can we acknowledge the fact that this time he was WAY stronger than buff Dedede in Star Allies? Think about what buff Dedede didn't do, like swinging around a whole pillar like it was his own hammer
I like to think after Star Allies, Dedede got to keep the macho forms strength. Much like how Meta Knight kept the cloning ability. And so Dedede tried to hone it even more. Thus pulling off the stuff he does in Forgotten Land
King Dedede's themes are always a delight to listen to. Everytime you hear that song, you really felt like you're facing a worthy king. He's not just some evil character that you need to defeat, he's a king that you need to overcome, to prove yourself. Doesn't mean that he's the strongest opponent you'll face, but more like a test of how far you have come.
Yeah, Roar of Dedede and Dededestroyer Z are are great example of this, they make you feel like you are truly fighting a king, that you are battling against the epitome of Royalty, that you are opposing a figure with some _serious_ power that should not be messed around with. *”When the king’s hammer swings, lesser warriors become dust!”*
He and kirby will always be rivals to the end. But in being friends and protectors of dreamland they know they will always test one another and give the other an oppurtunity to grow and become better, which in my opinion is what a good rival should do. This music does not reflect an evil king but rather a a relentless and brave warrior who never gives up.

I think this is the first time in the entirety of Kirby where Dedede actually comes off as sinister and threatening, rather then HEH HEY KIRBY WHY DONT WE FIGHT, yes he’s possessed (for the 5th time this week) but never has he been this menacing when he’s posessed
Hmmm… come to think of it, I actually would really love to see dedede be unfathomably horrifying too. Like his boss fight would just make him put the fear if God in the player, like him using attacks at the rate of basically touhou level, or something like that 😆
The thing I love the most about Dedede's theme is that it is being made since the first Kirby game. Each game increased it by adding something more. You can hear it better in compilations. But it's amazing, I've never seen other videogame bosses do that
