The Ottawa Senators Are Finally Ready to Compete

In today's video I talk about the Ottawa Senators and why I think they are finally ready to take the next step and compete for a playoff spot this season! The Atlantic Division will be extremely competitive this year but with all the talent on both offense and defense, and a goalie tandem that should also be solid I do see Ottawa making the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle, Claude Giroux, Thomas Chabot, Jakob Chychrun, and Jake Sanderson are all excellent NHL players that are ready to take this team to the next level!

As a life long flyers fan , ya'll are blessed to have Giroux. He's still playing at an elite level , perfect to mentor the young studs in Ottawa. I miss him😭

I'm a Sens fan and the pesky Sens term was popular about 10 years ago, but fell out of use because it referred to a particular group of players for a few years. Am I wrong on that? This current Sens team isn't pesky regardless. They're right in your face and will dominate any teams without solid 2-way play (a la Carolina) and good goaltending. Who wants it?! LFG! Nice video! I gotcha, I thought I saw Brady tkachuk refer to them again as the pesky sens in the last year or so too. Exciting team tho and appreciate the kind words !

I don't know about elsewhere, but the community over at Silver Seven Sens still uses it. It's usage has slowed down over the last year or so, since the term was mostly used during the lean years of the rebuild, referring to the Sens outworking and defeating teams that would underestimate them. Now that the team is expected to win consistently, pesky sens is mostly used when referring to the 2020-21 and 2021-22 rosters.

Pesky Sens referred to when we were underdogs day in and day out and we could we win/clutch. We are expected to win now. 😎

They’re looking good this season. I thought Sanderson would slow down after getting that big contract but hes started off great. Gonna be a good game when they faceoff against my kings! (Also love the vids and keep up the great work)

Theres a lot of young talented depth. I feel like Ottawa generally does a good job accumulating these guys but then it feels like every cycle starts with that, some success and then they struggle to keep everyone right as they reach their peak. Mostly everyone leaves and goes on to win everywhere but Ottawa. We need an owner thats not afraid to hug the max cap to keep winning teams together. Well see if thats the case this time around.

We have plenty of offense, we need one more solid D, we need Pinto back in the line-up and we should be in good shape. Not many Sens fans down here in the ATL but I’ll wave the flag every chance I get!

I actually think The Panthers are not going to take a step back in the regular season, since their last wasnt exactly great, but I'm not expecting them to make another deep run. The Sens look great. I really hope they make it.

The Panthers have some injury woes that I think will make it difficult for them to make the playoffs. They have really good depth but they are missing Ekblad / Bennett and of course, Montour. Kind of hard for any team to go down those kinds of players and make it to the playoffs.

@@TheOvermaster They barely squeaked in last year and now that they are more comfortable with Maurice I think they can at least do the same. But yes, missing Ekblad and Montour hurts a lot.

It’s a bit early to celebrate the Stanley Cup, 3 games into the season. They certainly are a better team than last few seasons, let’s revisit in March.

the sens started 4-2 last year before going on a 7 game losing streak. You really need to wait 20 games to know what you have.

I would’ve made a similar video even before the season, I think they made good moves in the offseason and proved last year that they are pretty close to pushing for the playoffs
