@kakarot197 it's not the keychain, it's a box that her consciousness went into. It was at the very last part of ep 24, where Suletta, Miorine and others gather; the keychain is more of a sound device to transfer her voice, while her consciousness is in a box that was left when the Gundam became fairy dust.
Jokes aside, he was never absorbed by a Gundam, at the end of Movie he came back to Maria in a Gundam. But on the other hand, he would absorb the Gundam, not the other way around.
Gaelio was the true hero of IBO, he started out as conceited and narcissistic and stuck up, but McGillis’s betrayal humbled him. A true example of what doesn’t kill me, makes me stronger.
To be fair, it was SO early on, no one had any reason to believe that was even a possibility. Clearly, a few curious (and funded) souls dug into it and theorized correctly what was up (Aniheim folk 90% lol)
@@traphimawari7760 Nu gundam Psychoframe was beyond Char's specifications. AE took the "leaked" psychoframe and miniaturized it. when the tech looked over Kshatriya in unicorn, he called it older version of psychoframe
Full frontal wasn't a perfect clone of char. His mental state was completely messed up and he wanted to do the opposite of char and cause another one year war while char wanted humanity to flee to space/fight his boy friend
Well, since Setsuna is now mainly composed of ELS material, just like the 00 Quant, and knowing they have a merged conscience, Setsuna can also be the Gundam 😅
Well, setsuna is ELS now, quant is also ELS, I guess at this point he can just absorb his els body back into the gundam and control the gundam as his own body
@@randyyeh7576 Nah... It's the backward. Qan t and setsuna is the one being absorbed into ELS. With being the one as ELS, there's no separated gundam and human setsuna. It just ELS as one being 👀
So basically, Eri is just one of a very few example of the good ending for "souls trapped inside an MA/MS" story. Still alive even if she became a talking keychain in the end.
@@oratank Can't really get a good physical contact if you're just being a ghost 😂🤣 Besides, they can give her a Haro of something else to possess for a better mobility (of course using their space magics and shiet alike 😂🤣)
The creeping horror of what happened to space oomfie ever since El4n heard the laugher of children during his duel with Suletta will be one of my favorite experiences watching an airing Gundam series.
she rejected being given a new replichild body cause she thinks a lab grown body has meaningful consciousness so she literally brought that upon herself, she is already a taboo being in a gundam that she would actively commit genocide but oh! new replichild body? too far fam, you are so fckn sick mom!
Eri's fate as a marketable keychain, in contrast to the revelation of her fate, has been some of the best meme content for fanartists and fan comics since Orga in IBO. 10/10 would become a marketable keychain.
They Foreshadowed Eri being a lviing keychain by making it about Shakespeare's The Tempest. Caliban has become known as one of the first living ideas, a thing that has escaped the play itself. Eri is a calaban. Calabarn is a barn for all the lives of the Data Storm to live on in Eri's new life as a keychain.
Banagher almost got swallowed by the Unicorn’s psycho frame too, until the spirit of Cardeas and Ensign Riddhe reminded him that Mineva/Audrey Byrne was waiting for him to return to her. The latter part is the reason this moment didn’t make the list.
Rita being stuck in the fenex was a blessing to be honest. Free to explore and fly in space without anyone telling her or making her into a test subject.
I wouldn't say that Amuro became absorbed into his machine, as that would imply he merged with it. However, the machine did explode due to overload. The resulting residual psychic energy was so powerful that it imprinted onto Char's capsule, imprinting chars entire psyche. I also think some of his ehco was left in the t-shaped psyco device.
If nothing else (at a "lamans end") I'd say Amuro was in that rogues T-shaped piece of psycho-frame and easily "left this plain of existence".... or could have anyway, while Char probably was imprinted and took Amuro sticking around and having his 1-on-1 battles tber before braging him beyond
His consciousness was absorbed by the psycho frame later proven in crossbone when they actually put brought consciousness back and put it in a gundam temporarily and even gundam unicorn goes further into this when Bangheer almost transcends and joins amuro and them and when full frontal disintergrates and his consciousness goes back to char.
@@jamimuhammad3699 Right the psycho frame not the unit itself as for the unicorn it was built with an integrated psycho frame what I was saying he was not abosrebd by the unit itself the nu gundam shares parts from the of gundam in that aspect.
Something of an honorable mention which I think is fitting for this list was the OZ ace pilot who was running tests on the Wing Zero after OZ had recovered it. During the tests the Zero System would start to cause the pilot to go crazy like several others. When Duo in the Gundam Deathsyth Hell would confront the Oz pilot and the Wing Zero, Duo would win the battle and send Wing Zero and it's pilot out to space, once recovered by Zech in the middle of a battle the Oz ace's body was no where to be found in the Wing Zero's cockpit which means the Wing Zero have done something to its would be pilot.
TV Series Yes. In the Glory of the Losers Manga, He blew up Wing Zero and Zechs ended up rebuilding it to Wing Zero EW with Tallgeese Flugel and Wing EW parts.
Recovering bodies, when practical, is a standard military practice. My assumption is the team that was attempting to blow up ZERO pulled the body out either before or while placing explosives.
I love how the Mobile Suits in IBO are basically 40k Titans and Ein ends up essentially in a Dreadnought including just getting put in hibernation when not needed.
Kinda puts in perspective what dreadnoughts could be besides walking boxes. I love my chonky boxnaughts but if the librarian dreadnoughts can fly then we can install Alaya-Vinyana into dreadnoughts and make them White Scars approved with there speed and mobility.
the real reason Full Frontal is different, its not that he's not necessarily a person and just a body possessed by char's will -- it's that Nanai was so down bad for Char in CCA that she made a Char without the Gay-Gene
Did Rita really stuck inside Phenex? Or she chose to haunt it to keep Phenex away from humanity's reach, just like how Mineva faction "sealed" Unicorn because it's too dangerous for the machine to fall into wrong hands?
Rita= Bird or something metaphors are weird Ericht= is keychain now Marion= is a godamn racist computer system because a guy has a hate boner and is also driving people insane One of those is not like the others
For Amuro, if you check the background story created for the Gundam Factory Yokohama, he's kind of fully integrated to the F00. Being at first described as an "AI" , he then "wakes-up" during an activation test.
@@jamimuhammad3699 The one in Crossbone Gundam Skull Heart is a mobile suit called Amakusa, whose Bio Brain carries complete battle data and experiences on One Year War Amuro. SRW V adapts its story where the Amakusa fights Tobia and the protagonist (standing in for Grey Stoke), acknowledges their determination, and actually acts like real Amuro by guiding the heroes out of the collapsing enemy's base.
I feel like Mikazuki also counts since in the final battle, Barbs continued to fight, despite Mika actually having already perished. Honestly, the same goes for the G.R.F.C.
@@Peasham This is something I'd wished they'd explored further since given the physical connects to the frames along with the thing about Agnika Kaieru's soul being believed to reside within Bael which going beyond a mere metaphor implied the Gundam Frames may have all had such examples within them. And if not necessarily full-on souls perhaps mere imprints. So I am glad WfM at least somewhat explored the idea even if it wasn't quite the same. Still want more Calamity War & other Gundam Frame content though, especially since there are still several units of the 72 that we haven't got. Like come on using that allows them to print a base 72 merch units whether kits or other items.
@@reeseolsen4052 I believe the scientific (fiction) term for stuff like this is usually "engrams", I'm likewise glad that in G Witch they're specifically the copied biometric data of the pilots, not their "consciousness", Eri is very much so dead and the Eri inside the Aerial is essentially a clone that is just the copied data of her entire body, which includes her brain and therefore consciousness. I'd assume IBO is likewise scientific, but well, Barbatos is out here howling and there was that one scene when Naze's wife appeared as a literal ghost for no particular reason, so who the hell knows. Not that it'd be a bad thing if IBO were supernatural, that's most of the franchise, but just sayin, there's def a debate to be had on what's up with it. Though you have to keep in mind, IBO season 2 was a gigantic failure, somewhat overseas but ESPECIALLY in Japan, which isn't me critiquing it for a second, I love season 2, but regardless that's why the trickling out of frames is so slow. It didn't fail as bad as AGE or G Reco, that would've been impressive honestly, and IBO is still getting some content here and there but.. I'd definitely look forward to more G Witch content if I were you. I'd rather we got equally more of both, but that just ain't gonna happen.
Great video but i have a question: What about Agnika Kaieru, the Bael's original pilot? Mcgillis refers to the Bael as Agnika sometimes. Is it possible that Agnika was absorved by the Bael? They say nothing about that in the series, i wonder if it is said in some manga. Thanks for at least reading this comment and sorry for my probrably bad spelling.
It’s not confirmed to be a fact . It’s a myth that Mcgillis believed and revered. For now it’s treated as a superstition since IBO does not have supernatural elements like UC, but maybe in future installments of PD timeline, this superstition will be explored, like a prequel about the calamity war.
It's more like a symbolism. Agnika is the founder of Gjallarhorn and Bael his mobile suit. With how much Gjallarhorn and the 7 Stars connection, in McGillis mind and scheme, anyone who have control of Bael is the embodiment of Agnika himself and have the right to lead Gjallarhorn as a whole
There was a side Manga of the Nu Gundam was salavaged and reused on Earth where it would absorb another pilot's soul in a battle against a psycho controlled Jagd Doga.
if you took gunpla into account, there are el-divers from the divers series who get transfered into model kits. and rize from the manga actually chose the core gundam itself (although it isnt the original).
It kind of depends. I've long speculated that the Ultimate Gundam incorporated the 'turns emotions into energy' system the Shining and God Gundam's had. The Devil Gundam thus needed a core for energy production that was alive to experience emotions and produce the energy. So if that's how it works, while I am sure the Devil Gundam could adapt to use a Solar Reactor (and might even abuse dense GN field telepathy/empathy in combination with it's emotion to energy system) I doubt that is ideal. On the other hand, if it got hold of one, for sure it would go hunting for the rest of them.
Now that Eri is revealed to be inside Aerial all along, can you imagine the potential horrors the Ad Stella will show like forcefully putting children's consciousness inside Gund-Arms to make them stronger and more accessible sometimes even by their own parents? Hopefully, I expect more of that stuff from the WFM spin-off manga.
it's not that Eri got put inside but Eri is genetically has the immunity over Data storm but because she was only a child at the Vanadis project and was exiled, she didn't get the help she needed so her mother who wanted Eri to be stay alive had to do something and the only thing is full body prosthesis with the cost of not having a human body
Its also worth mentioning those who die equipped with the AV system might also imprint part of their personality onto the Gundam such as Agnika did to Bael. (Weather its true or not is up to interpretation as its never confirm nor defined)
Here's my hypothesis on how Gund works (because Kira Yamato knows the show doesn't delve into it): Gund is a technology not for the construction of prosthetics (or mobile suits), but for the control of said prosthetics (or suits), specifically, controllingbthem using the brain directly, but without needing to do surgery on the noggin or spine. This is how it works: permet is put into the body (either it naturally clings to anything carrying electrical signals or it's on the back of nanobots). It then clings to surface level nerve endings through the body, and carries their signals to and from the intended machine. Of course, if the permet score (signal intensity) is too high, the permet inside the body will glow, going from less energy intense to more energy intense (red> blue> white). I have two pieces of proof for this theory: One, there's several scenes where there's a tube going from the cockpit seat of a gundam to the backpack, both in the prologue and in the show, and second, in the boston dynamics test episode, you can see something strapped to suletta's back, under her clothes. Probably a permet container.
Or a theory like this... Since human brainwaves is personal and detectable. It was used as register method to permet. But if permet score was too high it will put strain on body and brain of the user. And with this it explain the scene of grandma in vanadis registered eri and said now Lfrith can hear her.
I didn't see it happen, but I have read somewhere that in SRW 64, if you fail the conditions to save Allenby, Wong will call her back and install her in the Dark Devil Gundam.
brother, you were nice enough to put a spoiler warning right before the WFM section of this video, but the thumbnail of this video is pretty much a spoiler
Amuro Was less absorbed and more so expanded into a new type god. As in his consciousness expanded and he lost his physical form And became an energy being or whatever new types become after death.
What if the Ide from Space Runaway Ideon is just both Amuro and Char trying to eliminate conflicts again and again each civilization and failing ultimately leading to those civilization's destruction
@thomasthemechengine6410 Admittedly, i've never seen space runaway idon, but I know that visually, it's a lot like the original gundam series. Although the idea you've mentioned is a pretty good one, even if it's a really sad one.
Would the Unicorn Gundam, be the opposite of the pilot merging into the mobile suit? In Narrative, we didnt see banagher's newtype spirit being passed the Phenex simp, instead it was the unicorn.
He was snapped out of it and thankfully returned to his body before he melds into the machine. In Rita's case, she was not powerful enough to handle the Unicorn, much less the Phenex, which has stronger Psychoframe than the other two Unicorns.
They quickly bring up in one of the later class scenes before everyone goes to hell that permet was discovered in everything and Eri is basically a being made of permet so it's not too much of a stretch.
@@DualEdgest I mean why turn her into a keychain and not ANYTHING ELSE at least something with mobility now Eri has to hear her Clone/Sister fucking while stuck in Mio's purse
i don't think so, the cockpit was protected and he passed out in the later half while his conscious is still guiding the psycho frame. but he was never absorbed into the unicorn as far as I know.
@@randyyeh7576 I heard that the novel version said Banagher got fully absorbed into the Unicorn like Rita did but I'm not sure if he can control the Unicorn or he's just in there
i dont really like the ending of witch. i know what they were going for, the good old newtype, thouights for everyone. but in the end it was too fast. how exactly did it work? it went from space technology to space magic on the flip of a dime... stopping a super lazooooor with space magic... nah, thats not great. the show was cool though up until that point. but that ending wasnt it.
WFM had so much potential. The setting they built could have been Gumdam: The Expanse and might have been one of the best sci-fi anime ever. Instead we got schoolyard drama, duels that make zero sense in any rational setting (I mean you could bet people, marriages, companies, on them?! it would be utter chaos! Way worse than we see in the show! No one would be okay with that!), and setting devoid of 90% of the development we get in other Gundam stories and an abrupt super weapon vs space magic finisher with a sapient keychain.
@@heavyarms55 I could use my suspense of disbelief for the school stuff. But when they pulled the space magic fused with technology... That was just too much. As a side note. I don't like it when a show introduces an ability that kills the user but never actually hurts anybody with consequences. These 'levels' the show introduced are very much like the kaioken in dragon ball Z. The kaioken did put Goku out of action but only AFTER the fight ended. Meaning it didn't matter. So too in this show. Only once did we see it actually hurt a user. Suletta got knocked out when the fight was already over. Afterwards she just walks it off. Anyways. I understand what they were going for with their space magic. But unlike with gundam unicorn, here they just never bothered developing it.
I love how Gundams have been disabling Permet tech for most of the show but when it happens in the ending suddenly it's a deus ex machina that happens out of nowhere lmaooooo
@@tyhy1 No, please, spoil it for me, tell me in your words what happens in the final episode that hasn't happened prior in the show, I'd love to hear it.
Now I honestly want my soul to be in a Gundam Frame voluntarily and painlessly without anything going wrong. Swap out armor parts is like changing clothes. I wanna look like a Marasai or Dreissen? Swap armor parts. Done.
Don't know about Amuro and Char since we don't even know what happened to the Nu Gundam and the Sazabi's pod. And wasn't it stated that psychoframe piece that went flying off come from the Sazabi? An unintended function of the psychoframe is that it can store ones consciousness like a back-up hard drive. But since it wasn't designed with that in mind, the back-up a minor imprint at best, along with a bit of Amuro and Lalah. The 'soul' talk just makes me roll my eyes and chuckle. But likely Rita's state is due to being a Newtype that underwent the cyber newtype treatment. A special kind of treatment judging by what they Titan officer and doctor talked about. I thought Marion's current condition was undecided? Stuck between she died upon the mental transfer or being in a coma cause of it. Personally, I feel the former is appropriate to Gundam. Marion was a victim of bigotry and fear. And we set her to rest. Mika and the others had an incomplete form of the AV system based on leaked designs. Wouldn't the genuine AV system mean there would be no worries to the pilot if the limiter is disengaged? Basically, the GUND-Arm system caused information overload on the pilot. As to why Eri was compatible with the system, my leading theory is her age. She was only 4. Her brain underdeveloped, easily molded and adapt. And, while I was surprised, I wasn't shocked given what I've understood of Permet. Basically, its the psychoframe harddrive fully realized.
About the AV system: Yes, the genuine AV system wouldn't have any effect on the pilot. That's because the genuine AV system can be implanted at any age, and thus an older pilot can take a lot more feedback from the mobile suit, the more implants they have. I just feel like there has to be a limit, even with the genuine AV system.
It depends on which media for Marion in the orignal game’s release the good ending or possibly true ending has her living which I appreciate she doesn’t need to be laid to rest but in the manga as kakarot was saying Marion died however the manga came after the game. But Ik it got remade in 2013 with the Alive ending so what your saying has more merit.
The v Gundam's Psycho-Frame, as revealed in the movie, was localized around the cockpit. It can be surmised that the same is true for the Sazabi since the Psycho-Frame concept was intentionally leaked by Char for Amuro's use(It is confirmed in external media). The Axis Shock was a result of both cockpits and the the T-shaped sample resonating once Amuro and Char reached a new level of understanding under the duress of imminent death.
"You're on the council, but we do not grant you the rank of Gundam" Setsuna: "What? This is outrageous This is unfair, how can I be in the council and not be a Gundam?"

eri probably got a fate worse than death, being stuck in a keychain speaker, with other versions of yourself because of a clingy little sister/clone, for who knows how long. the others at least got released from their fates, whether it be freedom or death, eri doesn't even get that luxury lmao
Compare that to being stuck inside a Gundam without the ability to do literally ANYTHING without a Data Storm present. At least inside the keychain she can talk and go places with her sisters.
