Haha it's lighter than the A7iii set up in a cage with follow focus... but I also have a nice camera strap that I use on the G9 like this 📸 I detach the monitor if I'm moving fast, otherwise that mount I rock solid so I'm never worried 😄
Isn't it great David? I was considering a rig for the G9 but I really didn't want the size and weight added on.. so I took a chance on this mount to see and it was the answer to my PRAYERS 🤓
I'm designing a antispin thin plate that will work with all monitor mounts for 7 and 5 inch on camera monitors. It will fit with smallrig monitor mounts to stop monitor from spinning loose without the pin like atomos work on feelworld, desview and smallrig and atomos shinobi. Problem with most monitors is the little pad that contacts the 1/4 20. Easy to come loose...... I use double sided tape but this bracket will be way better.
Being the cack-handed article that I am I wouldn't be without my cages and cable clamps for my G9 and dual batteried Ninja Flame even tho' it makes for a heavier outfit... hot-shoe sockets are just not the sturdiest items on a camera. You're a brave man, Connor! Nice monitor mount tho'. I'm using a small robust uni-loc ballhead that I had lying around as I just can't justify (esp. to my missus) any further outlay on kit. Sigh.
I live on the edge! 😎 In truth, the Ninja V isn't very heavy especially when paired with the smaller NPF batteries! I've definitely never felt it straining the mounts on the cameras at all. Though a heavier monitor setup might just do that! I try my best to not lift from the monitor as much as I can., using the camera body to move and lift with. I was torn between a cage and no cage. My A7iii has a full cage and wireless follow focus system on it. I couldn't handle that sort of weight again (I need an easy rig for that as the ergo/weight issues are not pleasant to film with) on the second camera so I wanted to least amount of things as possible. Mostly for personal work! I cage up my cameras for client work when needed because it seems to make them think the cameras more "professional" lol 😂
@@CreativeConnor Yes. it now occurs to me that it's entirely possible that my 'cageism' is my substitute for professionalism. I've had my G9 since November '19 ( bought to take advantage of the firmware upgrade on the back of a super package deal.) and still very much in the learning phase of all aspects of 'proper' videography, and will always be an enthusiastic amateur. Still cack-handed tho'. That's not going to change! Keep sane stay safe!

I know Andy!! I use my cages for professional work on my A7iii with a wireless follow focus etc.. I didn't want that for my G9.. I just wanted to get the Ninja V on top as simply as possible because I'm using it run and gun and didn't want the extra weight with a full rig on it! 📷 I do like cages, however I'm not a fan of how the put the extra weight onto my wrists and I've wanted to get an easyrig mini for a while to help me.. I also think having a camera caged up makes my clients think the image will be better LOL
great idea but still puts a lot of weight at an angle on the hot shoe, Possibly same concept but with thumb screw on each end so can attach to a cage, Mine was knocked and damaged the hot shoe on my Nikon, damn expensive repair

Bout to snag one of these, I’m always looking for a better solution for mounting my ninja v. I’ve spent so much money on ways to mount that thing and never been completely satisfied that it’s ridiculous lol.
I’m looking forward to it man. I’ve literally resolved to using my bright tangerine titan arm off of my c200 rig for mounting the ninja v to the EOSr which functions great but it’s so massive. I mean, it’s built for a cinema rig lol. So definitely stoked to get something that works as well but it so much smaller
