When Davina was making him turn he legit was turning and before he did he morphed and had paw transformation and hair on his face. So let's break it down Klaus had his wolf side suppressed for 1000+ years . He was only a hyrbid for 10-15 years! He never touched his potential, I'll admit Lucien is the only one to beat Klaus and if Klaus went full hyrbid mode it would've been great to see. Klaus literally uses paw transformation a few times, I believe Lucien is only one , not beast Marcel not mikael not Elijah, when Klaus wants the fight to end he does it without effort . Remember Elijah tried everything to stop Klaus in S5 ? He twisted Elijah back a made him do a 720flip. Klaus is much more powerful than his siblings Elijah just has technique which does make a difference. Even Marcel has great fighting style and it helps especially against old vamps who rely on brute strength. If Klaus fought like Elijah and had that technique he would be too OP he does know how to fight just relies on brute force and fear . Klaus only had a mental fear of mikael which does play a HUGE ! Role Klaus stomps mikael without the mental barrier. Lucien is the only one I believe could beat Klaus even with Klaus being in his hyrbid state . Now give Klaus the weapon to kill Lucien Klaus wins . Now imagine Klaus was a hyrbid and never had it suppressed.

Mikael absolutely beat klaus outside davina’s cabin whilst suffering many wolf bites. The strength difference for the original hybrid compared to a original vampire is much less significant compared to the strength difference of a non original hybrid compared to a non original vampire. Don’t give the mental state bs, yes it’s there but klaus fighting for his life isn’t holding back, mikael, Marcel, lucien and Alaric all best klaus there is no question or argument to be made. Nothing inconsistent here. Elijah has always been able to fight on par with Klaus plus he is more calm & strategic when he fights. Klaus has to fight a little more seriously when taking on Elijah. Elijah is no pushover
