store for $30 based on reviewers take. Wow! Powerful stuff. Not for everyone, but I’m a big fan. It smells like a masculine version of Penhaligon’s Duchess Rose which my wife has.
I like it a lot. It's cool green wet watery rose bouquet/potpourri, with sweet fruity fresh pear/pear candy, with a pepperiness and an effervescent tea quality to it as well. A fruity peppery rose similar to Rochas Moustache but without the warm vanilla/amber/benzoin. It's a slightly femme leaning unisex fragrance that I can imagine on both younger and mature.
I love this, its literally my everyday scent. Super unique, not a clone of any brands. Alittle playful but its really unique. For me, it lasts 10+ to 12 hours depending on weather conditions. One of the best. Stocked up a few bottles in case it gets discontinued
I just got it at tj max 100ml for forty and I really like it. I wouldn’t have wanted to pay much more than that. You’re the goat fragrance reviewer ash thanks again.
In spite of the ads this fragrance is great : the perfume is fruity, the bottle is original : I think is the most original fragrance since years!👍 Sweet fresh pear 🍐 what else? Well guys try it you will love ❤️ Toy Boy 😊🌻🌹🍇🍐
I really liked it when I did a first impressions video a while back, a unique smelling scent that brings more feminine notes to the masculine market but the only sticking point for me was the price point. I said at the time that I would only look to buy it when the price drops. Great review Ash.
I might buy this. I still buy Moschino uomo it's always in my collection and it always will be. Moschino have always been a bit different. And I like that.
I tried it at the main perfume retailers over here.... it is very different from most of what is in the market right now... very unique... sharp.... mysterious....wild and yes different.
I've been wearing it for a month and it's awesome. Long lasting and awesome dark projecting missile. It's radiating of my hoodie for days now. If only other perfumes have performance like this one that would be perfect! Do not blind buy. I did and didn't regret. Some of my friends don't like it.
I have tried it last month and it was just fine . I did not really feel that I want to buy it but it is not bad. I agree the most noticeable note is Musk for me which is not included officially. It is really unique and nice but no wow factor at all
Id pass Paco Rabanne and Spice Bomb because in my country, here in the Philippines, its tropical. Those brands are hard to compliment in our weather. Maybe this Toy Boy will work much because of its fresh flowery scent. I might grab this one as my signature scent. It has unique scent probably
I have the decant and everything he is saying is true. And what you're saying is true also. I like it and I'm done with it. Thanks for letting me know about it.
I love layering this with bulgari man extreme....it gives a little more freshness and balances out the rose a little more for a slightly more manly edge 😁
Awesome review like usual. I Love this new release, too. As a woman, I do think it unisex and everyone can pull this one off. The opening does remind me of royal oud but after 5' it becomes floral fruity from rose and pear. Thanks a lot, Ashton. Love your channel so much 💚💚💚
Great review, very accurate. I tried this one before & it is extremely feminine on my skin and was therefore a hard pass but my niece bought it & it smells lovely on her. She's 14, lol
@@antoniosmith197 this is a mens frag..there is toyboy for women as well, but bottles are more feminine looking. But this is Mosichino"s mens version they say.
I though the bottle was different so I grabbed a sample. My wife ended up really loving it on me. Crazy. Never would've thought. Likely buying a bottle soon. It's also nice to see something that's not a "blue" fragrance.
I ordered a 10ml sample of ToyBoy... I'm pretty excited to try this one... don't know how to interpret this one... my wife doesn't always appreciate my tastes but I do enjoy challenging and different scents
Thanks for the review. Not sure what to think it sounds unique but I usually don't like rose that much.. but sometimes when rose is done right I can enjoy it.. but powdery rose? im not sure, something i would have to try
Had this for several months. Wore it out once. Went past the barber and he asked me politely not to wear this again as it's to strong and to femin. I still like the dry down.
Is it really polite for someone to tell a paying customer not to wear a fragrance? Especially if he mentioned it being too feminine? I'm sure they could have gotten over it, and they probably should.
@@augustcelineiii946 Yeah, that barber needs to get over the 'feminine' aspect. Now I do agree about letting someone know a fragrance they're wearing is too strong and to please cut back on it. I've had to tell a male colleague his cologne was seriously overwhelming to my nose and could he please adjust the sprays of it or something and he did, thankfully. Only once have I asked someone not to wear a scent around me again because it made me physically sick and he agreed it smelled vile LOL.
Hey Ash, you're mentioning masculin floral fragrances in this Video. Would love if you could do a Video bout them, specially interested in Designers, in terms of price of course. Greetings from Germany! Love your work!
I got a toy boy sample, and I love the smell. I will probably just wear the sample around the house. I prefer to wear more conservative fragrances because my work environment is super open.
Mine arrived last night. Out of the 400+ fragrances I’ve smelled, it’s actually in the top 2 or 3 WORST. So I guess I’m the odd one lol, but keep in mind, I don’t like rose notes.
I've never smelled this fragrance and based on these review i have no idea what type of scent this is. The funny thing about most fragrance reviewres is that they don't know how to make the viewers imagine the scent; scent is about emotions and vibes and listing the notes is not gonna make it.
To me the notes have a really expensive opening, but mixed with some playfulness which might come off as feminine. I love it, it fits my personality, but its not for everyday use..or hot weather. Complex floral notes with some pepper it smells unique.
I tested it out first at Macy’s and the sample I took home was so different and I found myself going back to sniffing it over the course of a few days and decided to buy a bottle. Especially right now that Macy’s is having 15% off of most of their fragrances
The top notes, first couple of minutes is like entering a flower shop, you get a really strong flowery scent, you have to really love that scent otherwise its really offputting.
Have you ever tried Smirnoff Tamarind? On my skin, this fragrance smells exactly like that: tamarind and chile. A little sweet and spicy. But not a beast. It is, actually, very soft and quiet. Love it.
I like it....i told a friend that Toy Boy is the fraternal twin of Gallagher Fragrances discontinued scent Ilroen and i realllllly liked that one so this is great buy for me
just blind bought it for 35 bucks wasnt available locally and samples were goin for 20.00 anyway I wasnt disappointed at all best blind bu this year... but it smells very very close to aqua di parma colina oud/intesa
Bit late to the party......just received my bottle of Toy Boy recently. It was a blind buy as the price was great ( thanks Fragrencenet). I was pleasantly surprised when I first smelt it. It does go a bit more feminine on the dry down but I agree it's unisex. More floral forward frag to anything else I have in my collection, but I like it. Wife likes it too and so do my kids, it's a winner!
I went for a perfume yesterday I smelled this one wasn't sure at first smell ,got a Lacoste that I was sure to love ,I'm so glad the guy let me a sample of toy boy I enjoy it so much I think I'm going to get it soon enough!
