Answering the aeons old questions of - are executioners better than swordmasters, are black dragons superior to sun dragons, and finally did teclis pick the wrong side?
About the Shades, they always were more expensive than the Shadow Warriors. The reason is (mostly) the repeater crossbows. Combined with BS5 that's a comparatively high volume of fire with good chance to hit. With their mobility they can often choose safe spots while harassing the enemy until they get a chance to take out warmachines. Somehow they always seem to worth their points in shooting alone. They are on the expensive side though.
Repeater crossbows are no joke. They're probably set in my mind as being slightly weaker than shadow warriors due to their comparative value in warhammer total war as opposed to warhammer miniature game lol.
Murderous requires clarification, atm it only affects models that use a single hand weapon and the trait is attached to models that use dual hand weapons - Witches, Death Hags or two handed weapons like Har Ganeth Executioners which obviously doesn't make sense.
No clarification needed, it applies to base hand weapons (p. 213 of rulebook). With witches, you have to choose before a fight if you're using base hand weapon or two hand weapons. Remember : "Unless specified otherwise, all models are assumed to be equipped with a hand weapon."
@@VonHalphas There is never a case in which using a hand weapon with a re-roll on 1-2 attacks is better than having an extra attack or having S+2 instead of a re-roll. The math simply doens't support it. At attack of S3 against T3 and same WS, you get 50% To Hit and 50% chance To Wound on extra attack making it effective 25% of the time while it also increases your chances to do anywhere between 0-3 wounds A re-roll happens 15% of the time on each roll and has 50% chance to cause a wound making it 7.5% effective on each attack bringing it to 15% of effectivness when you perform 2 attacks and cannot do more than between 0-2 wounds It's just a straight up pointless rule with absolutely no character/unit on which it makes sense to use, especially since you can't use it in conjuntion with magical weapons making it worthless for characters. This rule as written is absolute garbage and dead in the game
@@Sz4r1ej I never said it was a strong rule, it just adds some flavor to the army. I see it being usefull in some very situational cases : if you charge a flank of a 15 wide / 1 deep unit, depending on your size you may want to use hand weapon + murderous with all your 1st rank instead of +1 attack with 3 models only. Same for executioners, sometimes you may want to not "strike last". We'll see after a few dozens of games...
Don't thnk you can place vortex in any place n the battlefield that touches enemy model bases and when it moves it will move over certain distance until it stops touching model bases
