This is probably one of the best stories I've heard on any channel online. So poignant, beautiful, eloquent. A satisfying ending. I want to read/hear more from this author!

Amazing story, brilliantly narrated. It's rare that a pasta gets me emotional, especially while also being effectively creepy and suspenseful.

This felt like a complete book or movie playing in my head. Very good writing and plot, I was so invested in the story! Also wonderful narration as known from you. 50 minutes of your voice, what a treat! If you ever did an audio book I'd probably listen to the whole thing at once.

Good story. In case, your younger viewers have never used a pay phone and it's been decades since I did, you have to put coins (usually quarters) into the slot and then you get a dial tone! The protagonist must never had used one before too.

You had me at "the gas station grew from the mist as I approached"

This was a great example of a kind of gothoc horror story telling. That sense of foreboding mixed with a forlorn hope to hear that voice one last time.

Wonderful story which for me was melancholic in that sad rainy day way… and of grieving and loss - one of the few survivors who listened to the advice. Renard would’ve been relieved he did… but then again, (the author) has always been prone to flights of fancy.

I’ve listened to this story so many times, with LHH narrating each time (: and it is up there with my top favorite stories. I always envision this story taking place in the late 70’s to the early 80’s with how everything from the cars to the motel and hole in the wall burger place looked. Wow, most creepypastas I've read/listened to are written by young, inexperienced authors, and it usually comes through pretty clearly. I don't mean that as an insult; I'm not a writer myself, gifted or otherwise and creepypastas are a great way to get some good early experience and feedback. However, the author of this story is an excellent writer, possibly the best I've come across in the countless ones I've read and listened to.

This honestly sounded like the beginning of a Scooby Doo episode at the beginning. I could imagine them predicting Renard would be the monster only for it to be the Teacher.

This was such good writing and even better narration!

See, this is a strange one. It has no definitive outcome of character. The same fella we saw going in is the same fella we saw coming out, and yet there is a sense of disappointment in the conclusion. The climax of the story is plainly written out, but at the same time, there are many different angles in which to view it from. On one hand: A man who has lost, and is willing to lose himself to regain that loss. On the other: A man who is confronted with the reality of his current situation, regardless of the inability to do anything about it. The ending line, "But then again, I've always been prone to flights of fancy," gives detailed background to a man who is headstrong and resolved to come to a conclusion in spite of the situational diplomacy of what he has put himself into. I think there are many different forms of torture, and the main character plays an excellent role of displaying at least one. To put himself into a place of desperation, and then letting it go in the same breath is a difficult perspective to accomplish, and the man has portrayed this struggle in such an open ended way. Truly an amazing short story.
