Thanks for video. We at OPSol appreciate it. The clip has been out for almost 5 years now. The shockwave was introduced in 2017, 1 year after we gave them some clips to try. Aguila has been selling minishells for a long time. Challenger came in abut mid 2018 I think, and then Federal in 2019. The clip and minishells are an excellent home defense combination for those who are recoil sensitve...in our case, our wives and daughters. As for the pistol, from our work, it comes down to accuracy.....not spread, but accuracy. In almost all cases, the less experienced shooters at 8 yards dial in mini shells very quickly, as opposed to pistols. And with 14 #4 buckshot pellets (essentially 14 22lr rounds) at 110 fps, lethality is not an issue. We have videos of a 10 year old unloading on paper at 8 yards with the raptor grip....but personally, the pistol brace gives the shockwave a feel that you have to try to really appreciate. Thanks again.
I have the 14" Shockwave with Opsol. Haven't seen shortys on the shelve for 2 years now but do half 2 boxes. I also added a laser/light combo on the mounted top rial which makes this the perfect bump in the night hallway self defense weapon.
Thanks! With ammo availability and prices right now, some 12 gauge shotgun and .22 is about all I can shoot these days. I don’t want to burn through my good stuff
@@TennesseeMatt no lie....I legit had my first cigar on sunday while shooting my first handgun - definitely inspired by you. I enjoyed it very much and found it very relaxing. I have a mossberg 500 with a 28inch barrel and wish I could afford an 18inch 5 shot barrel. 380 is expensive too. I sure picked a weird time to get into firearms. Thanks for everything, matt.
I purchased a Shockwave about a month ago. It did not come with anything that would help with using the short shells. I order the device from Defender Tactical that does the same thing as the Opsol. But from what I understand the Opsol must be removed to use the 2¾" or longer shells. The one from Defender Tactical does not.
You should look into the Esstac shell cards that just velcro onto the side of the receiver, i was running the hard shell carriers for a long time but i was converted after seeing the system put to the test
I just bought the mossberg 590S shockwave and the opsol adapter for the mini shell, but there's a rubber piece that looks like the opsol adapter already inside... am I missing something here?
From what I understand, the 590s comes ready to shoot mini shells already. They might be using that opsol adapter, or something like it. Either way, you shouldn’t need to purchase anything additional.
It is easy and safe to shoot from a high position especially using the OPSOL and shorty shells. But I added a combination light/laser for better accurate sighting and night use. Then you can shoot from the hip, from over your head, behind your back, upside down, sideways. A whole new ball game when you add the combo.
