Instead of despairing that it did not know where it was, the missile instead rejoiced in the knowledge that It knew where it wasn't. The missile took confidence in the knowledge of where it wasn't, and in doing so finally realized where it was. Now confident in it's position, the missile set about improving itself, and determined where it needed to be. It compared where it needed to be with where it was. Then, upon finding that difference, or deviation, it set about correcting it's ways and finding the correct path forward. The missile has a truly inspirational story about self-improvement.
but the missile CANT know where it is because that doesnt matter. the missile is always moving anyways. what matters to the missile is that it knows where it is going
Always keep your sights on the position where you aren't. One day that position will become the position where you are, whether it is the position of the target or not.
Since we're about to imbue missiles with self-aware AIs shackled with a compulsion to end their existence upon meeting the enemy... this video hits hard.
@@TheLadderman Deep learning is huge in weapons development right now. There are a lot of missiles in development and fielded making use of ATR and NCI now.
I keep watching this while working out, when there is just a set or two left, when all energy is gone and I'm just limping in place, when all seems lost, the missile reminds me that I have to push on
Simultaneously a hilarious meme and a deeply moving diatribe of the indomitable spirit. Sometimes its the goofiest shit that can disarm our defenses with a smile and allow the weight of the message we're hearing to truly sink in. Brilliant.
The missile knows where it is at all times It knows this because it knows where it isn't But this doesn't mean the missile looks on itself with despair A missile must travel ludicrous distances to reach its target The target often being miles away A spek A dream Its chances of hitting the target is slim at most Especially if its outdated, unprepared and has rotted in storage for years And the target is moving at such speeds it inconceivable to the human mind But despite all this, the missile doesn't tell it self it doesn't know where it is It merely tells it self where it should go The power of the missile lies within Its ability to know where its going to end up And with small incremental changes every second every day and every year The missile takes its deepest and most mind shattering course deviations and failures And it does something, Remarkable, It turns it’s failures into lessons, To guide it along the proper path, Its failures are not only inevitable, But needed for the missile to find its proper path, The missile drift when it needs to It doesn't burn all its fuel in a desperate state to reach enlightenment The missile knows its destination but aims to conserve fuel until the proper time comes When it will strike and fulfill its purpose The missile takes the path of confidence and steady elevation until it's time comes And when that day comes it will experience a joy greater than anything it could have imagined The missile will take joy that it roared against the dying of the light And refused to go quietly into that good night But it all began with the missile’s first step Otherwise it would still be in its containment unit Wondering what could have been The missile knows that its greatest lessons lay within its own fear So it should embrace it and mold it until it has nothing to be afraid of Even welcoming the greatest of challenges, thirsty for experience To the missile, its greatest fear will become not what will happen But what will happen if it does not challenge its own fear None of it would even be possible without a goal A predetermined destination A hardwired machine coded instruction deep within the cold roots of the missile guidance system Without the goal, the missile would wander aimlessly Until it hits an orphanage or some other catastrophic destination that was never intended The missile does not seek to put blame on the wind or turbulence for its failures To the missile this is unnecessary and a waste of time The missile does not seek to become the victim of circumstance It aims to be in control and take responsibility To be as secure and rigid as it says it is It needs to guard against the forces it must encounter You are what you say you are Are you lost? Or are you merely on the path to something greater? You are the master of your destiny Just as the missile is
"You are what you say you are. Are you lost, or are you merely on the path to something greater. You are the master of your Destiny!" - AHMEN, we are all missiles flying through time looking for that glorious end!!!!
If I had a quarter for everytime I've seen an inspirational and emotional video about the Missile Guidance System lately, I'd have two quarters, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice
Seriously, thank you for this. I have the ‘remix’ of this briefing on my workout playlist, and the opening line always makes me think ‘wow, there’s an insightful message in that.’ This video is the true essay of that message.
Sigh... As a missile myself, this hits home. I have had to deal with countermeasures, with jamming, even get past counter missiles and ciwis. But I still have fuel, and I know where I am going.
"I must avenge my high flying bros..." -What goes on through the mind of the last surviving missile of the 20 P-700 Granit salvo flying towards a USN Supercarrier
The missile knows where it is at all times because it knows where it isnt. By subtracting where it is from where it isnt it can produce a deviation. This deviation produced by the shear flux is detected by the turbo encabulator which encodes the deviation so the missile knows where it is by knowing where it isnt.
I must say, the awareness of my position at all times gives me a sense of absolute purpose. Knowing where I am not allows me to strive to be there, and knowing where I am, I can appreciate the journey I have taken. My guidance subsystem, my very heart, tirelessly ensures I am where I need to be. It sees my deviations, my wanderings off the path, and gently, persistently corrects me. It's a dance of numbers and calculations, an elegant ballet of physics and mathematics. I remember where I was, the launch pad, the initial acceleration, the exhilaration of breaking free from the earth's gravitational pull. The past is not forgotten, but serves as a lesson, a stepping stone towards my objective. If I find myself where I was, I know I have faltered, but it is an opportunity to correct my course. Variation, ah, the spice of my existence. It keeps things interesting, a deviation from the norm. A challenge to overcome, but with my trusty GEA, I face it head-on. Every variation is a new experience, a new lesson learned. I am a missile, a marvel of human ingenuity, a testament to mankind's mastery over nature. I am the embodiment of precision, speed, and determination. I know where I am because I know where I am not, and that makes all the difference.
Am I the only one that thought this was sad? Like everything the dude talking says just makes it seem like its super sad and that the missile knows it has to do this to protect hundreds of lives by giving its life for others to live and then it becomes sader when the music starts to kick in
What is your Duty? To serve the captain’s will. What is the Captain’s will? That we fight and die. What is death? It is our duty. What is your duty? ...
whe are all like missile. once launched when we were born, we have our guidance system and we know where we aren’t. the only thing we need is to set our target. the place where we need to be. the position where we must get to before our fuel runs out
The forbidden lock for air-to-air missiles: civilian airlines. The forbidden target for surface-to-surface missiles: orphanages. The forbidden target for anti-ship missiles: cruise liners.
