Genuinely good guide video for sword. Every guide video I watch is just a 30 minute session in the practice range with little to no actual in game examples to show what they are talking about. Also good on mentioning the weakness which is also something every other guide doesnt do.

As a recent sword main this video has been gold to me, a lot of mobility here is super familiar to me on controller. Ive done a few things like jumping then sliding after the charge attack dash but to see this all explained out in FULL detail with stuff I didn’t know about is just gold, W video, def gonna sub🫡😮‍💨

Something to remember, if youre having trouble with the slide post dash jump, you need to remember to have the sprint button held to trigger slide when you press crouch. The guide didnt explicitly say it, but it does show in his inputs and in my testing.

Only picked up the game few hours ago and found the sword... so of course I fell in love with it, but I went for stealth sword play and can definetly see now why the dash is superior. Ill definetly try this cause the swords is just a bundle of fun.

If you use the lunge attack, then switch to the sword via the L1 on console, it will animation cancel so you can start charging the lunge again faster.

This might be the most fun way to play this game. Just tried it for myself and wow.

You answered my biggest question which was why so many times I charged my heavy attack went in spamming melee and not understanding why my heavy attack didn't hit anything.... that's gonna save me a lot of deaths 🤣 You the GOAT

I took that Genji part personally man - I avoided the sword because it was apart of the light class.. saw this video and passed by it. Then I saw a reaction video on the #1 sword montage video shroud approved and I was like “I have to know”

so you know after you lunge and melee there is a delay before you can swing again. You can melee and at the same time animation cancel by swiching to util and back to primary as your meleeing to instantly swing your sword again. the animation is pretty funny because it shows you swinging durring the melee attack, Its really good against heavies and mediums as it takes more than a lunge and melee to kill. but make sure you melee slightly before the cancel.

There's actually a faster and more consistent way to do the one shot medium combo. Just switch the quick melee for the left click in your combo. It saves a couple frames because for some reason doing the light attack after the quickmelee cancel from lunge also cancels the startup animation of the light attack. Personally I find it easier to do as well since I can't accidentally quick melee before the left click hits. So Lunge>QuickMelee>Gadgetswap>Light attack.

I noticed another bit of sword tech I've seen wasn't shown here. Is the double tapping left click and cancel the second swing with right click lunge doing a weird force hit in the middle of the combo actually good or just fancy?

whaaaa? Why can't a melee attack swipe hit multiple targets? What is this BS? This means clumping up together is a viable way of preventing a melee from dealng damage to the guy, who's stealing? That's so cheesy! D:

Sorry for the comment spam, your tips are good. I don’t use the stun gun cause I’m on roller and the radial isn’t as efficient to switch through, so I use the pyro instead. Pyro obv has multi uses (destroys goo and gas) but it’s also the only nade that goes off instantly where it lands. If I see a team huddled up together I’ll throw the pyro just to make them panic and a little weaker. I have frags too but pyro is better for moving targets imo. If I remember correctly flames obscure player vision as well, I’ll need to see what the damage is with the combos. If sg ever gets a proper nerf I think pyro will be a decent replacement

Could you explain a lil more th "bunny" jump? im not able to do it. Also, I dont fine "effective" using the dash hotkey in Q, make harder for me to use "WASD" hotkeys, any suggestions?

Doesn’t dash break invis though? Probably best to just sprint to make the most of the vanish bomb unless you’re going for that surprise factor

Did Patch changed 1.5.0 something? The slide jump still works after launch+dash? Path notes: Vaulting Fixed an issue where players could gain extreme speed by picking up objects that were being vaulted on Updated vaulting to feel snappier and be more aligned to ledges

The stun gun changes feel a little better, I think it needs to be a flat 3 seconds idk what the .75 is about.
