In the summer I just open the zip fully and open it out like a quilt. For the money it's a great bag, I have an old down bag that weighed a few ounces less but it's very constricting so I now tend to use this instead.

Interesting review John. Now the this bag is not available in Norway, but you make some points about sleeping bags that are universal. One of the most important is to find a bag with a comfort rating that suits your body, sleeping style and type of trips you are going on. In my place this would be a summer bag (with luck it can be used to the end of September), so for me it is important to match a sleeping bag with a good sleeping pad that provides insulation from the cold ground. In addition I always carry an emergency bivy bag that I can wrap around the sleeping bag and pad while inside the tent to gain an extra degree or two of warmth. Hope that your bag will see plenty of use next year, so all the best!
Thanks for watching and your nice comment. You are quite right about the sleeping mat being important. I usually use exped inflatable mats, but with a cheap roll mat underneath. This is partly to protect the inflatable mat from punctures, but also to give me a back up in tge event if the inflatable mat failing overnight. Best wishes to you and your family for 2022.

i have just bought a sleeping bag because my 3 season when it got down to 5 below 0 last winter so i picked this summit 350 gsm and says you can go dwn to -3 and only 20 pound i thought 20 pound it must be crap but it came yesterday and im rather pleased it looks better than that oex one and thicker and its got pockets and a neck bathol on it but not yet tryed it out in colder than 5 degree,s in the garden and it was great never got cold and i had to put my arms out when i woke in the morning so yes rather pleased it just shows you if you look you can get some good bargins. oh and there was plenty of room but i am about the same size and weight as you

Poppet dissapears in one of her favourite hiding spots for a lot of the day, and generally emerges in the evening for her tea. Nonetheless I am determined to get her in a video so I may have to up her fee to 2 cans of tuna. Pebbles on the other hand likes photo bombing 🤣. Best wishes to you and yours for 2022 🎉
Hi Keith, I used the Exped Synmat Basic 7.5 mat. It's about £70 in Blacks at the moment. It has an R value of 4 which takes it down theoretically to -11 deg C. I have used this mat along with my Leviathan bag down to -4 deg and been very comfortable. Thank you very much for watching and commenting, and I wish you and your family the very best for 2022.
