I truly am astounded that Niyat isn't a world renowned film figure. This is easily the best film review and dissection channel that RU-vid has ever seen. I fucking love you Niyat!!!

I know it's just me but been awhile since I watched filmcomicsexplained and I'm so used to his dark gritty story telling that seeing upbeat infographs and what not is just bazaar to me. Not a bad thing but I personally liked it because a lot of channels do this and I think his tone of voice coupled with the setting of the movie was always an amazing feel. His voice carried the information much better in my opinion than graphs and stylized cartoons

the change in vid style... words on screen, comical animations, vid of old man claiming to be "NIYAT", the fact that his name is titlecarded on the screen now &...BACKGROUND MUSIC SUDDENLY... freaked me out a lil bit. but still very entertaining.

The ending of the movie: the train, last refuge of humanity and guarantee of survival thanks to the genius and foresight of one man, crashes and burns with only 2 children, without any knowledge of the world or survival, without weapons or even basic equipment, emerging as survivors. They are immediately spotted by a polar bear, the merciless and quick apex predator of the frozen wasteland. Their chances of survival are about as high as the temperatures they face. This is not an allegory for hope and a fresh start. This is an allegory for catastrophe and suicide which social revolutionaries bring about with their fanaticism and short sightedness. You wanna end capitalism and crash society if necessary? Very well, but you'll probably end civilization with it and bring about mass genocide. And then you'll likely die because you killed all the people capable of actually restarting and running civilization, so everyone starves or reverts back to the most primitive level of hunter/scavenger in a merciless and brutal world of eternal struggle for survival, which is the exact opposite of the social justice/communist utopia that was promised.

The problem that this movie reveals is that one must sacrifice the current status quo in order to have a slim chance of improvement. The question then remains. Is the status quo worth disturbing when improvement isn't guaranteed? Surely life, even a terrible one, is worth more than extinction.

I watched the Netflix series before i watched the movie and they are both so very different!

Bong is such a nice guy, was a pleasure to watch this film, after seeing parasite. Not giving the Netflix one a go, because I know this story. Wilfred!!

Everyone's saying that this movie is an adult version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I think that this film is more like the Bioshock adaptation that we never got.
