The Odd Couple - Felix The Calypso Singer 

So hard to believe that this show ran for five seasons and was never a ratings success. It never even finished in the Top 25 shows in the Nielsen ratings for any season it was on. It’s probably one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. RIP Jack Klugman and Tony Randall, maybe the best Odd Couple to ever play the roles of Oscar and Felix.

I loved this show as a kid. Watching this and The Honeymooners back to back on WPIX starting at 11pm on my old 19 inch black and white tv.

This is one of the funniest things in American sitcom. Tony Randall is such the natural comedian.

Time and political correct tv shows of the past 15 years has made me appreciate what the Odd Couple was, the absolute best comedy show ever.

Barbara Colby who played Monica the bar maid was shot and murdered after teaching an acting class in Los Angles in a parking lot a few years after this Odd Couple was filmed along with another student. Barbara like Vito Scotti had been in Columbo, as well as several Mary Tyler Moore show episodes and had just landed a full time part on the MTM spinoff Phyllis. Miss Colby was 36 years old and her murder was never solved.

Oh those two were funny, could always make me laugh. Felix just took the cake. Miss the show.

Still funny in 2017. I thought for a second I Felix was drunk texting Gloria at the bar on a fliphone. Then I realized it was a wallet in his hands.

I think TV channels like MeTV, need to start showing this show again. They do occasionally, but not on a regular basis.

The bartender is played by the interesting Barbara Colby. She was killed in '75 in a "random" drive by shooting by two men, as identified by her companion who later died of his injuries. The killers were never caught.

It sucks that this episode is not available on Paramount Plus.
