OEX fathom EV 400 four season sleeping bag - 1.1kg | first thoughts & Snugpak sleeper lite 

Four seasons... I love these when it's chilly and... okay, even on hot nights when I curl up on the top of them and feel all cozy and fluffy. Great review!

Nice one Gaz, you always get kit at decent prices, I'm looking for center zip new sleeping bag. .. the DD Jura 2 I have is so heavy with that waterproof foot box, not many manufacturers do center zips for decent money... all big money...The EV400 looks like a decent bag for the weight, packs down pretty small. Nice socks! I did a tent review once and all people talked about was my bloody socks, that got caught in the shot lol. Sounded a good price you got there and I like the sound of it being designed and developed in the UK as well. Nice and light and on a warm night, an ideal bit of kit. Cheers Alan

Looks like a nice piece of kit... Oh I do know about waking up cold and it does make for an uncomfortable night... I am a cold sleeper and I find I need a great deal more than most people..

Bought the 300 version of this bag which is only 50 grams lighter and similar specs as the 400 supposed to go below 0 etc and is similar pack size so I doubt they are much difference just marketing to add another bag in the lineup. My initial experience in bags and camping over years is the bags are a joke for the ratings to weight ratio and type of filling. Unless OEX know or have invented synthetic filling no other top brand manufacturers like RAB, Mountain Hardware, Mountain Equipment, Marmot etc have been able to invent, then I took it with a pinch of salt. Took this bag up Kinder Scout at the weekend was froze in it at 4 degrees C with clothes on. Do not buy one for winter I knew the score but purposely packed my down jacket and bag liner to add if I got cold, good job too hey! Any reviews from people that used them in proper cold conditions who goes proper wild camping on the hills said they were way cold bags below the ratings, most reviews were removed from Blacks, Go Outdoors, Millets. Good comfy bag for the summer like you said Gaz you know the score but pitty anyone thinking they are getting a bargain winter bag at even 30 -40 quid. The basic 1700 grams weight Snugpak ones will keep you a lot warmer for that price. No synthetic bag made will be comfy sleeping at just over 1kg at a good few degrees below zero! You just can't have this weight and warmth in synthetic bags. You have to buy 850 fill power goose down with a nice even amount of filling and good quality baffled construction to go super cold and very light, but they are anything but light on the wallet !

That’s a handy size and down to a comfort of -1 for that price is bloody good. The Easthills I have (3 seasons) I use through last winter but was slightly cold but I recon this would do me Gaz. I’ll go look if they are still on sale. Thanks man for this review 👍

I'm thinking of buying this for all year round except winter as no way this will be a winter bag look at the filling content its double layer but like 110g square x 2 which if you look at most bags will not equate to that and any review I have seen on the OEX bags seems to say they are cold and well below the quoted temps, so good advice from my research is get the bigger bag. I will get one though as at the moment its on sale and 20% off at Millets and your review being a big bloke like me says it will fit good compared to most bags. Have you used it yet Gaz?

Millets, Blacks and Go Outdoors are all part of the same Holding company, OEX is their brand, and strangely for a shop brand, OEX is quite good.
