That's not Mathog. Mathog is a grunt in Rexxar's campaign captured by Centaur in chapter 2. People make this mistake because of an unused unit named Mathog in the editor that's just a copy of the "Orc Warchief", the unit the made into the Slave Master for this mission.

@@lordmirkerus Different Grunt than the one I'm talking about. Garthok is in chapter 1, Mathog is in Chapter 2, read the entire comment and you will see how I said Chapter 2.

No, see, Mathog is actually the hero here: secretly, those villagers had all been infected. They may have looked fine, but it was only a matter of time before they turned into the undead!

@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 I didn't even know Mathog was a real character, I just thought it was a random name the guy who made the campaign gave him because he's a weirdo.
@@VeryPeeved It's ok, the small quest he's actually involved with is out of the way of the main story, so you probably won't find him unless you're searching the whole map. And he doesn't really add a lot to the Rexxar mission anyway. He's literally just locked in a cage, asks you to free him and his buddies and then leaves to join Thrall's troops. That's it. People have just incorrectly attached the name Mathog to the Slave Master thanks to the unused version in the editor. It's a common mistake.

Never wold have ever tought to see Warcraft 3 becoming a meme factory of commedy videos, well 20 years over ti's release. I hope it could become as big and long standing as HRPs
You know, I always assumed that the story of this mission (the Orcs raising the village) was predicated on Arthas canonically having a hero complex and arriving too late to preempt the orcs. Also the possibility that the bandits here and in mission 3 are actually Cult of the Damned agents to slow down Arthas and lead him along the Lich King's script.
The Gnolls and bandits were in league with Mathog's Orcs! I knew it! There's also a surprising amount of custom models and sounds for a reversed campaign. Sometimes it's appropriate like with Mathog's green skin but more often it's a distraction (just my opinion). And I liked how you used Warlords of Draenor music in the end. Good timing, Arthas died at the same moment as Mannoroth in the cinematic did.
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 I've always been wondering where he and Jubei'thos got red skin. Unlike Grom's clan and Outland Orcs, they didn't have an opportunity to drink more pit lord blood but yet appeared to be Fel Orcs. I thought that Reforged fixed this with Mathog, but even there Jubei'thos remained red-skinned (or, more precisely, orange).
@@farseer2043 That's not actually Mathog. It's a common mistake as a unit named that is in the editor and uses the same model and stats as the Slave Master and goes unused in the final game, but the Slave Master and Mathog are different people. Mathog is actually a grunt captured by Centaurs in Act 2 of Rexxar's campaign. As for why they have red skin, probably just enhanced themselves with more demonic magic than other Blackrock orcs or perhaps they still summoned a demon to get more blood and give it as a reward or something. The lore on their skin wasn't as fleshed out back in the day so that's just my theory.
Considering the amount of healing Arthas was putting out, I have to wonder if forgoing conventional wisdom and just target firing him down from the start might have been a better strategy. But that would have been less cinematic.
@@Redhead-pf8le That's almost as mindbogglingly stupid as the dumbass life link crap going on a couple missions ago, or... or half of the weird shit that's going on with this custom campaign in general. Who made this? Why do this interesting campaigns always have to be made by people who cannot into grammar and make dumbass decisions constantly?
@@Redhead-pf8le I am so sick and tired of RU-vid. I can't even express my disagreements with the way a custom campaign is balanced without RU-vid just arbitrarily deciding to erase my comments repeatedly no matter how I rephrase them.
