Tim Thomas had a long road to the NHL. He was drafted in the 9th round in 1994 and didn't play in his first NHL game until 2002. That didn't stop him from eventually becoming a two time Vezina Trophy winner, a Conn Smythe winner, and a Stanley Cup champion with the Boston Bruins. He also had one of the best single seasons in NHL history during the 2010-11 campaign.

Oh I'm not so sure it was Tim Thomas not ready for the NHL. The NHL wasn't ready for him.

Toughest SOB on the team that year. He 100% stole the cup for them. LOVED having that dude in net

Tim Thomas is absolutely the biggest inspiration ever. He never gave up, he played against all these young players and supposedly already peaked his prime, but the 2011 season came and he earned all his hard wonr

Bruins and Thomas fan here. What was interesting but not so touched on was that for 3 seasons he was the goalie the fans wanted, but played behind Raycroft, Toivennen (who was in impressing CuJo style but couldn't maintain it ) before being a 1B to Manny Fernadez (who if I recall, ended his career after awkwardly stepping and slipping on a puck). Thomas was definitely a warrior who gave it his all and you DEFINATELY didn't want to p*** off.

the canucks didn't even get double digit goals that series. They only scored like 8-9 goals that entire series like damn. Kinda crazy too that despite the lack of goals they scored, they did have a 3-2 lead going into game 6in Boston which means they COULD'VE won the cup in game 6 in their barn but the Bruins rallied back not just there but also in 7 as well. It was very unlikely that they would've won game 6 given how badly they got blown out in games 3 and 4 at the garden. Game 7 was neutral since they obviously won games 1, 2 and 5 there but it wasn't meant to be for 7 and they coughed that 3-2 lead up at the worst possible time. Ofc the bruins were almost perfectly healthy while the canucks were banged up pretty bad so they ofc used it to their advantage to rally back and win series 4-3 @@DropthePuckHockey

Problem with Rask was he pooped his pants every time it mattered

nah Rask had ice in his veins, sometimes you just lose it happens doesn't mean you didn't play well. There are so many moving parts in the flow of a hockey game.

@@johndoe-fq7ez I’m guessing you’re forgetting the bruins and Rask blowing a 3-0 lead against the Flyers, and then against the Blackhawks in the cup, and again against St. Louis. He was great, right up until the game was on the line in the biggest moment. In those moments: 💩 👖

@@Andy_Babb again sometimes you just lose bro you can be great and play great and still just lose. Everyone loves Henrik L from NYR, he never won shit and he’s still going to be a HOF prob. All athletes at that level will tell you there is a level of luck in all these wins and championships, therefore Rasks losses I attribute to just shit happening, he was great

@@johndoe-fq7ez meh lol agree to disagree but I respect your opinion man. I’m not saying he wasn’t a great goalie, just not as great as a lot of bruins fans make him out to be.
