This historical event between the Ming Emperor Yongle and Sulu Sultan Batara is one of the most important piece of world history. The importance is relevant today, it is of utmost diplomatic ties between two countries. I really admire Emperor Yongle for his honor of Sultan Batara and his family. It's great to know that the government of China respects and supports Emperor Yongle's wish still. Princess Jacel Kiram must spread the message of her family ties with China. Philippine people should understand their true history, not just what the West portrays.

True, west Philippine Sea wants to claim by the Philippine when infact it belongs to The Sulu Kingdom. When Philippine is not yet Philippine. Philippine is so possessive to a wealth that is not belongs to them, rather it belongs to the Sulu Kingdom. So shameful...😞

This interview is very important because it highlights the already established diplomatic relations and history that Asian nations have with each other long before the imperialist west came to colonized the whole region. It is so tragic that the Sulu kingdom not only lost its domain but also its history as a result of Western colonisation. The Sulu kingdom, like Australia, NZ and America, was Terra Nullius or No- man-land and the natives were part of the fauna and flora of the land according to the Western conquerors. As we know now the native people were massacred, forced out of their land and forced into Christianity at gunpoint. The question is what have the descendants of the suppressed people learned from this tragedy or are their minds so utterly colonised and paralysed.

I do not agree, at all. Your vision of the american history is twisted by the british and united statesian "trhuth tellers" España didnt had colonies, neither convert at gun point the inhabitant into christianism, you didnt get a book about how Cristobal Colon was corrected by Isabel I de Castilla when the queen siad that the peoples of the new wolrd where spanish citizens under the same law of the european catholic kingdom, the malinche was native woman married to a conquistador and part of the aristocracy, her hiers even support Franco and the spanish crown during the interwar revolution against the comunist republicans.

Time to educate and open the mind and heart of the Pilipino to recognized the Sultan of Sulu is the real People of this land that till now they are fighting for thier rights and freedom. That's why we have MNLF. Royal Army of Sulu Kingdom, and among others... These groups are fighting for thier independency.

We are the Chinese Tausug our Father late grandmother was a Chinese from China. We are pleased of China, indeed a friend and was never a conqueror to the Mainland of the Tausug the Sulu Kingdom. Sulu only claimed that North Borneo (Sabah) was given by Brunei to Sulu as a gift for purportedly helping Brunei fight rebels. But Brunei refuted this claim and denied ever having given North Borneo (Sabah) to Sulu. There was NO DOCUMENT regarding the transfer of ownership of North Borneo (Sabah) from Brunei to Sulu signed by both Sultans. The same as she said, it was only "oral" record from generation to generation. @ 5:03 .

We love Xi Jin Ping because he is continueing to the depend the south china sea...we are sulu peoples need the help from the government of China to depend our homeland from any form of colonialism... In reality there is no west philippines sea in the world map...the philippines was a new government born in the mid 20th century how can the philippines got a sea?... As i know there are only a South China sea, Sulu Sea, staright of Malacca, celebes sea and the sea of Java.... There is no such west philippines sea...because the Philippine is a new born country.

The historical rights has not exist for a very very long time ago. How about Indian Sea, Mexico sea, they are not concluded the historical rights because the sea is gods creatures. And the Law of the sea have been recognized very long time ago in which China is the one who signed for this Law of the sea. But China is the number 1 violator of UNCLOS law of the sea.
