I'm 44 and when I was a little girl my hair was to my butt, my mom did my hair and I never heard of all this stuff people are doing to their hair..like pre poo, leave in conditioner, hair mask, deep condition, cholesterol treatments I could go on but I won't...all my mom did is wash my hair with any shampoo sometimes even a bar of soap, then any conditioner rinse it out and put grease in my hair then braid it..I keep it simple like my mom did, I cut all my hair off and in 2 yrs with mini braids my hair is armpit length strong and healthy, I don't even pay attention to wash days, i never even heard of wash days until recently, everyone is making it a big deal....my mom just said come on
I want to say THANK YOU!!! I installed my micro braids on March 2 and butter it daily!!! I butter and braid in groups and bantu for bed! My hair has MOVEMENT AND STRETCH!!! I am WOWED by this method! Worse case scenario, I would remove the braids and go back to my routine before. My hair is no longer a chore. It is extremely soft and moisturized!!! I am going to stay the course! I will use witch hazel or rose water to clean my scalp in a few weeks!
For over 25 years I had not been moisturizing my hair and my hair never grew past my shoulders. In the past year I started deep conditioning and using leave-in conditioners and my hair is at bra-strap length and much thicker than I have ever had. I am definitely going to continue because it works for me
You could moisturize your hair with shea butter...all.shes saying is don't use water products like leave in conditioners, and some liquid moisturizers.
Gurl you are so right about our hair that it made me cry. I figured this out last year when i started doing my mini twist and box braids with my natural hair. I'm now on my natural hair journey to waste length hair...thanks for your video...🙏😇
The truth is the truth, we just need to surrender to it 💚 journey to waist length wow. You're doing amazing. May you reach your hair goals in record time
Thanks for the content! Appreciate your views. I respectfully don’t agree with some of your points but I agree with braiding your hair in mono braids. Unfortunately I can’t go without regularly washing because I gym and get bad itchy!
I agree with everything, except the no water part. Cause after 3 weeks my scalp starts to itch😫 and I don’t have no other choice to wash my hair 💁🏾♀️. If the no washing works for you I understand 👌. Thank you for sharing
Hi! I used aloe vera juice pretty much daily and add an oil or butter to seal. I’m gonna start washing my hair monthly. Right now my hair has been thriving in mini braids trying to get to waist length by Oct my 4th year anniversary from big chop ( chin length) your channel is about to be very popular please keep the videos coming. ❤
Thanks a lot for that blessing🙂🩷🩷 by "used" I hope that means you don't use it anymore on your hair, because your hair registers it as water and it's swelling up your cuticles preventing them from laying flat and just flourishing. I'm about to upload my Routine video soon, check it out ❤️
I’m African (Nigerian) and frankly your generalization is far from being accurate. You make claims that olden women didnt wash their hair but where you there to know that? Just cus our history was disrupted does not mean everything said about from from yt perspective is true. I have thick, long hair and what you said not to do is what go it to that stage. To everyone listening use your discernment. Does it sound normal not to wash your hair for months? You think itching, flaking and stinky dirty scalp is what will grow your hair? Get off youtube and go experiment with your hair, find out what it likes and what it doesnt. Its not about having long hair its also about having long, beautiful and soft hair and trust me you wont get that from skipping water and washing once in 4months.
Your info is very good. When i was a little girl 50+ years ago, many people did not have hair damage and breakage until they started using perms. I'm going back to basics like you.
What you said I have seen others use this and it works if putting your hair in a protective style don't work for you then something is not right, be it's about retaining length
I just subscribed to your channel , you are so right your hair is flourishing , it’s all about money people selling their hair products promising it will do this it will do that but basic science like you said works, thanks
My sister i am knew to your channel some preachers and prophetess are telling women that they cant locks or braid their have using what 1st Timothy 2vrs 9 say but i like what your saying about history and what our ancestors did as women i was also trying these RU-vidr and their saying about moisturize
From my point view, I think everyone has what work for them. Because I saw people doing normal routine I.e moisturising, deep conditioning etc and they have long hair. But what am learning from you now, is easy to practice and maintain then have a fast growth. So I prefer your technique
When my hair is braided mostly for protective styles like wigs & in the past extensions my hair FLOURISHES BUT I have to add moisture cuz my 3c hair will be on the floor
I agree with what you said and im currently on that same journey due to stalking micor/sistalocs for over 2 years but still not willing to give up on my free form natural hair plus the price to get it done is just too much! Im actually just taking down my mini braids I had in for 3 months but I actually washed and conditioned my hair everytime I made 1 month so 3 washes in all. I used sauve rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner, then for everyday I spritz with water then use Mielle pomegranate leave-in then if im heading out I'll top those two off with african pride rose water and argan oil curly mousse. I have so much hair freedom and its really proving to be the best thing for hair health and growth
Well you have your ideas on what works for you but I don't agree with the no water. Water is key for moisture and my hair loves it. What happened when you have build up, don't you sweat too isn't sweat a mixture of water too. Please let's be guided, everyone has their opinions. Do what works for you.
What works for you. Works for you! No way water won’t touch my hair because oils isn’t moisture. My son wore twists for two years and wet them daily and got to waist length. He didn’t wash them daily just got them wet and moist. Dry hair has very little movement and we are not going for that look.
What you are saying makes alot of sense i can not argue against it but sincerely my hair grows faster and better when moistursed... but the washing really causes alot of breakage to my hair
I’m So Shocked at THIS Video!!! I wish I could Contact You!!! Y’all Don’t have to listen to Her, but she is So Right!! My hair is Long and Beautiful and I’m 100% Black with 4c hair. I Braid my hair with NO FAKE HAIR, and I oil it Regularly. Also, I rarely use Shampoo, and I don’t use lots of Nonsense Products. I don’t over wash my hair, I only wash it every 6 weeks…
Hello you are right, now i started used grease and oil . Weeks ago i was doing loc method but hey this is kinda weird. Now that i grease my hair and my scalp they are so healthy my hair love it. I'm just gonna buy a fragrance for my mix of grease because my family told me that tcis concoction smell so bad 🤣🤣. But hey gonna keep using it i'm doing a 9 months mini braid challenge ! And before thzt i was triming my hair every 2 months and this is shit. I was cutting like 1 inch every 2 months. Now that i stopped my hair is growing so fast 🧘🏾♀️
Call me Ada you don’t have to trim your hair every 2 months. Instead, every 3 or 4 months make sure you trim your hair or have a professional do it for you. Trimming is important for the health of our hair. Keep up the good work. ☺️
@@CallMeAdane yes I get it sis. I had to deal with that when I used to wear my hair out a lot. That’s why we have to stay on top of our game. You got this🙏. We knew that our natural hair journey will have some ups and downs.😣
I have scalp eczema so I have to wet my scalp but wetting it and washing it are two different things. I can go months without washing it but I have to moisturize my scalp more often.
Help a sista out. Shaved my head 2 weeks ago because of menopuase and breakage every monthly cycle. Had beautiful neck length hair before but since Dec 2020 its been falling out. share yr butter recipe please...its winter now and I'm wearing a doek..would like to see some growth by summer. tx
Good evening my darling sis, pls I have a question, my daughter complained that when she loses her braid her hair break so much. But that she noticed her hair was soft. Because we only Anoint our hair now.
I want to ask a question, for someone who has issues with hair breakage, if follow this method of growing hair, will the breakage stop? Or maybe the person doesn't grow hair in some part of their head how can it be attended to?
This method minimizes breakage, but it can't grow hair if it doesn't grow. As humans we can't grow hair that's God's job, even doctors can't. Our job is to keep the hair that the scalp produces
In the olden days, people used to build cob houses with a certain kind of clay. And for the house to be strong, for the clay to cling on to the pillars and not come apart they would add Fibre to the clay. A certain type of dry grass to hold the clay together and the house would stand for hundreds of years. Even today now that we build houses with brick and cement, there's a certain net or wire that builders put in between the cement so that the cement stands strong for years and years. Now can the cob house be a house without the clay? Or can a brick house stand without concrete/cement? Certainly not! Now it's the exact same with chebe. Hair cannot survive without oil, they would never put the chebe alone bcz it is not the main character is it the help. It is the Fibre that holds the oil together. .and the women from Chad chose chebe for a reason bcz of how it feels and because of how the hair accepts it! To conclude what I'm trying to say, chebe has its important role to play in length retention but one's hair can grow without it!!
But following your tips of washing maybe 3 month is it still possible to use Chebe. Then how can I grow my front hair using your guide? And I do have scalp itching and dandruff? Pls I await your response. And can I use butter and oil on my hair. How can I keep my scalp keep

@@praiseowofolaju6218 never apply anything to your scalp bcz we don't wash hair often here. So just braid your hair and anoint your braids with butter including your front. What's the matter with the front of your hair? Is it balding? If you have hair loss at the front of your hair then I can't help you bcz this guide is focused on Length retention. Hair growth is God's part and Length retention is our responsibility.
😂😂😂 Hate to say it but she right my mom or her sisters don't know her or watch yt cuz their in their 70 and 80s and they have hair down their backs they definitely don't wash their hair often they're lazy naturals and I only use shea butter and water and I wash my hair once a month then braid it back up when I do take it down folks wanna know what I am doing to it I simply laugh and say you wouldn't understand
@@trishjones506 Yo, she's saying 4 TIMES A YEAR!!! And NO conditioner! I shampoo, and treat my knee length locs every month. The treatment is a moisturizing, and strengthening treatment. I do not use oils or butters.
😂😂 I am mind blown by your response "I simply laugh and say you wouldn't understand" exactly, be that mysterious because even if you did tell them, like I am, they'd still question it ❤️💚
@@BraidedDiadem I wasnt going to say this at first, but since you lack respect I'm going to say it: you don't seem to be all there. Living with filth on your scalp, and in your hair doesn't grow it, nor does lack of conditioning. But perhaps in your case it acts as manure. Low manipulation results in length retention. Stimulating your scalp results in hair growth. Leaving filth on your scalp blocks the hair follicles, making it difficult for the hair to grow out of the scalp. I've been loc'd going on 24 years; I keep them clean, and conditioned, and keep them at knee length-- they've been calf length.
Not exactly, see it says women must not only braid their hair (as in they must not only Beautify themselves on the outside) but work on their hearts as well have good and calm spirits
