Western societies dumb down, over complicate and place too many regulations on jobs. Hence why nearly all significant production & manufacturing jobs have all moved to Asia & less developed countries around the world like Mexico.. Average Japanese are unlike average American workers, think they can get away with stuff like that. Do you expect your authentic katana maker in japan to also wear safety glasses and shields? 😆 close to snowflake mentality
Agree. I'm all for protecting my lungs, but casting metal without eye protection seems odd to me. I've got a friend who has scars on their face from aluminum hitting a mold that had moisture in it. I always use eye protection.
I don't know man. Molten aluminum goes right through shoes like that and they also weren't wearing eye protection. I do things like this as a hobby, and though I'm more relaxed than most with safety things this video made me cringe. Hopefully they know something I don't.
i respect craftsmanship of japanese factory workers. no other places on earth does factory workers meticulously care so much about small details. no wonder japanese products are distinguished amongst others.
I was impressed that they machined all of the visible faces of the parts. The customer must have requested very careful finishing of the parts. 👍Maybe these parts are for inside the cabin, structure and aesthetic.
@@FrozenHaxor Brackets for luggage. Always made with at least safety margin of 4. And nobody knows if a 200 pounds guy will try to sleep in the luggage rack.
Aluminum melts at 1,221°F / 660 C Casting temperatures are hotter to ensure the metal stays molten and flows properly. This is definitely not "state-of-the-art" especially considering all the manual transferring of molten metal. This entire process looks like one giant safety hazard and the Japanese should be ashamed of themselves for the woefully inadequate safety measures for their employees. Nobody is wearing any face/eye protection for the molten metal. Nobody is wearing a respirators to protect from metal fumes. Nobody is wearing fire retardant gear/contact suits and gloves. I don't see any visible fire extinguishers or fire blankets at all. These should be everywhere and highly visible from anywhere in the shop. This is an atrocity. Do better Japan.
