I had a MK7 ST-Line as my second car, now moved on to the MK8 ST. I can say that a MK8 ST-Line would be a fantastic first car to have. Cheap to tax, cheap to insure, still got enough power to enjoy it. A 17 year old would be very lucky to have one in my opinion👍🏼
100% agree with you mate. Lads would be very fortunate to get one as a first car these days, especially if they compare them with what their parents had as first cars!
@@OLTAUTOMOTIVE exactly! Even some older generation hot hatches don’t have the power the ST-Lines have so it really isn’t a bad car especially for a first. I have to admit driving an ST compared to an ST-line, you really can notice the difference but at the end of the day the ST-lines still have more than enough power to really enjoy the car and the traffic on the roads nowadays you can hardly use all that power anyway 👍🏼
@@HillJamie17 I’ve never had the opportunity to drive a full ST but it’s definitely something I want to get round to! I know what you mean though, traffic these days almost limits cars to 20mph, even less in London!
@@OLTAUTOMOTIVE If you do get the opportunity to drive one you should! Would be a good video for the channel I think, especially if someone has driven both the ST-Line and the ST. Driving around London, you probably won't notice much of a difference as having driven both, around town at 20/30mph, they're both as nippy as each other but on an open B road, the difference is night and day. But yeah anyone who lives in London, the ST-Line is more than good enough as on them sort of roads, you don't feel the benefit of the ST at all. 👍🏼
@@HillJamie17 I have a few friends with the ST back home, so I may try and get a video out on one of their cars if I can! Would also give me the opportunity to test it on some country roads too! Or a friend in the capital had a Focus ST which I’ve always wanted to try out…
It's an electrically assisted power steering car. The wheel isn't going anywhere by itself as the electrical assistance also filters out wheels induced movements above a certain threshold
@@OLTAUTOMOTIVE The stability of the steering wheel instantly caught my attention when i first drove mine. I jumped from an old 2002 Focus to a 2021 Fiesta ST-Line so i kinda got hit right in the face with the humongous leap in technology 😂
Super tough question to answer! I’ve driven a lot of cars and all of them have different aspects I’ve liked, but I’d say probably my Range Rover Velar has been the best overall as it just provides everything. The Fiesta is definitely fun to drive too?

@@fabriziodonizetti5931 It really depends on how you like being in the car, steering wheel and seat position make a big difference. For me it works no problem and there's enough storage for what i need it to hold (wallet, keys, phone)
@@Kid574 thank you, it makes sense! unfortunately the fiesta wasn't available at the car dealer for a test drive so I don't know if it would be comfortable for me
Why couldn’t they? Insurance on these are not expensive at all, and they are cheap enough on monthly finance. I understand people are in different financial situations, but spending £200 or so a month on one of these won’t break the bank.
I get what you mean with that one, even this newest fiesta can feel a little like the previous generations with its interior. But as a first car it’s top quality and all you ever need!
@@mads205 Not sure if this was a reply to me or Michael, but I'd imagine he may be comparing it with other hatchbacks like the A-Class, A1, One Series... Just a few that are better than the Fiesta, but understandably more expensive too.
The concept is that people tend to start off with a fairly cheap car, and build up over the years as they grow older and change cars into something more expensive, should their financial situation allow for upgrades
