I know! I work with formaldihyde, and besides smelling ungodly, it's deadly toxic, and a carcinogen. I cant imagine they put much of this stuff in their food, otherwise they wouldn't have customers for very long.
LagiNaLangAko23 no I don't think so.. they used to put heroin in child's cough medicine though and heroin was supposed to be a substitute and less addictive version of morphine.
He never meant to write that book to raise food safety awareness. His real goal was to inform the public about the terrible working conditions that people in those meatpacking factories were going through, but people were more disgusted at how they processed food
it wasn't just that doctor but those that are willing to be tested on that made things possible. kidney damage was one of their personal losses and that is self sacrificial, for the sake of the future others that weren't related to him. just, wow.
And now he could've get sued for poisoning these people even though we're eating safe food because of him. Nowadays people bitching about tests on animals or other people (people, who are volunteers) which provide good products for all of us, but some human beings just can't understand this.

I’m so glad food regulations exist! Otherwise people would be suffering. I thank the volunteers especially the one with the kidney damage who took part in the study to make sure we eat better food. Kudos to the poison supper club! 👨🏼🔬👩🏼🔬
So what really happened is that deadly poison was just swapped out for less deadly poison. Many of the food additives used in the US have been banned in many other countries.
Andhika Wildan Rabbani Meanwhile in the EU you can't even buy Borax as a private customer because of the chemical safety law. And I think the only food that is allowed to contain borax is Kaviar :D
I am currently reading the book The Poison Squad by Deborah Blum. It's very eye opening how food manufacturers snuck so many gross items into our food just to save a little money. Especially milk!!! Yuck! Thanks Dr. Wiley, Upton Sinclair, the Poison Squad, Teddy Roosevelt, and others who fought so hard to make our food safer. (It kind of reminds me how some are fighting so hard to get laws passed today. Whew!)
Personally, I liked the kick the food would give me five seconds after consuming it. It’s like when you eat a warm bowl of stew after a cold day of working accept the warm feeling inside is accompanied by a harsh tingling sensation in my lower intestines
