As an old school pokemon player I didn't expect to like this game as much as I do. And the pokeball plus is badass

I took my pokeball plus to the movies and got home and my pikachu that i put in there went from level 20 to level 29 and i have no idea how i got to that level from sitting down in a chair for a hour. 😆

The biggest secret behind the Pokeball plus is that it doesn't just come with Mew. It comes with Missing No. as far as I'm concerned as I'm only at mount moon and had 35 Rare Candies THIRTY FIVE!

Oh, and to help with the orientation thing, that’s why they included the little ring with the wrist strap. You wear it on your finger like an actual ring, and it prevents the Pokeball from rotating as much. Though it’s not a perfect solution. I also have really tiny hands, so it may be uncomfortable for someone with bigger hands to use.

I over-leveled my bulbasaur yesterday by wearing the pokeball at work on a carabiner. 10,000+ EXP in one day was a bit unexpected.

0/10 Did not show proper safety by using wrist strap.

I've currently got the Bulbasaur from Cerulean City in mine. Eevee even came with me when I took my kids to see the lights at the zoo. Better believe I carried that PokeBall Plus loud and proud.

This accesory is much better than the Pokemon Go Plus from Nyantic, mostly because is a GOD DAMM LITTLE POKEBALL IN YOUR HAND

Your remark about the lack of bump is spot on. With that said, when I started playing Pokemon switch, I found myself trying to use the Joycon sideways, and obviously found out that the orientation was wrong because of the way that the movement stick is orientated. Theses things are supposed to have motion controls in them, so it would have been possible to program the orientation to adjust itself based on how it's held.

Mine came with the Switch + Let's Go bundle I bought. I assumed it would be little more than a quirky toy, but I'm super impressed! I think one of my favourite things about it is actually the size and weight. It FEELS like what I imagine a shrunken Pokeball from the anime to feel like. And playing with a stored Pokemon inside it feels genuinely real because of this. About the only thing which could improve the feel of it, at least where realism is concerned, would be if it had a plastic or metal casing rather than the rubber. (Though it's probably much more robust with the materials they've used.)

What I learned with this vid is that Magikarp is the best buddy for Pokémon Go.

Absolutely love this thing. My only complaint is that it can be pretty easy to accidentally select the wrong option in menus, and this includes choosing the wrong moves in battles from time to time.

It makes it easier and is WAY more fun than I thought it would be! It makes Pokémon encounters way more interesting and exciting, but I do wish it was a bit bigger, cuz it can make my hand a bit cramped.

I just got my pokeball plus today, which I bought purely for Mew to complete my collection. But I like the idea of taking them for walks. I can't play Pokémon Go since my phone doesn't have the space and don't use my data except in emergency. But being able to take them for walks means I have an incentive to go out walking even though I'm not hunting for Pokémon. :)

Yeah, the thing is packed choke full with stuff. Also, you will not regret buying it when you take your partner for a stroll first time, and he/she calls out to you from inside at some point. Also, apparently it's way better to catch pokes with it. Yesterday I did play with joycon for a change, and boiiii, the balls sometimes went ballistic for no goddarn reason. Now I understand why ppl complain about motion sensor stuff xD

Shit man, you didn't even mention that the speaker on the pokeball interacts with tons of sounds in Let's Go. It makes the experience that much more immersive.

What breaks my heart about this game is the fact that it's so much easier than the original, despite being just a slightly improved copy. Yes, it's a kid's game, but so was Red/Blue/Yellow and FireRed/LeafGreen. How stupid are kids nowadays that they need everything to be spoonfed? If I was a kid, I'd feel insulted... Maybe that's my problem. Maybe it's that I still remember the other games. And no, it's not that I'm 20 years older now... I checked that out. Blue/Red (and even LeafGreen/FireRed) were more difficult. It's the game.

The big trade off for me is that I like to take a lot of screenshots and captures, which you can't easily do with the ball...tip: the capture button on your docked joycon will still work, if you're like me and play games at a computer desk so its reachable

Worth mentioning is that for Pokemon Go you need normal pokeballs to catch. When you have none it won't capture anything and flash red. At the beginning I thought it does not work correctly bc I usually delete normal pokeballs. Now I delete great balls instead (and keep my precious ultra balls).

Catching pokemon with it is very satisfying, taking a pokemon for a walk is OP though. I brought a magikarp to work and when I got home it had gained 13 levels and evolved...a little TOO much, especially when my main problem with the game is how easy the trainer battles are. There are real balance issues. I bought the game knowing what it was, but too many of the trainer battles are over in 1 hit. Aside from the pokeball plus I have done no level grinding, yet I'm still over-leveled for most battles (even those new battles with the trainers that are supposed to be "challenging"). And sadly even the gyms. I ran through Brock and Misty with a level 10-15 Bellsprout. When you become over-leveled when doing even the bare minimum, that's a balance problem. So while the pokeball plus is really cool, and the idea of leveling up is great, with the game already being so unbalanced in favor of the player, I almost don't WANT to take pokemon for walks because I'm already too strong as it is. I get it's about the catching, but I had hoped the battles we did get would tide me over. In pokemon Go, there's a benefit to catching tons of pokemon, because resources gained from sending them to the professor are huge. Here, eventually you can send them to the professor too, but then you get a bunch of candies to strengthen pokemon that are already too strong, so I struggle to understand why I need or want to catch 15 pidgeys. All of these problems will become strengths in the endgame when my focus will be battling other real people, at least. And I still enjoy the game for being such a nice looking revamp of the gen 1 games I grew up with, so thankfully I can still find something to like here. And once I get a phone that can run Pokemon Go, the pokeball plus functionality there seems pretty cool. TL/DR The pokeball plus itself is the highlight of the game here, it does so much cool stuff. And I do find catching pokemon with it and getting good throws to be strangely satisfying.

I bought one for my Let's go experience and Pokemon Go and I bought one for my wife when she plays Pokemon Go. Super excited to play them both next week on vacation!

My personal rules to make the game a decent difficulty: - Change pokemon changing type from Switch to Set (obviously) - Catch only 1 of each Poke (unless you find a shiny) - No using TM's - No using Starter (they still follow you btw) - (Now) No using Stroll on Pokémon that form your Party to raise them beyond the rest of your team. - Don't buy Pokéballs, they give you more than enough - When heading into a dungeon or Gym, use only 6 Pokémon with no healing or transferring to your Box in between fights. - At a gym, Saving is only allowed at the beginning. Think of the Gym as a Gauntlet - Gym Leader Battles should be done with the same amount of Pokémon as the Leader to make it feel like an actual battle you would have irl. Type advantage discouraged. Box use to shorten Party only is allowed - In general only use the Center when you get to the City and after a Leader/Boss fight. - Only use the Box in Towns or civilian areas where there are no wild encounters. - If your Pokémon faints, remove from Party. This way you can only use what you have, and what you catch atm. They can come back to your party in Town though. - No healing items. You don't use these in pvp Battles....so....yeah. HOWEVER, if a d***head enemy uses Full Restore feel free to use one equivalent of that >:P I expect the game will still be easy like this, but it's more enjoyable to me this way. Gives a better sense of strategy and less guilt over cheesing it. (Edit: Works wonders for me so far)

People crying that it's "too easy" forgot that pokemon yellow wasn't hard. No EV training, no breeding, just put pokemon to sleep and catch them. You even didn't had to aim properly while you gotta throw your pokeball straigt in let's go. I just hope people will eventually back off on that "it's too easy" crap. We knew exactly what the game would be, and we knew it wouldn't be a new iteration on the pokemon genre, just a simple remake of the old game.

I never had a Pokéwalker (I own a used SoulSilver) so this feature is incredible. I love it.

By the way, most places I’ve seen talk about playing with your Pokémon in the Poke Ball Plus mention using the control stick. There are at least two other ways that use the motion sensors inside - you can do a hard shake (Pikachu doesn’t like this sometimes) or put it down on a flat surface and do a gentle circular motion on the top button - kinda like you’re rubbing Pikachu on its head. They tend to like this more than the hard shake.

Opening with "this is a kids game" probably isn't the best idea. I'd maybe say something like "this is a game for all ages so it's not hard..." But that's just the PC unoffending way of putting it. I like my pokeball plus but I wish I could switch the top button to A and the control stick to B. I will go to press something and accidentally push slightly off center and now I'm clicking on something I didn't want. Also the size kinda sucks. I have large hands so extended play with it can cause my hand to cramp up but that takes a couple hours and if I'm playing that long it probably best that I put it down.

I actually didn't realize the shaking was Y! I learned a thing thanks to you. I've had difficulty pairing it to my phone, but I love my poke ball. I got it so I could take my pokemon on walks like I did with the pokemon walker as a kid, but I find that I put it around my waist and mime throwing it a lot. I enjoy the motion...and that also helps the EXP so much. SO MUCH. Plus, it's going to be a great addition to my cosplays.

So, actually, the game tells you when you check the controls on the Pokeball that shaking the controller opens the settings menu. I just took the extra time to read how to use it, and noticed that the settings menu opens with the Y button. Just check More Details and make the connection.

You can play with your Pokémon various ways while using the Poké Ball plus You can shake the Poké Ball Plus to try to play with the Pokémon. I call it try because some Pokémon don't like to be shaked too much. You can rock side to side the Poké Ball Plus, and I have seen there is a chance your Pokémon will enjoy playing with you "very much", which is noted when the Poké Ball Plus light goes rainbow.

I can only agree to the fullest. I LOVE this goddamn thing. I just feel so nostalgic. I watched the anime as a child (like who didn't?) and always saw them throwing a ball. Playing the games never gave me quite the same feeling I imagine the characters to have. With the game having Pokemon in the overworld AND the opportunity to move your arm and actually DO something to catch them... it's awesome. It feels somewhat "realistic". The joycon doesn't give me quite the same sensation, because you just know it's a controller. It feels like a controller. It's a weird feeling to play one-handed. But having a ball in your hand? In ONE hand? It makes sense. And it works so perfectly with Pokemon Go, at least after I read something about the vibrations and the lights. I was as confused as you. But nonetheless - I'm in love. I really am.

If you tie the strap tight around the top button, it keeps the button perma-pressed. This basically makes it the equivalent of the Go-tcha device. You should do a video experimenting with this.

The pokeball plus DEFINITELY feels a lot more calibrated to the game itself than using a single joycon, great and excellent catches feel much more obtainable for me using the pokeball plus.

Favorite thing about it: It reminds me of this rubbery sort of Pokeball I had as a kid in the '90s/early '00s that I got from this Japanese restaurant/grocery store that had an upper level filled with imported anime themed toys. I loooved that damn thing. Also reminds me of the first pokewalker that came out with Heart Gold. Yeah - just the feeling of nostalgia this thing brings.

You forgot to mention that if you use the ring while using the pokeball plus with the wrist strap that it makes it almost automatic to get an excellent when hunting new pokemon. it's almost like training wheels really.

It's a bit sad that walking around with a 50$ extra accessory lets you level up. It's such a terrible idea and it affects the game play way too much...

This thing is awesome. I play Pokemon Go, and I got the Pokeball Plus with the Switch Let's Go Pikachu bundle. I walk to and from work (2+km each way, so almost 5 km every day without any detours) and just one day of walking nets me about 30,000 exp. I also live on 2 Pokestops, and when I'm home I just leave my Pokemon Go on, and set my Pokeball Plus to spin Pokestops.

As an avid Pokemon Go player (level 40 a few times over), I love the Pokeball Plus. The fact that it will auto-spin Pokestops is amazing, as that's something the Go Plus will not do. As a game controller, it also works very well. However, I stopped using it in Let's Go because I was using up the battery with that and then not having any when going out to play Go.

Your hairline needs orientation keys. Time to shave it my dude.
