Exclusive acoustic thanks to MTV Live Sessions. All credit goes to them. You can watch on the site but I wanted to post it here because I think its a pretty rad version of the song. www.mtv.co.uk/artists/the-pret...
I love how she can change her voice from a simple singing voice to a deep rock type voice and yet she speaks like a young girl. Just awesome talent and beauty!
100% agree! Gives me chills every time. She is definitely at the top of my list of people I would love to meet, but instead of dinner, I would want to go bowling. It was my perfect first date. Just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. ❤❤❤
She does!!! There's a rawness to her voice that I find is often toned down on the studio recordings, probably when they go in and edit to smooth everything over. The rawness is what makes her voice so mesmerizing to listen to, and it's 100% there live
I think she's a perfectionist..... Or just really throws herself into her music 110%..... She really gives her all... Listen to Heart, that is one of my favorites from her.... You can hear how she feels what she sings.... She doesn't settle for, "that's OK"... It has to be perfect..... That's how she can have all you asked about.... Just my take...
Lyrics thank me later. I'm not listening to you I am wandering right through existence With no purpose and no drive 'Cause in the end we're all alive, alive Two thousand years I've been awake Waiting for the day to shake To all of you who've wronged me I am, I am a zombie Again, again you want me to fall on my head I am, I am, I am a zombie How low, how low, how low will you push me To go, to go, to go, before I lie down dead Blow the smoke right off the tube Kiss my gentle burning bruise I'm lost in time And to all the people left behind You are walking dumb and blind, blind And two thousand years I've been awake Waiting for the day to shake Dear all of you who've wronged me I am, I am a zombie Again, again you want me to fall on my head I am, I am, I am a zombie How low, how low, how low will you push me To go, to go, to go, before I lie down dead Oh dead, Oh dead, Oh dead To all of you who've wronged me I am, I am a zombie Again, again you want me to fall on my head I am I am I am a zombie How low, how low, how low will you push me To go, to go, to go, before I lie down dead
They are probably one of the least overproduced groups out...and they are still way overproduced. Those idiots(the upper management part of the "industry) still havent figured out that the covering up/"fixing" "flaws" in voices doesnt make it sound better. It makes it sound worse. The variance and sound that is lost trying to "fix" shit destroys it. Sure in some cases that group is HORRID live but sounds OK on record, but really they are rather few and far between(or at least used to be). Now though with autotune/pitch correction etc available even while singing "live" the over all skill of singers has gone down and manufactured sound has gone way way up. Its basically impossible to escape it, but you can at least minimize it by finding singers like her that actually know how to sing and ENJOY it.
the pretty reckless and taylor momsen are in my opinion absolute perfection. i love how taylor doesn't change who she wants to be for society or anyone else - and she's made me find myself and not be afraid to show who i want to be, love this song
She is perfect. I've replayed this song for days. Her live recording is just as good if not better than the studio version. That's some real musical talent, unlike most of the singers out there today that just get by on smoke and mirrors and flashy outfits. Her voice is really something.
this is the video that introduced me to TPR back in 2010~2011 and i always come back to watch this from time to time. I was luck enough to be able to go to two concerts and i filmed zombie because it was my first song, very nostalgic :')
The more that i explore these less publicized songs, the more i realize i really want to hear the stuff that was left on the periphery of these videos on YT.
When I first saw her, it was on a TV show and based on the sound of her voice talking I didn't expect her to sound like this but she is incredibly talented and beautiful. I actually knew The Pretty Reckless before I started watching her on TV and I was surprised when i found out she was the lead singer.
Alot of negative comments on women in music is purely that they are women and how dare they think they are real people men are praised for being themselves women are condemned for it ridiculous also calling women sluts is old and disgusting
