Jason Allison has otherworldly skill, but his lack of speed has frozen his career with the Capitals in its tracks, he hopes a change of scenery will change everything.
Big Thanks to ‪@PinholesGraham‬ for the shoutout last week and welcome to all the newcomers because of that!

Amazing, simply fantastic. Not even underrated, these are unknown gems. This is missing in world hockey. Believe it, i'll be sharing your name.

Can you do a video about Ray Whitney? One of the most interesting career arcs for a player ever Great video as always

Definitely on my radar, he's actually 3 years older than Allison and played for 8 seasons after Allison was out of the league. His longevity was incredible

Love all your videos, but this may have been my favorite yet. What a blast from the past - I became a hockey/Bruins fan during the 2000-01 season and Allison was instantly my favorite player. I couldn't take my eyes off this hulking guy who seemed to be playing a slightly different sport from everyone else on the ice. It was sad to see him depart after that season, but it wasn't so long before David Krejci emerged on the scene and became my new favorite slow feet/slick hands/high-IQ center for years to come. Keep up the great work!

Thank you dude! He is one of the most unique players I've ever seen. He is a lot like Krejci now that you mention it!

Amazing Allison got two Junior Gold medals, one of them on a large European rink

Jason Allison could have been the best player the Dead Puck Era ever saw...if only he didn't start producing in the dead puck era. The best of the best in the 90s and 2000s (Yzerman, Sakic, Forsberg, Jagr, Lindros, Selanne, etc.) they all broke out multiple years before the Dead Puck Era began. Allison broke out as the perfect archetype of his era in the middle of his era and not only did he happen to fall into obscurity, he fell arguably because he broke out in the middle of his era. Jason Allison: the biggest Catch 22 in hockey history.

@@oakley22610 It was definitely a time of evolution in the league because this was the only time you’d have unpolished skaters like that and a player like Pavel bure playing in the same league lol
