This show was pure magic when Bob hosted. Still fun as hell to watch, but when I was a little boy, I watched with my grandmother and it was nothing short of instant good feelings when someone wins. Bob was sharp as a tack too.

I remember when this short summer series of "evening" TPIR specials aired before my first year of college in 1986. It made me feel like I was back home again! RIP Rod, Bob, Mark Goodson & everyone else!

I've searched for this episode for awhile. It was taped the summer after I graduated from high school. My parents took me to California and a stop at The Price is Right was a must. This was the 1st time I was at a taping of TPIR and I have been to 14 since. Unfortunately, I have never been selected to Come on Down, but TPIR is and always will be my favorite game show.

None of the tapings you went to was syndicated, right? You know that there's a limit of two appearances in the last decade upon being chosen.

Love a St. Louis showcase and a St. Louisan is part of TPIR history too! Roseanna did eventually marry Gene Gieselmann and is still living in the metro area

The inaugural "Price Is Right @ Night" episode. I watched this on KCBS - CBS Channel 2 in L.A. and was 15 at the time.

Not entirely true. There was the ‘72-‘80 nighttime version. This was the first version to have significantly more expensive prizes

Why did they do these 6 specials in 1986 I always wonder about that.
@TheKevTravel
@TheKevTravel 2 года назад
At the time, NBC won the prime time slot on Thursday nights with their comedies, such as “The Cosby Show”, “Cheers” and “Family Ties” in terms of viewership, so CBS tried to air these specials to gain and beat NBC’s viewership but it wasn’t successful. Kind of interesting they’d do this when it’s been dominating daytime television

I’ll be honest. I’m a little disappointed in the intro of Hole in One (or Two). I was hoping there’d be a surprise reveal if someone missed a putt, even if it meant not getting that reveal the first time it was played.

During the Clock Game - they should have had colored envelopes to have the contestant choose from

Marc Enoch No. All amounts are hidden randomly. Colored envelopes would have made no difference.

@@NickCMedia Yeah but if it had been hidden randomly in like a gold coloured envelope she'd know to pick that one, i think that's what he meant.

@@greenxxghostie Doubtful. Different colored envelopes didn't help contestants in Let's Make a Deal win a $50K Super Deal in the 2010s. Just luck.

Yeah I wouldn't let my kids listen to that kind of music that's very rude and repulsive and to have your kids doing a video like that then posting it on RU-vid well we'll see how your kids turn out in the future
