100% on everything you said. This kayak (and even the FeelFree brand as a whole) is soooooo overlooked by the kayak fishing market, but it's hands-down the best turn-key kayak out there. That being said, I do not have that kayak because anything pedal powered is a waste of time for me personally/physically. I'm paddle or motor only, so having a whole pedal system/design that I'll never use is (big) waste of money for me. FeelFree's parent company is Joy Water Sports. They also make the 3 Waters brand (you can see the obvious similarities with their Big Fish kayak model), but Joy also provides (or at least used to) in-house brand kayak models for Cabela (Advanced Angler) as well as Dick's Sporting Goods (Field & Stream ShadowCaster 123). It's easy to see that all these kayak models are related. I went with the Field & Stream ShadowCaster 123 and put a modified 55-lb thrust Newport Vessels motor the back, wiring the whole thing through hull, 2 35ah (for 70ah total) SLA batteries in the front hatch, and a dial throttle control next to my seat. With the original trolling motor head removed, steering is done with push-pull broomstick style. I was actually pulled over by marine patrol for generating too much wake near residential docks. The best thing about the ShadowCaster is it's big and wide (100lbs all by itself), very stable, great hull design, big open deck (no pedal drive), and it frequently goes on sale for $599. Even with the motor, batteries, etc., I've probably kept the whole thing under $1000, which is ridiculously cheap considering how nice the end product is. Oh, and as a big side benefit, unlike most of Joy/FeelFree models, this kayak has standard T-tracks rather than proprietary ones. I know you've always 💩💩'd kayaks, and I've understood why considering what you've been able to do with small jon boats, but I'm not surprised at all that of all kayaks out there, you'd like this one.

Very familiar with everything FeelFree makes. For the dollar they have no competition. Their Moken 10 which is a real roto-molded kayak is price competitive with a Dolphin which is blow molded. They manufacture 3 brands all awesome! Another kayak you may want to try is a NuCanoe Unlimited with the Newport Vessels 36V 110lb thrust motor. NuCanoe is the ONLY manufacturer that actually has a EPS system that makes that type of motor into a 20minute install. They refer to it as plug & play. Come on down to Florida and test one out on us - as we sell both brands. That motor will run through that muck like a vitamix and sound is just like a silent fan - all you hear is water hitting the bow at 8mph. Beach Basement Kayaks

I think the kayaks kinda peaked with the wilderness systems 135’s, old town predator pdls, and the hobie outback’s. Anything more, you might as well just start looking at a boat.

I am going to go ahead and say this..... This is no longer a kayak... it has lost all of the reasons for it to be even be called "kayak. it is certainly a capable craft, but it is too heavy, to complicated, not easily customizable without buying company provided gear. just watching you explain the seat design, the transducer system and the loud loud motor made this extra clear, feelfree here has completely lost the aim of kayaks for kayak fishing. just make this wider and sell it as a skiff/john boat. as it is, it is just not a kayak anymore.

This kayak has a bad haul design it sits way to low in the water takes water over bow , not good all in my opinion !
