Simon Yamamoto and Dexter Bateman climb The Path, a 5.14 trad climb at Lake Louise. Music and editing by Simon Yamamoto Dexter is supported by Monod Sports, Wear Foehn and La Sportiva
Such sustained, difficult climbing. The power endurance required to pull off that boulder crux is superhuman. I’d be pumped out my mind at the end of the 5.11 portion. Lol
Amazing. My hands got super sweaty immediately AFTER the crux when I realized you still had to traverse back right and up to to chains with your pro 15-20 feet below and to your right...and on trad pro too. So amazing. and sweaty
Super rad, nice to see more detailed footage of the route. Makes it look way better than any other images/videos that are out there. That's some proper rock climbing.
First off, congratulations to you both on the send. Second, Whoa! Dude, you knocked this video WAY out of the park. The music choices were superb, both unique and very fitting. Also, the editing, mixing in both of your send footage while choosing perfect moments to drop in the music, was awesome. Before I watched this video I was on the couch spacing out, watching youtube. Now I'm closing my computer to go hangboard. That's how good this video is.
this video blows me away, I watched it several times... What blew me away the most was how calm and collected both climbers were at the end. If that was Adam Ondra he would of been screaming after the send, and here you have two guys who have never climbed anything above 5.12 on trad - work this 5.14 route over and over until they sent it. Way to show us how deeply personal climbing is. That is an incredible line.
Epic video!! … filming, music, climbing, edit, intro gymnastics, route history, Daniel Craig comparison(spot on, dexter maybe a scosh buffer)… how do you guys only have 400 subs, tragic
Incredible climbing! Incredible filming! Such detailed shots of the route made me feel like I was right there. Really highlights how epic of a send this is. Nice job guys!
I really enjoyed the edit. Showing the progress of the two climbers at the same time. Being able to see the slight difference in style between the two. Well done!
Super sick video boys! The shots you got on the holds really let you see whats going on and thats super cool. Also really inspirational that with some hard work, good beta, and good tech y'all were able to do this, makes me wanna crush!
tremenda pared. debe ser durísima. Este ha sido uno de esos videos que me ha impresionado no solo por el paisaje sino por la dureza de la vía y la destreza para resolverla. gracias
Wow. Easily in the top 3 videos for me and some of the most inspiring stuff I've ever seen. Looks like I'll be giving my 5.14 dream route a try next year. Way to go gentlemen!
Holy shit boys that has got to be one of be most beautiful climbs I've ever seen. Well done on the send! Your filming was immaculate too. I gotta learn to place trad gear and get over to Canada haha. Keep it up keen for more content!
This really speaks to the incredible ability of the human body to rise to the occasion and evolve into what is needed of it. Awesome and inspiring. Damn
The lateral movements that you made over the rock with drop-knees and those leaning, shouldery moves! Love those parts! And you guys look like 5.13 grade climbers at least, not someone who hasn't climbed over 5.12 before! Hope to see you out climbing more challenging and inspiring routes after this experience!
YOU SHOULD BE WEARING A HELMET! JK I always get a kick out of those kinds of comments but I was surprised when I didn't see one. Sick Send! Loved the difference in beta on the crux
