The fact that the creator of The Book of Life mentioned this movie on his official Twitter is insanely funny to me

Coco and The Book of Life did an outstanding job with the plot on the reason to travel to the Land of the Dead.

So the antagonist has been winning the singing contest for 10,000 years. As far as researchers have found, Dia de los Muertos has roots in beliefs about 3,000 years old (give or take). She's literally older than the holiday the movie's themed after. It makes perfect sense.

The person the skeletons in both Día of the Dead and Coco is based off of is Frida Kahlo. She was a famous Mexican painter who gained her immense fame after she died. I did a presentation on her for Spanish immersion. She painted pictures to represent her chronic pain but because her husband, (which she divorced and married several times), was also a painter, she didn’t get credit for her art until long after she died. Because of this, we still don’t know how many art pieces she really made.

The fact that the kid character in the film looks nothing like the one on the cover is icing on the cake.

Fun fact: BC Fourteen is an actual person, and that is his actual name. The reviews to his movies are mostly to predominantly negative. He also wrote a movie called "Trump vs. the Illuminaghti".

I’m surprised these studios don’t get swamped with dozens of lawsuits.

Surprisingly, the different AI's I've toyed around with for "storymaking" do actually contain a lot of these inconsistencies. They introduce random plot points, they have characters jump into and out of existence. I would absolutely not be surprised if this was actually written by an AI program.

My theory, WowNow Entertainment is a money laundering scheme, which would explain why they are so secretive about their voice actors, animators and even their location

Hello, Mexican here, I just wanted to point out something that I noticed. The little kids mother looks a lot like a mascot from a company here, her name is Mamá Lucha. She's very well known here in Mexico and I don't know if the fact that they have so much similarities is a coincidence or was done on purpose to rip on her.

Coco was a beautiful movie, one of the few movies that brought tears to my eyes. Really a shame for people to rip it off like that.

I looked up BC Fourteen, he is apparently a real person, who is a American screenwriter, novelist, film director and editor. But for all we know he could be a robot with human intelligence!

I’m shocked to find out that a “Coco” rip-off exists, but “Ice Age” didn’t get a single rip-off. Maybe it’s because 20th Century Studios protect their franchises REALLY good. If you do know any “Ice Age” rip-offs, please mention it in a reply. So that I may find reviews for it.

I love how the kid pictured on the official poster looks nothing like the one in the movie. Luchadora Shrek Mom and Frida Kahlo Skeleton are nowhere to be seen either. It makes me think it was originally WAY more similar to Coco, but they decided to change mid-production and kept the concept poster art for whatever reason

The fact all the skeletons have like. Traditional Peruvian clothing in a supposedly Mexican setting is just. MUAWH. icing of the cake.

The masks blinking with the characters like it was their skin got a good chuckle out of me, along with the blinking eye holes of the skeletons lol

weird thing that really freaks me out: the mom and kid both have visible faces and blink separate from the masks but the dad has only a tiny spot for the nose that you can’t really see and the mask blinks when he does. i don’t think the dad is a human

What I'm getting from this story is that the mom died and the dad has to tell the son a sugar-coated story about how she went to go be a singer and if this was realistic, they wouldn't actually go to the spirit world unless they traveled like Miguel did, anyway, they go to her grave and the son understands she's dead. Overall I think I lost my mind trying to understand this movie xD

When I heard the name WOWNow, many deeply hidden memories of me watching all their movies for laughs returned to me. We cannot allow this monstrous being of a studio to exist any longer.

I think in a few years from now, Wownow will be exposed for some kind of crime and people will look back on it like “I can’t believe that this creepy mysterious inconsistent film studio was evil” And it’ll be on a true crime podcast or something

Pointing out that you can hear the insanity in Sabers voice at times. It's like he's trying to contain himself, but really cannot take much more.

I didn't know Mamá Lucha was such a deadbeat mom. (For those who don't know, look it up. It's a mexican mascot for a supermarket chain and they totally ripped her off)

I've just realized that my favorite Sabrespark videos are the ones where he gets angry. I genuinely feel good about knowing someone else can have such a negative reaction to a bad movie. Did anyone else notice the... weirdness with the dad's arms? Is it just me, or does it look like they're backwards or something?

Book of Life is a pretty decent movie too. Not as good as Coco but I liked it. The ending of Coco with Miguel singing for his great grandmother still brings tears to my eyes. That's a mark of great storytelling there. It's able to bring out emotion in the viewer.

It's nice hearing someone bring up Book of Life. So damn underrated and a really fun movie.

I felt great fear when I saw the thumbnail, meaning I had to click on the video immediately.

In the scene where Hector revealed that he tried what he did because he wanted to see his family again, you really felt it, you could see how much he loved them because the cinematorgaphy was that good at conveying it. The expressions, the angles, the lighting, Hector's vocal tone, all wonderfully executed. And the moment he decided he was going back to his family, he didn't let anyone stand in his way, not even Ernesto. If it weren't for Ernesto poisoning Hector, he would have seen his family! I know Hector went away in the first place, but he still wrote to Coco while out and about. I say all that because the mom in this is basically our Hector, but missing any of the charm. She has no excuse to go to the land of the dead two years in advance, her facial expression nor the cinematography were good enough to convey her seemingly caring about her family, and even if she was being honest, she was a pushover and let that mummy convince her to stay!

Renowned painter, Frida Kahlo, is such an amazing singer that she managed to win a contest 1000 years in a row despite the fact that she only would have been 115 years old if she were still alive today, apparently.

Dia de los Muertos is a Latin American celebration not just Mexican, but Mexico celebrates on a much larger scale. Nov 1st is for children who have passed and Nov 2 is for all who have passed.

The fact that the mom, dad, and son are all dressed as luchador's for some reason reminds me of that CN show Much Lucha. Except here, they just stick out like a sore thumb, because no one else is walking around dressed like that.
