Thats why we "complain" still about being 5-1. We are mentally preparing ourselves for the other foot to fall because that's all we knew for decades, and Elway/Manning had a huge part in that. For me specifically, it was Manning. "Oh, the Chiefs have a really good team this year and a chance to make some noise in the playoffs! Great!" ...Enter Peyton Manning. It's for sure getting better, and there are games where I don't go down that dark rabbit hole, but old habits die hard.

You know, there was a very vocal minority last year in the 49ers fanbase that was lobbying to throw Shanahan out because of his constant choking and wasting a championship window and so forth. We haven't yet seen how that'll play out yet. But the replacement everyone brought up when they were talking in the realm of possibility was always Sean Peyton. As a jaded 49ers fan, I just want to say, from the bottom of my schadenfreude-fueled heart, thank you for saving us from this disaster. Also, good luck with McGlinchey. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Shanahan also might’ve saved his job by accidentally finding Brock Purdy - they’re a team that had all the weapons but no QB, but now they have a QB that last I checked is undefeated in games where his arm doesn’t explode They lucked into a QB that fit Shanahan’s 49ers perfectly, and if he can stay healthy they might be able to go the distance.

Last year as a hawks fan I was just wanting revenge and not to be embarrassed. That grew to hope for a decent draft pick. Which became hope for a damn nice pick… which happened. Now I just kinda feel bad.

Old guy here. My nephew is a big KC Chiefs fan. When his friend, a broncos fan, gushed about the Russell Wilson trade last year commented about how Denver would compete and possibly win the West. My nephew deadpanned him saying, “great, you got the 3rd or 4th QB in the AFC west.” Turns out my nephew was correct.

A+ content good sir. As a Browns fan I've been there and feel your pain. 3 years of football and had 4 wins. It's excruciating but it makes the wins that much sweeter. Hang in there Perna. Some of the best art comes from suffering and you sir are putting out some top shelf content. Hang in there.
