I’ve been in law enforcement for 10 years. Gone through a pair of boots every year 1.5-2 years. I placed an order for these in March 2023, got them delivered 2 weeks ago (October 2023). Still working on breaking them in, but hands down the most well-built, comfortable, and durable boots I’ve ever worn. Definitely worth the wait. (The printout sizing guide worked perfectly too.) Considering all my previous pairs of boots combined cost ~$900, the high price tag of these is completely justified. I won’t have to buy boots for the rest of my career. If you’re a cop and considering these, just go ahead and pull the trigger. You won’t regret it. Well done, Nicks. Thanks for thinking of us.

Always worn Danner Acadia boots and have liked them. They’ve been in a lot of snow and heavy storms and waterlogged and have held up pretty great. They are also really comfortable for normal shifts. I will admit though, if I do an 8 hour foot patrol assignment my feet are pretty sore by the end. How do these compare? Really been eyeballing them!

Or just watch the next video where they show them being made. I'm more interested to hear from some of the early buyers (especially those who have another style of Nick's) about how the daily wear is with these. One feature I really wish the other boots offered was that replaceable leather insole pad. Lets face it, that's the leather that's going to get stinky and nasty the fastest. Also, you could have a couple and swap them out each day if you didn't want to go with two pair of boots (which is the best way to make them last).

@@RoseAnvil unfortunately while I like my feet I seriously cannot justify spending 525 bucks on something I’m supposed to work in. While unfortunate that 525 dollars is my shoe budget for 3 to 4 years. As sad as it is I have little choice but to replace work boots annually and save a lot of money

Marines still won't be able to wear it, even after they come out with Coyote tan because it doesn't have the regulation required EGA imprint in the leather. Gotta love exclusionary government contracts.

So I learned about Nicks watching Rose Anvil's RU-vid reviews of your products, including this one. As a veteran I wish this quality of boot was available when I was serving althought we would probably not been alowed to wear it but who knows. Now I lean more toward barefoot style boots and shoes but there was a time I'd definitly have purchased these. Keep on making these amazing products and I'll keep admiring them.

Sponsoring Grant to do a marathon in these boots sounds like a good idea. Also, really liking the new styles! Whereas most brands can fall under new trends and decades, I love how Nicks is masterfully adapting.

While I have no use for a tactical boot (I'm retired), that is a very interesting boot. I really appreciate the plug for Heat Straps' Chief Coat. They make the Nicks Boots of coats. Also...they are very nice people to deal with. I emailed them some pre-purchase questions on the weekend, and received a very cordial and informative reply in less than 30 minutes! Fun video Grant. These are a few steps up from Danner and belleville I think?? I've worn belleville 390s and Danner Arcadias on duty for years...thought I was at the pinnacle of boots considering I'd go through bates and rockies in like a 5th the time as bville and danner...but almost convinced these are worth every penny. Did you ever get any? How do you like them?

@@baileymoyer9777 yes. I am in the Air Force so we have the AFI but it’s the same as army for boots. I am an aircraft technician and want boots that lady a long time because I swear I go through boots once every six months. If I can finally get some from nicks that would be wonderful

@@reesewolf6565 six months is good for military boots. That is in their nature. They are light and durable, waterproof, comfortable etc but don’t last more than a year in the best case scenario if used thoroughly. Still better and more comfortable than heritage boots. You would die if you had to wear what people wore in ww1, ww2 and Korea.

Those are the exact same outsoles used on current issued combat boots. I was introduced to them in basic training. They’re incredible.

I am as well. They have a station boot, but heavy. Comfortable but heavy. Have had them for 10 years. This boot is basically a modern station boot, just add a zipper and safety toe if required. I’ll be ordering this one.

Unanswered question: I like my Nicks because you folks understand the need for an arch. The way you build that up makes them really comfy. Do these things have arches in 'em or are you leaving room in there for arched insoles?

I love seeing the, perhaps not entirely accurate but for lack of betters term coming to mind, updates to some newer methods/materials along with the epic heritage craftsmanship you guys are known for. Ooooooooooo. I don't know how to tell you this, but the Tan ones have been available for over three months now. Ordered mine immediately when they went on sale and I'm still waiting. Looking at lead times it's another 2-3 months of waiting.

@@FalconDonkyPunch im still a ways off from ordering any boots from them. Its not in the budget yet and my whites perrys are holding up well enough after a year and no resole yet. They are definitely something that i will have in the next 5 years. im sure when im ready to pull the trigger, ill talk to them and look into options more. At $500 + im going to make sure theyre just what i want and im sure ill love them.

I saw that you now have roughout & smooth coyote brown but I don't see any pictures of the smooth side anywhere and I'd really like to see what the coyote (rough & smooth side) looks like after being greased/oiled like you've shown us with your other leather options video. I'm after a hiking boot from Nick's... just couldn't bring myself to order any of the previous offerings for such use as my Builder Pros are too heavy and too stiff for such use and I'd have expected the same from the others in their line up. This might be the answer!

Yes! Exactly. Nicks boots are built well but almost all are the work logger style. If you have super wide feet like me, none of the regular hiking boots are wide enough. Plus they all have gortex crap. Nobody seems to make a good wide leather boot like a classic hiking boot. It would be great if they stepped up to fill the void.

When the stitches start falling out of my Reeboks again in a few months, I'm looking in to a pair of Nicks. Just not sure what yet. I like the tactical, but I want something that's all veggitan leather. It just has to be coyote brown, steel toe, and no exposed metal.

What last is this boot built on? I'm really excited to hear that you'll be offering brown leather options with this type of build. I'm just hoping there's room for wide toe splay which is necessary for me personally but I think also necessary for most people when running, climbing and fighting.

Received mine on May 4, 2023, best boot I've ever owned. I opted for a composite toe because my current post has me in a cash vault with lots of carts, so the toe box is slightly bulbous and probably completely overkill for my role, but who cares? Also opted for black hooks/eyelets and a leather padded collar; figured I was in deep so why not get exactly what I want?
