As a Christian, my problem with Christian music is that some people have this expectation that if your song is Christian, you need to name drop Jesus 300 times. And then you have artists like Lecrae and NF who actually try to make music for everybody, and their "fans" go off on them for not name dropping Jesus like it's some gimmick.
@TheAtZShow
@TheAtZShow 6 лет назад
If you say Jesus' name only 299 times, then are you really a Christian tho?
@Sunsetdriver85
@Sunsetdriver85 6 лет назад
SKippySounds this is the issue I have soo much! A song called "Take off - Derek Minor (Feat. Ty Brasel, Canon, and KB)" was released this year and people kept saying "oh this is secular because Jesus (God) is hardly mentioned and KB normally raps about God but doesnt in this song...I'm so disappointed!!" What I just quoted (paraphrased) bothers me soo much. Christian artists or Artists who are christians dont have to always rap about Jesus or the Bible. They can rap about other things too. Jut because you rap about issues like relationships, racism, etc. And not God, doesnt mean you arent a Christian. Christians cant seem to understand this

Considering Jesus is supposed to be the focal point of Christianity then that is understandable... watering down your lyrics is not going to make me (an atheist) more interested in Christianity.

I seen a guy yesterday say that in Lecraes Rehab album he said Jesus 42 times in the entire album. But in ATWT he only said it approximately five times. He even accused Lecrae of not being Christian anymore. I was sitting there like, if he’s not Christian then why does he have a song about Romans 8:28? If he’s not a real Christian then why is he talking about how God brought him from nothing to something? He may not have said Jesus, but he still said God. I may not say Jesus name when I talk to you, but you can still tell by my fruit that I am a Christian. Had to get that off my chest..... and the guy who said that bull crap about Lecrae lied on everything in his video, and twisted the little bit of truth he had in it. He even twisted the word to match his video. I know he lied because he only showed part of Lecraes interviews and wouldn’t let them finish to show what he really said. I’ve watched all of those interviews too. This Youuber is called thevigilantchristian

Dude, holy cow. This is deep. I grew up in a Christian household and still am Christian to this day but not without many trials and tribulations. I found a lot of Christian music very monotonous, never touching upon the really ugly stuff that people deal with on a daily basis. Music isn’t just for worship, it’s an outlet for feelings and thoughts and it can make a connection and let those of us who’ve dealt with real shit in our lives know that we’re not alone. Contemporary Christian is very lacking in that department. The other thing is not all secular music is about glorifying sex and drugs. There is still a lot of secular music that touches upon very deep subjects which is why those songs are my favorites. But I do think if more Christian artists/record labels made a real effort to reach out to non-believers through their work, we could make more disciples this way.

With Christian music I think there's a difference between a "Christian" song and a "Worship" song. It seems like people are really bashing Christian music as being repetitive and uninspired, a lot of it is people playing it safe, but most of it comes from its focal point being to connect with the Holy Spirit. A lot of times we need to re-hear a lot of the same lyrics in order for it to affect our spirit inside in a different way than say a 3-minute radio song. Not to say you can't experience God in a Christian radio song but the atmosphere that bands like Elevation worship and Bethel do allows for more movement of the Spirit. That being said, as a musician, I love it when Christian artists go out of their comfort zone like Lecrae and make music that does reach different type of ears.
@crfstewarje

True. There are both sides to look at. Repetition in a song doesn't make that song bad; it just needs to be executed properly.

@snowfrostwing

I whole heartedly agree. We need different kinds of music for different kinds of people. If you need a worship song to get you out of depression, or a rap song to vibe too, or just a praise to get you hype for the day, we need variety. I respect Lecrea's decision and goal for his life. But as for me I just like to vibe to a variety. Finally, this video is really good at generalizations. While most of the content is true (at least for some artist) I know a few musition myself who have started to create songs. Sometimes one verse of a song is all you need to lift your spirits up.😄

The people that always surprise me are the "worldly" people that I like or respect then later find out are Christian because it just comes up in a random interview or RU-vid comment. People like Denzel Washington and Paramore stand out, and knowing of their beliefs puts them in a new light for me and makes me respect them a bit more, as well as opening up my view of what a "Christian artist" really is. You too, dude. I thought you were just a regular Christian RU-vidr until I see all the comic books on the wall and I literally go, "Wow, that's really interesting!"
@thefabulouskitten7204
@thefabulouskitten7204 6 лет назад
Well to be fair. If you're a christian I feel like it shouldn't be a secret. I believe you should let people know what you believe. However I don't think people should box themselves into just being "christian" if you are a christian that's part of who you are. But that doesn't limit you to only doing christian content. Owl City is an artist I really admire because he writes a lot of deep lyrics and music, but he still writes songs about God and his faith, my problem with bands like Paramore(prior to your comment I didn't know they were christians), is that they don't let God influence their music, or at least from what I can see.
@thefabulouskitten7204
@thefabulouskitten7204 6 лет назад
Now don't get me wrong, I don't think you have to write a sermon into your song all the time. But personally I just don't christ in their lyrics, like, at all. Paramore is sort of a band that's known for being super edgy and harsh(excluding after laughter, that's more up-beat) and a lot of their songs have rather questionable morals

lil chris tuten I think the reason why they’re not ‘loud’ about being a Christian is because religion, especially Christian, has a bad connotation in our day and age. And it is quite difficult to share about Christ when people found out that you’re a Christian. It is like an off switch.

I understand where you're coming from, but as much as there are problems with Christian music, there are benefits and wonderful things that come out of it as well. I do believe that we as Christians shouldn't limit ourselves and should make effort to explore other genres and sounds to express our faith through song, since God did create/influence every sound we know after all! But I also believe you can only go so far without compromising your faith, it's good to reach people, but at what cost? At the end of the day Christian artists and Christians in general should ask themselves if what they're doing and how they are doing it would be pleasing in the sight of God or not? The answer to that question is a matter of personal conviction. That being said, if we're going to talk about the negatives can we talk about the positives too? Christianity stays under attack, and many people never get to experience the hope and joy that can come out of this faith because of ridicule, assumptions, and negative reviews. I don't mean to say these things as a shot to this video, not at all because you do raise some good points, but if we're going to talk faith and call ourselves Christians can we also not forget about the good that is produced too and glorify that as well? Cuz there are plenty of people who downplay it already.

I wholeheartedly agree. As a Christian who also happens to LOVE music acts of all sorts (from Death Grips to The Fall), the problem I've always seen with Christian music is the insular nature of the writing process that you touched upon in this video. Artists like Sufjan Stevens, Johnny Cash, or Kendrick Lamar have made songs dealing with different aspects of their faith (including both the struggles and the revelations) whilst also pushing the envelope musically and inviting ears from outside of a self-designated bubble. God should be - as he was to classical composers - a source of creative inspiration rather than a hindrance or limitation on what you can can't do. I've always been of the mindset that the best way to open this sort of conversation to people is to put out the best music possible and then give God the glory, that way you can be a visionary musician and stay true to your beliefs. Great video man. (Also, I miss it when Relient K was a good band, like around 2009's Forget and Not Slow Down)

Pretty Jackson but how genuine would the revival be? 75% of Americans already claim to be Christians... But look at their lives. There’s no repentance, no new being. When we genuinely come to God and Christ, we become a new creature, and we are in the world but we must not be a apart of it. You can’t love God and the world at the same time. And these modern Christian music doesn’t tell you anything about the truth of why Jesus came.. he didn’t come to make us successful or make our lives easier, actually it’s the opposite. Jesus said it’s difficult to follow Him and that you will face persecution just as He did. It’s very sad to see how many people think they are being saved, someone needs to tell them the truth 😔

Serite Ross I think what he is trying to say is that the music needs to be a more one size fits all rather a tailored fit. (I’m in ministry but not a worship leader so bare with me) There are two types of Christian music in my opinion, Worship or “In the bubble” and Christian artists that are “out of the bubble. Examples for in the bubble artists would be Mercy Me, Toby Mac, Newsong. Examples of Outside the bubble would be Demon Hunter, ANyone from the 116 group, Switchfoot, etc. when worshiping at a church there’s something that needs to be taken into account, the congregation. The congregation is filled with people of all walks of faith. From those who come once a year, all the way to those that comes multiple times a week. Therefore we need songs to be able to hit both the heavily devoted as well as the newcomers. Worship is to praise God, no matter how simple or intricate. Outside of the bubble artists use their specific genre to reach out to a fan base that’s heavily mixed of both believers and non believers. A great example is when I went to see Red and Demon Hunter in concert. There were a lot of Christians there but also a lot of non Christians, F words going everywhere. But the thing is, they are listening to God influenced music, a reaching out, something that worship music doesn’t do. Worship music is to raise a voice of praise and acceptance, not to be evangelical (spread the good news). Sorry I know that’s a lot but that’s just my perspective. I love equally but sometimes I want/ need one or the other. If anyone asks I listen to non Christian stuff as well, grew up on Kiss but love all genres. Have a great day y’all.

I think the problem is that Christian music became a genre instead of a theme, that boxes the music to have to be all similar and the music that sounds different doesn’t fit the Christian mold anymore. But there are a lot of really good Christian bands out there, they just are not played on klove very much. If you are looking for great Christian music to listen to check out Eikon - I will follow, Josh garrels - born again, all sons and daughters - all the poor and powerless, young oceans - come to us o lord, gungor - the earth is yours, rend collective - oceans, the modern post, citizen and saints, the brilliance - holy holy, future of forestry - slow your breath down... and there’s many many more.

As a songwriter, I can say... I've already tried reinventing the wheel. The problem is that music theory exists, and yes... there is a formula, and it does require repetition. I've been to the workshops and gone through the rejection process. People want something that's tried and true, they just don't want it all to sound the same, or to sound like something else. Like me personally, my biggest beef with casting crowns is they sound like creed... creed sucks. But I do like Todd Agnew. Just an example. So is repetition necessary? Yes it is! But, there is a way to do it without it sounding boring. Good example, listen to 'Turn Me Loose' by Loverboy. Very repetitive, but not boring. Or 'Alive' by Y&F

I agree. I have lost interest in christian music as a christian, because it is very repetitive. Just like some churches they preach the same things. I love when songs about Christianity bring in their own lives or personal stories and break the mold with their music and rhythm. I think the main reason many people lose faith is because they are tired of being forced to follow rules and christian music sometimes enforces the idea that self freedom isn't allowed but that isn't true. Life can still be good as a christian and not everything has to revolve directly around church and gospel for someone to be a christian. As the bible says everyone has a different purpose through Christ and most christian music seems to ignore this and say the same things as other christian songs.

I'll admit I have an emotional connection to Skillet because they were the first band I really got into of my own volition, but I've basically migrated away from Christian music---which used to be all I listened to in my early teens :P---to basically anything that's good; whether musically or lyrically or whatnot. In the Christian area I'd say the only stuff I can really stand anymore is Skillet, Flyleaf (the old stuff), Lacey Sturm (thank God she's still working), and Red. Otherwise, Imagine Dragons is great, The Oh Hellos and The Arcadian Wild are great if you like bluegrass/indie folk-type stuff, Owl City is always great. I also am digging NF. My biggest issue with Christian music is how shallow it is, theologically-speaking. They'll give lip-service to how they *know* that life isn't all sunshine and how they should "praise Him in the storm" or what have you....but in practice? They have nothing substantial to offer the person in crisis. Especially when some circles outright condemn honesty about the darker sides of human nature as being "spiritually-murky." How is someone who's wrestling with feelings of anger or abandonment or despair gonna feel when they're told the mere fact that they *have* those feelings...means they've failed, or they just haven't really realized how much Jesus loves them, because if they did, they wouldn't be upset anymore? I'll tell ya how they feel. They wanna give up. One can take the pain if they know there must be a reason for it, even if that reason is just because the world is broken. It's near-impossible when everyone around you tells you you're bad for acknowledging its existence, let alone having it to begin with.

One thing to understand is that Worship isn't about ourselves. It's about singing our hearts out to God. It shouldn't be about making a song sound catchy, or have words that stir emotions, Worship is about getting our eyes on God, (Even in those dark times.) The bible tells us to put our trust in God, not ourselves. If we just focus on how bad our lives are we miss out on what God is actually doing in our lives. A perfect example would be Job, he lost everything and his own wife told him to reject god and just die. Job could have caved in and cursed God and gave up, but instead he praised God, and knew that anything in his life could be taken like that. Also when we have feelings of doubt, condemnation, and hurt, and despair, we ought to know the enemy will do anything to pull us from the faith. Also to the people who tell you are a bad person for having those struggles, and doubts, obviously are hypocrites, because everyone goes through those doubts and struggles. Also people need to be more loving and understanding when it comes to dealing with people, it can ruin them if they don't receive love, but face judgement from the mass. Jesus went through the same exact thing. The people were praising Him when He entered Jerusalem, then where mocking Him on the cross. We have to understand if we stand for Christ, not many will be on our side, because we are now enemies of the world. We are a threat to the Satan, and we are spreading the good news of the Gospel. Finally I'll say this, I've gone through the worst of the worst, and was hanging on a thread. I was dealing with dark thoughts, I was at such a low, but somehow I knew God was going to make things right. As bad as those feelings of darkness, and thoughts that reveal our dark side, its part of our nature, we where born into sin!!! None of us are made new until we come to Christ, and accept that He is our only way to God. Nothing else will suffice. The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked;Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17:9-10 God knows everything about us. When we have thoughts that aren't right, we have to take captivity of those thoughts, and lay them down at the Cross. Same goes with how we feel. Feelings are extremely deceitful, they come and go. Now I'm not saying its easy to lay down our troubles at the cross, and let Jesus carry those burdens for us, but it sure is a lot easier then carrying them ourselves. God wants us to come to Him, and give all our troubles to Him. He wan'ts to have a relationship with us, and wants to help us thrive and grow. He truly is the one and only who won't leave us or forsake us. He loves us and wants to help us grow in Him. Love you, and better yet Jesus loves you more.

I've found the most honest, and theologically deep music ends up being the Christian's that are into "hardcore" type music. Wolves at the Gate for example: they have SO much Biblical depth, they've helped me understand the character of God in new ways. Taught me new verses. You have some of the more main stream stuff like Memphis May Fire with more generic lyrics but still filled with honesty, openness and Biblical truth. I've personally found a lot of the hip hop stuff to be a bit empty(particularly comparing the musicality of the different Christian genres.) The thing is; different music reaches different people. Which he points out in the video, but also while kind of ragging on the music that I personally know several people have come to Christ through. God uses all different kinds of music to reach people; and the Bible seems to indicate that unless the music involves promotion of sin, or causes you or your brother to stumble we really don't have grounds to bash someone else's view.

Unfortunately, in your defense of Christians trying to break out of the molds, you forget to acknowledge that the purpose of Christian music is to glorify God - whether we glorify God like the psalmist in a lament, which still ends in glorifying God, even through difficulty - or whether we are praising and worshiping Him in spirit and in truth. Regardless, that is what Christians listening to Christian music are concerned with. And the artist is accountable to that for himself as well as his/her ministry. When they start diving off the sides because they want to sound more like the world, or for whatever reason, it is not only their music industry that suffers, it’s their walk and ministry. Which we see evidence of in their music later. For ex- you don’t even like Lecrae’s current albums. Neither do I, I think their distracted because the focus is no longer on God like the psalmist. You can talk about life but you are not without the hope of Christ. So what are these artists doing? Also you cannot sell a point by mocking hypothetical soccer moms. The point is, we want to worship God in Spirit and in Truth where through hip hop or contemporary. So you are not helping by bashing worship music. After all, the glory of God is what’s most important and serving/worshiping Him. I can’t make that the desire of an industry but I should be in agreement with the music I listen to. The problem is when I cannot be. And btw the cherubim and seraphim in Heaven workshop God but repeatedly singing Holy Holy Holy, Worthy Worthy Worthy is The Lord God Almighty- and that’s all they sing. So repetition is good in God’s 👀 eyes when we worshipping Him in Spirit and in truth. Sorry if it’s boring to you but we will be praising Him in Heaven lol. Let’s keep the right focuses. Personally, I also used to love Lecrae, when I listened to him before 2008 and onward. He fell off and needs prayer and hope. But I believe is spiritually out there now. Love Citizens and Saints! They are so genuine. Flame is also awesome. Check out some oldies but great examples like The Cross Movement back in the early 2000s and see how they powerfully handled rap music! God bless!

Completely agree with you, this guy is bashing worship music and christian music but the whole point of it is to glorify God not to make us feel good it's for the glory of God. And God bless those who turn to the world cause the want to fit in or they want to make more money but a true christian singer would understand that his ministry is and his gift of singing or being able to play an instrument was given by God and is only for God. I always tell God take me where you want me to go and tell me what you want me to say cause sometimes our flesh doesn't like what God tells us to do and we try to justify it but it's wrong. Let's not forget the purpose of us bein created, to glorify God in everything we do, and if you feel like doing your own thing than may God bless you because his will is always first than ours.

@jordanscott4543 6 лет назад
+precious igbebor “going through the motions doesn’t please you” a direct quote from Psalm 51:16 MSG. All of these modern day christian songs go through the motions and have not thought. Mindless praise means you’re not actually thinking of pleasing him it means you’re trying to meet a status quo. You can only say “god is great, god is great” so many times before what you’re saying has no merit. Zec 7:4 Then the word of the LORD Almighty came to me: 5 “Ask all the people of the land and the priests, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months for the past seventy years, was it really for Me that you fasted? And when you were eating and drinking, were you not just feasting for yourselves? They too were not having actual thoughtful worship they just repeated what everyone else was doing because everyone else was doing it so then they felt obligated. They wouldn’t say that, and neither would christian “artists” (I use that term sparingly because there is no true artistry in the act of reusing the same phrases that have been said since the 80s). Literally what you said was one of the most anti intellectual things I’ve ever heard. There is nothing wrong with having commonality, what’s wrong is that christian music doesn’t think about what they’re saying. They plaster the same phrases of what other people said before them and then they profit off of it because they know people like you will suck it all up

I saw one of the comments mention that there's a difference between worship music and the regular christian music. I completely agree!! My favorite christian songs are usually worship not because im blind to the fact that it has repetitive lyrics. Its because it serves its purpose. To worship! In my youth ministry, we as a whole tend to worship pretty hard. It's something that brings us together and helps up focus on God. Most modern christian music isnt for listening in the car or for jamming out to casually. It's for worshipping in your church, at your house when your praying, or wherever you go to seek God. I can careless what the artist's intent is when they write and compose these songs. I'm not worshipping the artist.

Tbh…the two main reasons I listen to KLove now: it does the best at helping me stay calm with all the crazies on the road, and I did grow up with it thanks to my mom(love you mom). Also, Lauren Daigle used to attend and sing in the church I grew up in so there’s that. That said, I agree with the points made. I’ve noticed that lately a lot of contemporary Christian bands are experimenting with the gospel sound, and it works well with some, but with others it obviously doesn’t fit(see “All My Hope is in Jesus” by David Crowder Band). I appreciate that “Christian rappers” are trying to crossover to a broader audience: you mentioned Lecrae, what also comes to my mind is the collaboration between Andy Mineo and Wordsplayed known as Magic and Bird(seriously, “Dunk Contest” is a banger).

To me, it seemed as though Lecrae has changed his flow to match the mainstream which makes sense, but isn't the reason why I enjoyed him. Rebel & Rehab are incredible album, but his recent stuff haven't hit me the way the others did. I used to be big on contemporary Christian music. I never was huge on gospel, but both genres have similar flaws: same cords, same flows, & same identity in Hopefully, Christians begin to think more about what the faith industry puts out & tries to make up their own minds. Just because it is Christian, doesn't mean it was created for/in honor of Christ.....

Just saw this post from '17. I feel the same way about most contemporary "Christian" music. It's quite homogeneous, predictable and 'safe'. I believe lyrically repetitive worship music has it's place BUT we need to embrace and encourage artists that dare to bust out of the 4 chord pop / worship structure. AND lyrically we need to hear more than just a repeat of Scripture. We need to hear about the struggles and challenges of the artist, not just a deluge of trite Christian clichés. I'm a singer song-writer who tries to write about things that matter. I've chosen to break free of contemporary Christian musical tradition by not compromising on my bespoke musical style to 'fit the mold'. If it proves not to be 'popular' - so be it. I'd rather it be raw and real than pursue a winning 'formula'. In doing so I hope that my songs lift up a down and outer, or points an unbeliever towards Jesus. I strive for authenticity and try to avoid being 'religious' in the bad sense of the word. Anywho, that's my ramble. I've got a YT music channel too and would love to get feedback about my stuff. I've seen a few videos on this but what I would like to point out is that Christian worship music is meant to be simple because it's the kind they will play in a church/worship service where it is encouraged for the whole congregation to sing together even if they never heard the songs before. They put the lyrics on a screen and everyone can focus on loving Jesus and singing along rather than trying to memorize complicated lyrics. I don't think it's wrong for them to try to be successful and make a lot of money as long as their heart is in the right place which only God knows if it is. With that said I found the video interesting and I agree that I would love to find more unique Christian artists with more poetic and creative music for personal time (not worship service lol) thank you for the artist suggestions which I will be sure to check out ☺️ God bless!

This is a very modern trend. Songs sung by congregations throughout much of church history were quite lengthy, and short hymns might have 5 verses. Many also included four-part harmony as a standard. Often, these were used to help remember theology (as our memory is often best with thoughts set to music), so that memorization served a purpose in peoples' walk with God.

Not sure if you’re a Christ following believer or not. But if you read scripture, GOD calls us to live above reproach, to not blend into the world, for Christ would not have done that himself. Listening to Lecrae music featuring unconverted secular artist will make believers think it’s ok to then also listen to the unconverted secular artist and also support that unconverted secular artist just as Lecrae is portraying by featuring them on his music. I’ve seen it happen with close friends. It’s not that Christians want artists singing Christian songs to only cater to Christians, everyone enjoys great music, but we are called to minister the gospel of Christ and exemplify HIM in all that we do. We are to uplift and encourage our fellow brothers and sisters walking with Christ, not cause them to stumble or backslide. I agree that there are many artists singing Christian songs who are repetitive in their songs and that’s extremely annoying and one does at times feel jipped by such songs. However, it doesn’t mean I’m going to start to open myself up to something that will possibly cause me to be led away from tolerating just “a little bit” of the world. Lecrae himself made a good point on an older song where he warns that “... a little BET tonight becomes addiction to pornography...”

I’d like to point out that there is a difference between contemporary Christian music, or pop music, and worship/praise music. The reason a lot of worship music, Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, etc., is so simple is that it’s meant to be congregational. It’s so that anyone, even if they’ve never heard the song before, could partake in praise and worship of God. Which comes to my next point: Worship music is about God, Christian pop music is about the Christian. Lecrae raps about his life, and his personal experiences in light of his relationship with God, but worship music that comes, mostly from, churches is all about glorifying and praising God. Each serve a purpose, but I don’t think they can be adequately compared to each other because their functions are completely different. I appreciated what you said about Christians supporting things just because they’re Christian, though. As a Christian and a filmmaker/film lover, I see that line walked all the time.

Worship music isn't about you or your struggles. Its about giving praise to the Lord. We spend too much time dwelling on what we need or what we're going through instead of giving it to God. The Christian music people can't stand seems shallow because yall want what you want. Create it. We do not need to be the world to reach the world. That's always been a whack excuse to me. We are called to be different then them. There should be a difference. If the gospel can't reach them, they don't want it. Jesus saves, we just deliever the message. Are we trying to really reach people or fill the seats like a show?

There is the saying help yourself then god helps you. Overly worshipping doesnt help anyone except yourself. And helping people or doing something for others does far more than million. prayers. And forcing that on anyone is disrespectful too.

wow that is really interesting! it is true that there are a lot of repetitions and the "common denominator" thing in most songs (there are exceptions) I also agree i cannot keep listening to contemporary christian songs because of this blandness but the base point of the songs to a christian isn't creativity or etc. it is plain and simple, just to worship god. If it stirs at someone's heart, it is a victory but it is sad to see that this industry is also money driven like many other are.

Good video. You both touched on a lot of key points. In Psalms 33:3 it says "sing unto the Lord a new song, play "skillfully" with a loud noise." I feel a lot of Christian musicians leave out the skillful part. I believe it's truly cause everyone wasn't called to make music, just like everyone wasn't called to preach. A lot of so called Christian artists just use God's name to get Christian and secular scene money. I make music but the motive isn't money, it's the message. I truly only listen to Ascend the Hill, Bryan Trejo and Woo trejo and a couple of others. Give it a listen God willing.

Hey man maybe I misunderstood. But that fact you put out saying lecrae is sounding like a lot of these other artists. Is not because he's trying to copy them, all those artists you mentioned that had similar sound, there's a different reason for that. Lecrae's new album is a joint record with Reach records, and Columbia Records (it's his first studio album) so now that's the case he is working with beat makers who work with Future, school boyQ etc. metro boomin did Hammer time. Broke was by someone who has done the most popular hip hop songs in recent years. That's my only gripe about your video, everything else I defiantly agree with. It just sounded like you were not educated on all the variables when it came to criticizeig lecrae

Do you have to go church to be saved ? I don’t like going church. Also how do I get saved I already confessed. I was told I have to confess again or repent I think. I want to be close with Jesus. I don’t know what to do. I need a wife also.

Quote by towzer "I wonder if there was ever a time when true spiritual worship was at a lower ebb. To great sections of the church, the art of worship has been lost entirely, and in its place has come that strange and foreign thing called the ‘program.’ This word has been borrowed from the stage and applied with sad wisdom to the public service which now passes for worship among us."

This is truth in more ways than one. Getting people to understand the truth of reaching others for Christ is worth doing. I teach the Bible through Vlogging and science. This is not totally acceptable in either secular or Christian circles, but it is a way to teach, and reach people who aren't watching ONLY christian preachers in a low resolution video from their church!

I always admire how people like to bash Christian music simply because they listen to a slim few mainstream artists (the narrator citing Mercy Me, Third Day, Toby Mac), and have never heard of Reach Records, Lamp Mode, don't listen to Jeremy Camp, Kari Jobe, Crowder, the like. They pick and choose what they want to bash, to create a certain narrative. That's deceptive, man!

I totally agree that a lot of Christian music isn't good. And it's not that the message of the the song isn't good. It's the fact that the song isn't a well put together song. I like skillet and nf and sometimes Lecrae but I don't like most of the songs we sing in church because of the repetitiveness of it just kills me😂

Okay, so I go to a non-dominant, and I work on a production team, and am starting to drum for my church, and in the background sometimes in between services, and sometimes going, we play non-Christian pop music, there’s nothing wrong with it, but, for us a lot of us in the end prefer Christian music, it’s all an opinion....
