Thanks. I'll try this next time. Yeah, all the ones I'd seen has them laying down on the side. I got real horrors trying to remove and replace my covers for the first time before. So much so I nearly gave up a couple times. I actually ended up breaking one of the prongs when I double-checks afterwards. Hopefully this would be easier. Bookmarked.

Ive tried everything on youtube, they wont come off at all they are stuck on. I tried light pressure heavy pressure. ive been trying to slide it off the whole time it wont even move. on one side 2 of the hooks have broke and even after that the remaining hooks cant even slide off. the 2 grooves near the playstation sign wont even go in without force anymore so i assume i just slide it off now, even then it still wont budge

Only took this off once for the SSD 2 tb upgrade. Will use this video again when I upgrade to the 4tb this year.

They get removed this easily only when they have been removed a couple times before. It gets a bit loose then. I remember the first time i tried to remove even after watching a dozen tutorials. It was horrifying lol. Never again I tried to remove the plates after that 😂 Although keeping the console straight up while removing them might help a bit

It's only that easy because you've taken your panels off numerous times making it easier for them to be removed. If you are someone who's never taken the side panels off your system it's likely going to have to use more force to get them off.

it is actually easy especially compared to the nightmare ps4 was, but aye y’all should remove your plates, and lift up the vent cover things (they lift just straight up), and with a torq 9 screwdriver take the fan out and clean that mofo I’d say once every 2 weeks or so (month, max) My house has 5 cats so there’s always a bunch of cat hair stuck to the ports and that’s even with a pretty good air cleaner machine thing (can’t think of the name, has HEPA filters) so seriously, it’s important to clean these obviously
