I was also fortunate to meet Merrill in June 2009 when he did an afternoon meet and greet in London. I managed to keep my cool and he was so sweet and very hands on. Those eyes are captivating too.. It's something I will remember forever :) He was and still is my most favourite of all.
These guys ( ok Donny) kick started my hormones Big Time.....he still manages to make my weak at the knees.... love ya Donny Thanks for the clip Gailxx
I was a big Donny fan in the day. I remember the day when my mother told me that Marie was making an album with her brother Donny. I have that 1974 album. I became a big fan of Donny and Marie. I also had an Osmond poster on my wall pre the Donny and Mare show.
Our parents may have considered them safe but when I looked at their gorgous faces, dreamy eyes and tight white jump suits my thoughts were anything but clean!
@lucycow He said 'ONE' of the most FAMOUS brother and sister acts. He didn't say THE most famous nor did he claim them the best selling. I imagine The Carpenrers did sell more than Donny & Marie but that doesn't mean they were not successful recording artists themselves, along with the whole family whether as a group, due or solo. Whether you're a fan or not, I don't think anyone can question the popularity and success the Osmond family and the Carpenters enjoyed, and still do.
I think Karen's and Marie's eating disorders shows where family unity comes in. After that network executive criticised her for gaining weight Marie struggled for a time but came out of it because of the help of her family. Karen didn't have that kind of help.
I think Richard tried to help Karen, but he had his own demons to fight. Karen needed counseling. I dont know that much was known about anorexia until she died from the affects.
