really cool design! I still see this as being very similar to vanduul/generic alien design shape vise, but that really just comes down to the two-pronged front and their specific curvatures. Working on the angular midsection and the stubby side wings next to the canopy could make this more aegis I dare say. Extending side wings like someone else pointed out also sound worth a shot. In my mind your design parameters would be ideally accomplished by an SR-71 in space, and honestly, you are quite close to that i think! The four engines could just make your design able to outrun most other fighters, making this a very 'durable' ship. capitalizing on the quantum scooping was an idea that crossed my mind. Could the front wings maybe extend laterally and or horizontally to give more scooping area?
Very inspiring to see he process unfold. Some ideas, Take a look at the back of the firebird engines to sleek up the engine style a bit, having that low profile engine look. Intake on the wings might need manifolds (wave style, which could add to the wing shape and outer hull design) of an element (copper) for collecting particles. Adding two floor windows by the feet? more recon like?...
This series is so cool! Sad you didn't go with the crusader style concepts though ;) I think this long range scouting job would only be for the craziest pilots if there isn't an escape pod or capsule that can keep you alive for a while if the ship goes down Have you placed placeholder components to make sure you have enough volume for everything? The ship is so compact! I think long range means redundancy is important - at least two of everything? Two quantum drives would be a unique feature too. Not sure if it makes sense to add 2 drives together but you could even just have 1 turned on at a time, choose between a fast drive and an efficient drive if you want
I really like the idea with the 2 drives, ill think about that. And I have placed components at one point, but not in a long time, and it is something I plan to do in one of the next episodes, planning how to access them, too. And about the crusader concept - I did continue on that, too - next episode :)
Try a buble nautilus type cokpit. who knows? and maybe longger front wings less compact. very good work tho , keep at it, cant wait for more results and ideas.
Glad to see you back! Back end looks a little too pinched from the sides for me. And middle side wing thingies now look like they are actually extendable wings : )
So this is a bit of a long shot (and perhaps a break in design), but I really liked your idea of quantum fuel collection mid-flight and think the design could expand on that. I think having a deployable, larger collector for this rare fuel might be more believable, and was thinking of this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uWCGK4nneeU.html animation. The wings in your design could house a retractable collection chute for use in gas clouds/atmosphere. If nothing else, I think this is a fun concept for independent refueling in SC. Also, if the ship keeps the four thrusters, two of them could be optimized for efficient, low acceleration reconnaissance, with another two for dogfighting.
@@ace_tristPWN Last try. 😅 Splitting it seems to work. Hope you can See it. Extremely well made series and a nice looking ship. I personally would elongate the wings a bit forward to make more room for components, weapon systems, and sensor equipment. This would also help to make the ship look sleeker and less chubby.
