THE STORY THAT DEFINED A GENERATION REIMAGINED AS A GROUNDBREAKING MUSICAL
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, the hardened hearts and aching souls of Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade and their chosen family of ‘outsiders’ are in a fight for survival and a quest for purpose in a world that may never accept them. A story of the bonds that brothers share and the hopes we all hold on to, this gripping new musical reinvigorates the timeless tale of ‘haves and have nots’, of protecting what’s yours and fighting for what could be. Adapted from S.E. Hinton’s seminal book and Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film, THE OUTSIDERS features a book by Adam Rapp with Justin Levine, music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, music supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Justin Levine, choreography by Rick Kuperman & Jeff Kuperman and directed by Danya Taymor.

I FORGOT HOW DIFFERENT THE SONGS WERE. They like put this in the reprise WHICH WORKS SO MUCH BETTER. I love how far this musical has come (especially cause I was obsessed with literally no content when I read it and now the musical is creating a HUGE fandom)

I saw the play in La Jolla earlier this year for its premiere night. And I knew I was going to Broadway. And Yes, I wept big globby tears through the whole play. ❤😢

Book is boring and contrived. Over hyped plus its just stupid. Don't even get me started on that Coppola mess. Bad hammy acting from good actors. Dillon was the worst ""Lets get em' for Johnny" CORNY. Howell can barely act. We have big brother Daryl telling Pony he can't get in trouble or they will take him to a boys home and them turns around right after the church incident and lets him fight in a rumble? Stupid movie and I bet The Outsiders on broadway won't last too long.
