You should try the Japanese method called Kaizen. It combats laziness. The goal is to do your desired task for at least 1 minute. Chances are you are going to keep going. My art has improved dramatically using this method. Very effective.
the hardest thing is sitting your ass down and starting to work, and that involves study. natural art can come from within, sure, but isn{t it amzing when you build on practical knowledge AND let that creativity come through?
I haven't watched American television for 15 years. No regrets. I embody that Nicolas quote, but little by little try to overcome it. And to answer Stan's question it's not about not using the knowledge, it's about trying to find the right process of learning, that in trying to find the right one, you wind up having pieces of them all that your knowledge becomes very deep.
I work full-time I devote 4 hours a night to painting I was doing upwards to 6 hours when I got home but people burn out is a real thing. That's why I had to cut down 2 hours.
@@Ty-1452 you know, I’m not gonna lie I took it a break to figure out what I wanted to do because I put too much pressure on myself and forgot the reason I painted. now I’m a full-time college student studying electrical engineering Dad and and I work full-time on top of still doing art my life is wonderful.
So what happens when you find too much inspiration, in the sense that you find too many things? Like, you find 7 different artists that you want to emulate and take from, but you find yourself overwhelmed because you don't know which way to go? Or is that a different thing altogether?
I think the reverse applies to me. Trying to come up with what I want to draw and committing to an idea takes about as much time as the actual drawing process.
ElementStar try doing master studies of outstanding works. You learn a lot from them and the finished product is easy to review because you have the standard to compare to
Probably the Biggest struggle I have! I’m very easily distracted and can be very lazy. But I also think I may be fearful of success overload and possible failure. Speaking of distraction, I have the same set of Home Depot chairs. Lol
The funny thing is a lot of people DO suck at watching TV! Within 30 seconds of watching a show they’ve already got distracted by something else on their phone 😂
@proko Question for you, I can draw models and whatnot in 3d or at least be able visualise my lines as 3d, but it's kinda heard to gesture sketch in 3d, it usually looks like flat, 2d squiggles
The answer to addiction (any addiction) is not "more discipline ", because if you could establish that discipline you wouldn't be addicted in the first place. It requires an understanding of the causes and a subsequent mind shift.
This isn't click baitey. Click bait is when you promise something in a title but don't give the substance that was promised. However, the title of this video is based on the content in the video.
@@bloopboop9320 that's up to interpretation. I got the impression that there was new content uploaded, and thus my time was wasted by clicking on the notification. Adding the episode number is pretty standard practice when uploading clips from podcasts.
@@kullenberg Most big podcasts don't label the episode numbers in the clips' title (or from what I've watched). They keep it anonymous as to what episode it is so that it is more available to a general audience. It is easier to search for and more accessible when the episode number is squished into the title. Usually the episode number is in the description when its a podcast clip (from what I've watched at least, but I could be wrong.
